Scan and Check Feature: To use the scan and check feature, students will need a smart device with an app that can scan and read QR codes. If you don t already have a QR code scanner app on your smart device, you may want to download this one from the itunes store for FREE. It is easy to use and has no ads. Place the tasks cards, answer recording sheets and clothespins at a center. Students choose a task card, identify the ten frame the turkey is holding, clip a clothespin over the correct answer and write their answer on the answer recording sheet. After completing all 11 task cards, student may scan the QR code on the answer recording sheet and check their work.

Have students walk around the room and scan the QR code on each card and listen to the number being said (make sure the volume is on). Students write the numeral they hear on the answer recording sheet. After scanning all ten cards students can go back to their seats and color in the ten frames. When they are finished writing the numbers and completing the ten frames, they may scan the QR code on the answer recording sheet to check their work.

8 Print spinners in color on cardstock. Laminate for durability and cut spinners apart. Make multiple copies of the answer recording sheets. Students will need a paperclip and pencil to work the spinner. Place spinners, paperclips, pencils and answer recording sheets at a center. Students select a spinner, flick the paperclip, write the number the paperclip lands on on their answer recording sheet and complete the ten frame to show that number.

9 Preparation Instructions Print all the pages of the number book and staple together. Students complete the number book by writing the number word, completing the ten frame, drawing an number set, writing the number and coloring in boxes that have that number.
