NEWCASTLE NETBALL ASSOCIATION ALL AGE REPRESENTATIVE CARNIVAL 15 th May 2016 President s Message The Executive and members of Newcastle Netball Association Inc. welcome all visiting teams to our All Age Carnival. It is pleasing to see so many teams outside our Association returning yet again to this Carnival. To those teams participating for the first time we bid you a special welcome. We hope all teams have a very enjoyable day with us. We wish all participating teams good luck and a safe trip home. Adele Saunders President Rules of Play 1. Carnival will commence at 9.00am sharp and will be conducted as per Carnival Rules published by N.S.W.N.A. Ltd. 2. Each team must supply a scorer, ball and umpire. Umpiring duties will be umpire your own game. Teams will be required to take a player off the court, if necessary, even if this means playing short. The changing of umpires during the course of the game is NOT permitted except for illness of or injury to an umpire. 3. Games will start and finish with the bell and the umpire s whistle. 4. Games will be centrally timed and will consist of 2 x 12 minute halves with one (1) minute break at half time and three (3) minutes between games. (At the conclusion of your game please vacate the court immediately to allow the next game to commence). 5. Substitutes may be made at half time or at any time in the event of injury, (See Blood Policy also). 6. No injury time will be allowed. 7. Players must wear the registered uniform of their team, including correct footwear and underwear. Position patches must be worn. 8. At the conclusion of each game the captain of the winning team is responsible for the prompt return of the score sheet to the respective Control Centre (National Park office if playing on National Park or Parkway Avenue office if playing on Parkway Avenue).

2 9. Competitions will be run on a Round Robin basis. The team finishing on the highest points will be declared the winner. In the event of two or more teams finishing on equal points, the winner shall be determined by goal average as per the N.S.W.N.A. Carnival Rules. 10. All score sheets will be placed in the centre circle of each court. Care should be taken so that no score sheet is damaged or lost. Should a score sheet be missing, please go straight to the Control Centre for a replacement. Please ensure the remaining score sheets are returned to the centre circle. 11. The wearing of any jewellery (earrings, bangles, etc.) is NOT permitted except that wedding rings must be suitably taped. Fingernails must also be taped. 12. A player may only play with the team in which she is registered. 13. No disputed will be entered into. 14. The Carnival Committee may exercise its right to upgrade or downgrade teams during the competition. 15. All participants are required to comply with local and State Disciplinary Codes of Behaviour. 16. Participating players and officials do so at their own risk and this Association will not be responsible for any injuries incurred nor any loss of personal property during the course of the Carnival. 17. Trophies will be awarded as follows: Club teams: 1 st place for all age groups Rep teams: Each association will receive a Participation Plaque Canteen facilities are available on both National Park and Parkway Avenue venues PLEASE PUT ALL RUBBISH IN BAGS PROVIDED THANK YOU Blood Policy 1. Umpire blows whistle to stop play and instructs player to leave court. Once instructed by the umpire to leave the court, that player must do so immediately. 2. The team may choose to leave that position vacant or use a substitute player. In the case of a centre (who is bleeding) that position must be filled by moving only one (1) player. The other team is not permitted to change positions or substitute players at that time. 3. Umpire blows whistle to immediately re-start play. 4. After the game has restarted, if there is a vacant position, that player may return to the vacant position, after a goal has been scored or when there is a throw in, notifying the umpire when she intends to do so. 5. No player is allowed on court with blood anywhere on her person or clothing. Different coloured top or shirt and bib are allowable.
