1 Last Updated: Dec 2016 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Training Overview Course Code Duration : EK01 : 2 Days Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is an international language commonly used in engineering drawings. With providing uniformity information in drawing specifications and interpretation, geometric tolerancing reduces controversy, guesswork, and assumptions throughout the manufacturing and inspection process. GD&T helps to improves communication, results in better product design, and increases product tolerances. It also can be saving in terms of time and money. This training will be included the assessment and test understand about training. for make trainee more
2 Course Objectives Understand the standard practices for stating dimensioning, tolerancing and related standards in engineering drawing. Communicate a clear and concise 3D mathematical language regarding product definition. Apply the basic procedure in GD&T requirements. Interpret the technical drawing appropriately based on technical requirements from symbols and system of GD&T. Pre-requisites None Target Design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineer, managers, engineering students and others needing to learn about Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
3 Training Contents Day 1 Module 1: Engineering Drawing and Tolerancing Engineering drawing Introduction to dimension and tolerance Coordinate tolerance system Geometric and tolerance system Benefits of GD&T Summaries of Coordinate Vs Geometric Tolerances Module 2: Introduction to Geometric Tolerancing Symbols and Terms Feature and Feature of Size (FOS) Actual Local Size and Actual Mating Envelope Mating Envelope Material Conditions Modifiers Radius / Controlled Radius Geometric Tolerance Symbols Feature Control Frame (FCF) Module 3: Rules and Concept of GD&T Rule No. 1 Rule No. 2 Understanding the concept: Basic dimension Virtual and boundary condition Inner Boundary (IB) & Outer Boundary (OB) Worst Case Boundary (WCB) Bonus Tolerance Day 2 Module 4: Form Control Introduction of Form Control Flatness Straightness Circularity Cylindricity Summary Form Control Module 5: Datum (Planar) Datum system (Planar) Interpret datum target Implied Datum Planar Datum Datum Target
