13 SITE SECTION SITE VIEWS The site acts as a complimentary part to the inorganic materials of the house. Trees were planted around the house obtaining privacy also acting as winter wind breaks and summer shade. Views towards the ocean is accessible from south elevation at the two-story living space. 14 public private ZONING GRID The programing of the house is devided between the two rectangular boxes--the residence (the larger of the two) includes a mixed usage of public and private space with double-hight living room, kitchen and dining area, and Mezzanine level bedroom. While the studio only provides private work and storage spaces for the Eames. The steel frame establishes a clear grid through the whole structure, creating a unique composition of rectangles provided by steel window frames and was reflected on the zoning of the spaces. 15 MASSING The structure can be simplified into seven cubes. These cubes alternate between open-height spaces and divided-height spaces. FRAMING The structural framing expanses to the site horizontally and vertically that it encouraged use of space beyond the optimum requirements of living (Charles Eames). CIRCULATION The interior is spacious, light and flexible, providing a fluid circulation between the two sections and interacts with the courtyard. 16 PUBLIC & PRIVATE The color here form light to dark represent the change from public to private pace in these two floors. On the first floor, the living room and the dining room considered as public space and the kitchen and breakfast area are more private parts. 17 Grid The grille here divided the building into four and two parts of the space in the first floor defined as private and the other two are public space.
