Delegation #1 Elder Angie Crerar Presented with ASBA Zone 1 Friends of Education Award and thanked by Board of Trustees for her contributions to Catholic Education. Delegation #2 Spencer Valen -St. Joseph Catholic High School Presented on the behalf of the GSA group at St. Joseph Catholic and reported on the difficulties and hardships that procedures are causing for transgendered students. 2. Faith Leadership Report Superintendent Karl Germann on behalf of Supervisor of Religious Education/FNMI Laura Tapson and reported on the dual role. An update on the process of hiring for a Youth Worker in the district was provided and the Board received as information the faith development opportunities available to students and staff. 5. Superintendent s Report 5.1 Capital Plan Meeting: Update Superintendent Germann reported on the recent meetings with Alberta Education staff and provided data regarding current and future enrollment predictions as well as the recent site tour with Alberta Infrastructure staff on September 11, Alberta Summer Games Superintendent Germann reported that permission was granted for the committee to use Mother Teresa, St. Joseph, St. John Paul II, and Holy Cross for the Summer Games. A Letter of Support was also written as the committee seeks CIP Funding from the Province. 5.3 DARE Program Superintendent Germann reported that DARE will be offered again in the City of Grande Prairie. 5.4 Policy 10 Committees of the Board Superintendent Germann reported on the information gathered from all CASS Superintendents in the province regarding the structure of ATA Liaison Committees and the purpose of those committees. 6. Action Items 6.1 Revised Capital Plan #023-17/18 FINGERHUT That the Board of Trustees approved the Revised Capital Plan as

3 6.2 Rescind Motion #126-16/17 St. Gerard Transfer of Land #024-17/18 SILVESTER- DEGEN That the Board of Trustees rescind Motion #126-16/17 relating to the transfer of lands Lot Twenty Two MR (22-MR), Plan Grande Prairie and Lot 1MR, Block 7, Plan which was adopted February 27, Accountability Report Early Literacy #025-17/18 WOHLGEMUTH That the Board of Trustees receive the Accountability Report: Early Literacy as information and that the governance recommendations be accepted as and referred to the Strategic Planning meeting. 6.4 ACSTA Appreciation Award Nominee #026-17/18 WOHLGEMUTH That the Board of Trustees nominate John Witschen for ACSTA s 2017 Appreciation award in recognition for his work in Catholic Education, RCIA, the Parish, and the Education Foundation 6.5 ACSTA Silent Auction to Support Toonies for Tuition Fundraising Campaign & Development and Peace #027-17/18 SCHOORLEMMER That the Board of Trustees support the ACSTA Silent Auction and direct the Superintendent to purchase a gift up to $250 in value for the Fall ACSTA event 6.6 Appointment of Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools Education Foundation Directors #028-17/18 FINGERHUT That the Board appoint community member Nick Kebalo to the Board of Directors of the Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools Education Foundation - 3 -

5 Ambassador of Christ - Faith Day - March 2, 2018 Faith Leadership no report CKC Steering no report GP Education Foundation no report STM Foundation Trustee Fingerhut reported that a Christmas party will be annual fundraiser this year APC Superintendent Germann attended on September 20, 2017 and provided a report. ACSTA.Trustee Ouellette reported on the appreciation awards and the September meetings will be released in October. Elections are coming up in November, ASBA Trustee Wohlgemuth reported on the September meeting and provided notes as information. School Act consultation received an expression of interest. Legalization of cannabis was an issue that will need to be discussed at Community councils to see how storefronts will be governed. TEBA is developing with Alberta Education a communication to share information. Political Advocacy Vice Chair Ouellette reported on the conference call with Minister of Education and reiterated the need for the new school. 9. Financial Report Acting Secretary Treasurer Jeanne Fontaine reported on the district finances up to August, Request for Information/Official Correspondence Superintendent Germann reported on Trustee Silvester-Degen s request for information. Official correspondence was as information. 11. Round Table Golden Last public meeting, thank you for the time and experience. Enjoyed moments with everyone. Silvester Degen Attended meeting with Archbishop, Opening Mass, St. Clement, Holy Cross and St. Gerard opening mass. Reported on the CCSSA conference attended in June and recommended trustees attend at least once for the networking opportunity Schoorlemmer Thanks to everyone for covering while away working. Attended Commission Mass in Spirit River and so impressed with all staff at St. Marie is helping students be active in the Parish. Fingerhut - Attended opening mass, meeting with archbishop, St. Thomas More Commissioning mass and STM Parent Council meeting. Wohlgemuth Attended opening mass, Holy Cross, St. Clements and St. Gerard Parent Council. Attended meeting with Archbishop and highlighted the decision around sacramental prep. Attended ASBA Zone 1. Thank you for the years and tremendous growth experience. Germann Attended Grimshaw Joint School Opening. Reported on the final stages of St John Paul II opening. Ouellette Attended opening mass, Holy Cross, St. Clements and St. Gerard parent councils. Attended Alberta Education session and reported it was well attended and a great information sharing event.
