System Settings From upper left menu, click System Settings, under Measure tab, select Imperial for measurement system, and Length Unit and Length Precision with InchFraction for stone trade. Then switch to Model tab, set Layer Name to New Floor (or New Unit) for organizing drawing canvas tabs set Room Name Prefix to PC (piece) or any others (for organizing each takeoff areas) set Wall thickness to 0 (so the takeoff drawing won t show thickness)

3 Page 3 Other settings are intuitive. Save the system settings at end.

4 Page 4 2. Set up products and labor items in product database From upper left corner menu, select Product/services database. Right click over product services; select New Folder to add product folders. Right click over a folder, select New Product to add a product to that folder. For Type field, use Area Surface for now. Then it goes into product detail window, where vendor, vendor SKU, image, and pricing info can be defined. To define a labor item based on linear footage: For example, OG edge, right click over Labor folder, select New Product, enter OG Edge (granite) as Name, select Type as Regular linear. At detail window, may check off Taxable. Similar define Flat Edge, Bullnose Edge items.

5 Page 5 To define a labor item for surface area: for example, polished surface charge, select Type using Area underlayment for now. To define a labor for each count: For example, labor item for cutting a sink or anchor holes, etc. Select Type as Count.

Takeoff countertop, vanity, wall etc. Here are the steps: (1) Import PDF plan, select the scale first, verify the scale (using Dimension tool), then select DPI/Resolution, and Rotate and Crop if needed. Select the images to import (checkboxes on the right panel), click on Import buttons at lower right bottom. (2) Trace measured areas with Draw or Draw Rect tools for countertop, vanity areas, walls and elevations. Tips: Zoom in close while tracking to get accurate measurement. (3) Add hidden area details: backsplash, lamination areas (4) Add cutout annotations such as sinks or holes on the surface areas if needed Here is the takeoff of two countertop surfaces pieces in the kitchen. Use Draw (freehand drawing for any nonrectangular shape) and Draw Rect for any rectangular shapes.

8 Page 8 To change label of any takeoff area or objects such as countertop/backsplash/sink etc: Open right panel by clicking on >> symbol, select PropertyView (at bottom, if it is not the default)

9 Page 9 To takeoff sink or any hole on top of an existing countertop surface Simply trace on top of the existing area. For example, for the sink on PC1, use Draw Rect to trace it. To add backsplashes and lamination: Use Draw Rect tool to draw/add backsplash areas (or use Draw Rect By Size), and also lamination sections (if any). As there is no drawing to trace on, just read the numbers or enter sizes to create the drawings.

10 Page 10 Similarly, add lamination area next to the edges with proper width size (2 in this example).

11 Page 11 Open right panel by clicking on >> symbol. For each piece, to set its label, for example, to BP (for backsplash), and LAM (for lamination) if needed.

12 Page 12 To hide background plan image, go to View Options, and check off Image.

13 Page Product assignments and specifications Now takeoff is completed, and ready to get into product detailing step. To apply product to countertop areas: Drag Dallas White M104 from left product panel over any area, on highlight, left click to apply. To apply it to all, use Ctrl-A to select all, drop and left click to apply. Once applied, the square footage of the product is automatically calculated and displayed next to the item. To apply edge detail, drag each edge labor item to relevant edges: for example, flat edge to backsplashe tops and to side edges, apply bullnose edge to front edges. Once applied, the linear footage of these items are automatically calculated in the left panel next to the project items.

14 Page 14 Drag and apply Sink/cutout item to the sink area: Each (EA) quantity is counted. A red dot annotates the assignment.

15 Page Layout estimating and worksheet Here is the final finish of the drawing and product/labor detail spec and their estimated quantities. Then switch to Worksheet tab (next to Takeoff tab), then click on New to create a worksheet. Select Style field by product, enter name Estimate by product. There are four different worksheet types from Style field: by product By piece By trade By product then by trade In the coming version, Excel export function will be available.

18 Page Print report and save as PDF From upper left menu, select Print. At print review interface, click Options to find all selection. To print review pages into a PDF, click Print PDF button.
