Term of Contract: This bid is to establish a firm fixed price for the purchase of musical instruments on an as-needed basis for various secondary schools throughout the District, including Fivay High School. All prices will remain firm and in effect beginning on June 2, 2010 through March 20, Notations and Exceptions: Estimated total cost was based upon last year s historical usage and a new High School s anticipated requirements. Offers from the vendors listed herein are the only offers received timely as of the specified opening date and time. All other offers submitted in response to this solicitation, if any, are hereby rejected as late. Leblanc 342- Recommend rejection of all bids for the LeBlanc 342 as this item was discontinued by the manufacturer. All other or equal bids from Brook Mays, Interstate Music, National Education Music Company were disqualified as they did not submit the requested sample used for testing and evaluation purposes. Request permission to purchase similar product by obtaining three quotes on an asneeded basis. LeBlanc 340-Recommend rejection of all bids for the LeBlanc 340 as this item was discontinued by the manufacturer. The alternate bid from National Education Music Company was disqualified as they did not submit the requested sample used for testing and evaluation purposes. 2 MU-62A and 62B Marching Snare and Tri Drums- Recommend acceptance of bid from Washington Music for the Yamaha drums specified as lowest and best responsive, responsible bid meeting written specifications. Recommend rejection of lower alternate bid from Washington Music for the Pearl drums as they were heavier and taller than the specified Yamaha drums and the cases were too large for student use. MU-64 A through 62D Drum Carriers- Recommend acceptance of bid from Washington Music as lowest and best responsive, responsible bid meeting written specifications. Alternate bid from Music Showcase was disqualified as they did not submit the requested sample for testing and evaluation purposes. MU-97 Music Stand Metal- Recommend acceptance of bid from Wenger Corporation as lowest and best responsive, responsible bid meeting written specifications. Recommend rejection of lower alternate bid from Brook Mays, Interstate Music and Washington Music for the Manhasset M48 as the music stand had welding on two corners of each foot only and not across whole foot piece which resulted in the stand not being sturdy and the stand bent easily. MU-98 Music Stand Polymer Recommend acceptance of bid from Wenger Corporation as lowest and best responsive, responsible bid meeting written specifications. Recommend rejection of lower alternate bid from Washington Music for the Manhasset M48 as the music stand was made of heavy metal and not the specified polymer material.
