1 ALHAMBRA COUNCIL 2431, ALHAMBRA CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE JOSEPH (JOE) SALAIZ AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF STATE DEPUTY CALIFORNIA STATE JURISDICTION, COLUMBIAN YEAR Joe is the current State Secretary and has served the State Council, as State Treasurer, State Advocate, State Warden, Round Table Committeeman, Family Director, Recruitment Chairman, Wheelchair Chairman (South), New Council Development Chairman, State Operations Director, Assistant State Program Director and State Retention/Reactivation Chairman. Currently Joe is a board member of the Columbian Retirement Home, Columbian Properties, Columbian Foundation, Columbian Charities, and the California Knights of Columbus Emilio B. Moure Museum. Joe was elected Grand Knight in the Columbian year Under Joe s leadership the Council formed a Squire s Circle, and a First Degree team, and went on to win a Star Council Award. That same year at the State Convention, his Council was awarded the honors of Best Service Programs in the State, Best Council in Their Division, and Best Overall Council in the State. following his year as Grand Knight, Joe began the first of two terms as a District Deputy. On his watch, he formed two new councils, one of which was a college council. He formed a Second Degree team, with all his Councils maintained 100% participation in the ID Program two years running. His district had All of his council Star councils in his first year, achieving All Star District, and in his second year, again Star District. In his second year his District was recognized for achieving the highest percentage of membership in the State along with one of his councils being awarded in the Contest of Champions. During both years as District Deputy he was honored as one of the top District Deputies in the State. in as Chapter President, he formulated a written plan on district recruitment teams. While implementing this plan, the San Gabriel Valley Chapter had the highest percentage of membership and new councils in the State. In addition to all his work on membership, he made time to form a Third Degree team, where he held the position of Captain until May of During his year as Chapter President, the San Gabriel Valley Chapter had 100% participation in the ID Program and at the request of the then State Deputy Gary Nelson, Joe introduced the Wheelchair program to the San Gabriel Valley Chapter for the first time. Then, while visiting every council in the Chapter and speaking of an idea of holding church drives to help bring more visibility and maximize contributions, the term of "Wheelchair Sunday" was born, allowing his Chapter to have the highest percent of donations that year. That same year Joe was a State Delegate to the Supreme Convention in Orlando, Florida. Finally, in recognition of Joe s year long accomplishments, at the 2006 State Convention in San Jose, the California State Council named Joe the Knight of the Year. In 1999, Joe became a 4 th Degree Sir Knight, and a member of the Color Corps, joining the St. Jude Assembly in Yorba Linda. A few years later he transferred to the Father Felix Penna Assembly in Whittier. In , Joe became the Faithful Navigator of Father Felix Penna Assembly. Currently Joe is an Exemplar for the Southern California Fourth Degree Exemplification team which he has been a member of for 14 years and is a charter member of Saint Michael the Archangel Assembly in Chino Hills. for over 15 years, Joe has been an active member of a First, Second, and Third Degree ceremonial team. In 2008, he was appointed by the Supreme Council as Chairman for the distribution of over 500 Wheelchairs to the handicap veterans at the VA Hospital in Los Angeles, a first in California. He is also one of the State Council's Top Recruiters and a member of the Supreme Council's Recruitment VIP Century Club with over two hundred members recruited. Joe has served the Church as a Lector for 21 years, and as Coordinator for the Ministry of the Word, Assistant Youth Minister, Usher, member of Fund Raising Committees, and a member of the Pastoral Council. In 2010, for all his years of dedicated service to the Church and his community, along with living an exemplary Catholic life, Joe was honored to be knighted by then Grand Master Cardinal John Foley into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Alhambra Council 2431, with great pride, endorses Brother Joseph Joe Salaiz for the office of State Deputy, for the California State Council, for the Columbian year for his many years of dedicated service to the Knights of Columbus, our Church and his community, and we strongly urge his election at the annual meeting of the California State Council to be held in Sacramento, California in May ADOPTED; the 12 day of December, in the year of our Lord 2017, at a regular business meeting of Alhambra Council 2431.

2 Knights of Columbus Henry F. Giroud-Robert Heimann Council Chico, California A RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE DAVID M. ABBOTT AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF STATE SECRETARY CALIFORNIA STATE JURISDICTION, COLUMBIAN YEAR Brother David M. Abbott joined the Knights of Columbus as a member of Chico Council 1137 in Chico, California, in August 1989 and served as the Council s Grand Knight in earning the Star Council Award; and WHEREAS Brother Abbott subsequently transferred as a charter member of Henry F. Giroud-Robert Heimann Council in Chico, California, in April 2005 where he served as the council s first Financial Secretary from and currently serves in the office of Treasurer; and Brother Abbott served as District Deputy from , advising and working with councils in California s District 2 comprised of Chico Council 1137, Paradise Council 7773, Monsignor Paul Degnan Council 2603 in Oroville and Robert J. Williams Council 4780 in Susanville where he continues to serve as Captain of the Robert Heimann Memorial Formation Degree Team; and Brother Abbott advanced to the Fourth Degree joining the John T. Donahue Assembly in April 1995 serving in elected positions including that of Faithful Navigator in ; and Brother Abbott served in committee and elected positions of the Northern California Chapter, including Chapter President in achieving 125% of the chapter membership goal for that year; and Brother Abbott has served the California State Council since 2008 in various positions, including Membership Coordinator, Membership Retention Chairman, Supreme Website Referrals Chairman, Council Retention Chairman, District Deputy Mentor, State Trainer, Council Activities Director, State Program Director, State Membership Director (three times) and is currently serving his third term on the State Administrative and Finance Committee as well as Interim State Membership Director; and Brother Abbott is an active parishioner of Our Divine Savior Church in Chico, California, having served as a Lector, Commentator, Extraordinary Minister and as a member of the Parish Finance Council for the past six years; and Brother Abbott earned both a Bachelors and Master of Science Degree in the fields of Electronics and Instructional Technology and Design from California State University, Chico; and Brother Abbott spent the majority of his working career at California State University, Chico implementing and assisting faculty and students with the use of technology for teaching and learning twice receiving Honorable Mention as Outstanding Employee of the year; retiring as Associate Director of Academic Technologies in 2008; and Brother Abbott is active in his community, a Knight of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and serves on the Board of Directors of the Frank Nigro Columbian Foundation Supporting People With Intellectual Disabilities, Inc. formerly as Secretary and currently in the office of Vice President and 2017 Drive Chairman; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, in view of his service and dedication to the Knights of Columbus, his Council, Church, and Community, Henry F. Giroud-Robert Heimann Council proudly endorses Brother David M. 3 Knights of Columbus Pope John Paul I Council No Huntington Beach, CA RESOLUTION FOR THE NOMINATION OF BROTHER STEPHEN E. BOLTON AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF STATE TREASURER CALIFORNIA STATE JURISDICTION, COLUMBIAN YEAR Brother Stephen E. Bolton is a member of Pope John Paul I Council 6020 in Huntington Beach serving through the chairs and was Grand Knight in CY ; is a member of El Camino Real Assembly 85; held all chapter offices and is a Past Chapter President , past Chapter Intellectual Disability Chairman, Special Olympics Chairman, District Deputy and is currently the State Advocate ; is a successful businessman demonstrating both keen organizational and financial management skills; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton from 2005 to present has served on the Special Olympics State Council committee serving as chairman for the past seven years; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton led the Orange County Chapter Councils in a special fundraising drive to support Veterans in Orange County raising $90,000 to purchase 510 wheelchairs and subsequently distributed them to our Veterans at a Memorial Day barbeque honoring all veterans at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital, and was acknowledged at our convention in 2012 with the 1 st Annual Emilio Moure Award. Has earned recognition for his dedicated services with honoraria at State Assembly and Congressional levels; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton since 2008 has been a member of the board of directors for the Columbian Foundation Supporting People with Intellectual Disability s Inc; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton and his lovely wife Jane were King and Queen of the annual fund raising drive for Catholic Charities in 2011 for Knight s support of Camp ReCreation recognizing him for motivating all the councils of the Orange County Chapter in support of Camp ReCreation for Catholic Charities raising over $805, during his five years as Chapter Charities President; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton has provided the leadership within the Southern California Special Olympics community for over 35 years servicing and supporting the Fall, Spring and Summer Games and numerous Special Olympics events. Recognized as Volunteer of the Year for Southern California Special Olympics in 2008 and as Orange County Volunteer Person of the Year in Currently serving on the games management team for Orange County and Southern California Special Olympics and on the Leadership Council for Orange County Special Olympics and is currently the Chairman, Served as one of the two State organizers for the Special Olympics World Games in 2015; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton has served as a founding board member of the Vince Ferragamo Foundation since 1984 helping raise over $5 Million dollars for people with intellectual disabilities; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton has been the chairman and has been a motivating force in the organization sustainment and growth of the Day of Sharing in Orange County for 15 years. Providing services to the disabled of Orange County and through it providing immeasurable enjoyment and entertainment; and was recognized at the State Convention in 2012 for this program; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton has served his St. Bonaventure Parish for 16 years and continues to serve. Has served as Parish Council President, food service operations chairman for parish festival, assisted the Hope Office with food distribution of food to the needy, responded to the pastor s call to organize and lead a re-building effort for homes devastated by Hurricane Katrina in the 9 th Ward collaborating with the State Deputy of Louisiana to provide meals from us; and Brother Stephen E. Bolton is currently serving as the State Advocate and served as the State Service Programs Director in & The Chairman for the Wheelchairs for Veteran s featured Program that raised $560, for Wheelchairs for needy Veterans. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that in view of his service, dedication, demonstrated leadership to the Knights of Columbus and in service to the Council, Chapter, State, Church and Community, Pope John Paul I Council 6020 proudly and enthusiastically endorses Brother Stephen E. 4 A RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE BROTHER NOEL M. PANLILIO AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF STATE ADVOCATE CALIFORNIA STATE JURISDICTION, COLUMBIAN YEAR Brother Noel M. Panlilio currently serves the Knights of Columbus California State Council as State Warden, of which he also serves as a Board Member of the Frank Nigro Columbian Foundation Supporting People with Intellectual Disabilities Inc., California Knights of Columbus Emilio B. Moure Museum, and Columbian Properties Inc.; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio has served as the State Council Service Program Family of the Month/Year Committeeman in , State Council Service Program Council Activities Director in , State Council Keep Christ in Christmas Program Chairman , State Council Assistant Service Program Director in , and State Council Service Program Director ; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio is a member of Saint Anne Council 8627, Union City, California, since 1998, has served in various elected offices of his council including the Grand Knight in , led his Council to receive numerous awards including the Overall (All Divisions) Best Council in the State, and achieved the coveted Star Council Award; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio has served in elected offices of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Assembly 2627, including Faithful Navigator in , led his assembly to attain the Civic Award, served the Fourth Degree as Color Corps Commander for a period of two (2) years, and currently is a Charter Member of Bishop Floyd L. Begin Assembly 3546; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio has served as District Deputy for the years of which he led councils under his District to participate in various Service Programs including achieving 100% District participation supporting People with Intellectual Disabilities; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio has served in elected offices of the Oakland Diocese Chapter, including Chapter President in , raising needed funds to support various activities of the Chapter and led the Chapter to become one of the Outstanding Chapters in the State, thus earning a delegation seat to represent the CA State Council at the 2014 Supreme Convention held at Orlando, Florida; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio, having obtained a Degree in Medicine and Masters in Hospital Administration, served as Director for Administrative Services of a 250-bed hospital at the Angeles University Medical Center in , Board of Director of two (2) Financial Institutions in , and Board of Director of Accurate Medical Diagnostic Center in 1993 to present; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio served in various positions from 2000 to 2008 as the Immunization Program Director of the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, Director of the Santa Clara County Immunization Registry, Bay Area Regional Immunization Registry Coordinator, served as a Board Member of the California Coalition for Childhood Immunizations, Alameda County Commissioner for Public Health in , and is currently serving as the Substance Use Treatment Services Compliance Officer of the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department; and Brother Noel M. Panlilio is an active parishioner of Saint Anne Parish, served as the Church Festival Co- Chairman, Co-founder of the St. Anne Medical Action and Response Team (SMART), together with his wife Fannie and daughters - Stefannie and Dianne, coordinated the Council-sponsored Annual Flu Vaccination Clinic from 2006 to present which had been awarded as the CY Best Council Activity; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, in view of his service and dedication to the Knights of Columbus, his Council, Community and Church, Saint Anne Council 8627 proudly endorses Brother Noel M. 5 KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Chino Valley Council No Chino Hills, California A RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE PAUL C. DIAZ AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF STATE WARDEN CALIFORNIA STATE JURISDICTION, COLUMBIAN YEAR Brother Paul C. Diaz joined the Knights of Columbus in 2005 as a member of Chino Valley Council 10234, in Chino Hills where he faithfully served the council in various offices and as the Grand Knight in the Columbian Years of and ; and Brother Paul C. Diaz became a 4th Degree member of De Anza Assembly No.0068 in 2007; and after working through the chairs and as a Past Color Corps Commander. He served as the Faithful Navigator for the Columbian Year In 2016, he transferred as a Charter Member to the new Saint Michael the Archangel Assembly No and Brother Paul C. Diaz is currently serving as Wheelchair Program Chairman and Round Table Chairman of the Arrowhead Desert Valley Chapter for this Columbian Year of serving the Diocese of San Bernardino; and Brother Paul C. Diaz served as District Deputy for five (5) years, responsible in forming and institution of St. Margaret Mary Council No in Chino in 2011 and earning District 100% participation in Columbian Foundation for People with Intellectual Disabilities 4 out of 5 years; and Brother Paul C. Diaz has a well-rounded service to the Southern California Special Olympics program, serving in Basketball and Softball athletic coaching programs, volunteering at the Special Olympics World Games in 2015, participating in local Special Olympics fundraisers such as the Plane Pull at Long Beach Airport in 2015, 2016 & 2017 and the Polar Plunge at Big Bear Lake in 2017 and upcoming in Brother Paul C. Diaz is an active member of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and serves as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He is also a Past President of the Parish Council, Past Leader of the Annual Harvest Festival from , and Religious Education Youth CCD teacher; and Brother Paul C. Diaz is very much involved in his community. He is a businessman, President and Owner of PDQ Mobile Notary Service, a mobile service company serving the documentation needs of the Chino Valley and Southern California, a former Real Estate agent. He works now as a Director of Patient Accounting / Disputes for Conifer Health Solutions. A nationwide, Fortune 500 company that services the healthcare / financial industry. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management at the University of Washington in Seattle. He also served proudly and Honorably in the United States Navy and played professional Baseball in the San Francisco Giants organization for over 10 years. 8 Knights of Columbus Saint Gregory the Great Council No San Diego, California RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE RENE TREVINO AS A CANDIDATE FOR STATE WARDEN CALIFORNIA JURISDICTION, COLUMBIAN YEAR Brother Rene Trevino is a member of Saint Gregory the Great Council in San Diego and has demonstrated his passion for his Faith, his dedication to his Family, his ability to have Fun and has the experience and skill set to manage and operate large multimillion-dollar programs as a steward of Finances. He continually reflects on his Freedom as a Catholic and as an American. He is a licensed Architect in the State of California and served as a distinguished civilian for 31 years for the Department of the Navy where his last position was Executive Director, Navy Region Southwest, responsible for 29 major programs with an annual budget of $1 billion. He also is a member of the San Diego County Sherif f s Department Volunteer Patrol, serving over 2000 hours, and, was instrumental in establishing a Volunteer Honor Guard which provides various services throughout San Diego County. He has demonstrated strong leadership skills, acute organizational capability and financial management skills; and, Brother Rene Trevino served as Grand Knight for Saint Gregory the Great Council in CY where they received the State Deputy Award and Supreme Star Council Award; as District Deputy for two consecutive terms from where he received Star District recognition and the California State Deputy District Deputy Award (9 th Place) for his efforts in CY and was instrumental in instituting Mary Star of the Sea Council in La Jolla in CY ; and as the San Diego Diocese Chapter President in CY completing the year as the Number One Chapter in the jurisdiction. In that year, 21 Councils received Star Council (out of 105 statewide) and 6 District Deputies were Star District (out of 22 statewide) of which 5 were in the top 14 based on the Shield Report. He was instrumental in establishing Council at St. Catherine Laboure Parish at the completion of the Columbian Year. He continues as the current Chapter Special Olympics Chairman; and, Brother Rene Trevino is currently serving as the State Operations Director for a second consecutive year where he has implemented sound financial changes and improved Communications, Ceremonials, and Training capabilities throughout the jurisdiction. He was the Special Olympics World Games Chairman (South) in where he assisted in coordinating services with the World Games organization and was an active supporter of the World Games acting as a group leader for the Track and Field events. For his dedicated efforts throughout CY he was selected as the California Jurisdiction Knight of the Year; and, Brother Rene Trevino, a Fourth Degree Knight, is Past Faithful Navigator of Bishop Buddy Assembly 2122; is currently District Marshal for the Saint Junipero Serra Province, Southern California District serving in this capacity throughout California and Nevada and a Fourth Degree Ceremonial Degree Officer; and, Brother Rene Trevino and his lovely wife Carla have been active in the Council, Chapter and State, especially the Annual Widows and Widowers Luncheon hosted by the Chapter. This event, created by Lady Carla, recognizes those family members who lost a Brother Knight or a Brother Knight who has lost a spouse; and, Brother Rene Trevino has served Saint Gregory the Great Parish for the past 13 years as Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Lector and member of the Parish Health and Safety and Parish Development Steering Committees where he provides his architectural, contract expertise and talent. He has reviewed various projects to include Parish Hall expansions and new School development and oversaw the installation of solar panel carports; and, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that in view of his service, dedication, demonstrated leadership to the Knights of Columbus, the Church and Community, Saint Gregory the Great Council proudly and enthusiastically endorses Brother Rene Trevino for the office of State Warden for Columbian Year and urges his election at the Annual State Convention to be held in Sacramento, California in May ADOPTED January 2, 2018 at the regular Business Meeting of Saint Gregory the Great Council 10094, San Diego, CA.
