2 MAYB CAPITOL CITY SHOOTOUT RULES & REGULATIONS 2011 SCORES AND SCHEDULES (NEW) Coach scores and schedules will be updated Friday night and throughout the day on Saturday. To check out game scores, just log on at FORFEITS Teams should arrive minutes before your games. A forfeit will be declared if a team is not present at game time. NOTE: Home team is always the first team listed on the schedule and gets to choose their bench first. UNIFORMS Teams are required to wear reversible jerseys or bring 2 sets of contrasting colored jerseys. Home team must wear light colored jerseys. All jerseys must have numbers on the front and back. Home team is the first team listed. AWARDS Individual medals/trophies will be presented to the 1st 3 rd place teams in each age group (max. 12 per team), based upon the number of players on your original roster. In addition, a team trophy will be presented to the top three teams in each division and consolation champion. OFFICIAL SCORERS/BOOKEEPING ALL TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO SUPPLY A SCOREKEEPER FOR EACH OF THEIR GAMES. TOGETHER THEY WILL BE IN CHARGE OF KEEPING THE RIGHT SCORE AND TIME ON THE CLOCK. We have had great success with this cooperative effort in the past and kindly ask that you support us in this effort. The officials will be courtside to help with any questions. The scorebook is the final decision when questions of score, fouls etc. arise. Periodically, the tournament will provide individuals to keep the clock and the book. RULES: Iowa High School Rules, except as follows- In case of a tie in the final standings, the tiebreaker will be in the following order: Win/Loss Record Head-to-Head Points/Margin of Victory (Max. + 15) Loss (Max. 15) Coin Toss LENGTH OF GAMES Games will consist of (2) twenty-minute halves with a running clock. The clock will stop on all time-outs and for injuries. The clock will also stop for all whistles in the final two (2) minutes of each half. If a team is ahead by 15 points or more the clock will run continuously. If the lead falls below 15 the clock will stop. There will be a 5-minute warm-up and 5 minute half-time (pending time). SITE DIRECTORS The site directors are directly responsible for keeping the games on schedule and may change the length of half time and warm up time. Half time and warm-up will consist of 5-10 min. any questions or concerns should be directed to the specified director (s). Site directors have sole discretion involving resolution of any conflicts. OVERTIME The first and second Overtime will be two (2) minutes stop time. All divisions will begin overtimes with a coin toss. If necessary, the third overtime will be sudden death. Sudden death overtime will also begin with a coin toss.

3 TIME-OUTS Each team will be allowed (3) Full time-outs per game. One (1) additional time-out will be awarded in the first overtime. Time-outs will not be allowed in the sudden death overtime. TECHNICAL FOULS Technical fouls: Two shots and the ball. Any player or coach receiving two technical fouls in a game for unsportsmanlike like behavior will be excused from further competition that day. In the event a coach is ejected from the game, he/she is required to leave the gym! NO EXCEPTIONS! No standing in doorways! SPORTSMANSHIP All teams are expected to display excellent sportsmanship toward the other teams and tournament officials. Habitual violators will be removed from the tournament and/or be denied entry to future tournaments sponsored MAYB. Any parent, fan or associate, of any given team exhibiting behavior not conducive to sportsmanship will be required to leave the facility at the request of the site director. The tournament director reserves the right to excuse coaches, players or fans from the tournament in its entirety for behavior deemed detrimental! This rule is not based on number of technicals. 3pt. Shot Three (3) point shots will count in all age divisions. GAME/WARM-UP BALL (S) The referee will be solely responsible for selecting the game ball utilized during play. All teams must bring their own warmup balls. IMPORTANT NOTICE, PLEASE READ ALL TEAMS MUST PRESENT PROOF OF AGE OR GRADE, IF REQUESTED AT ANYTIME BY TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR OR SITE COORDINATOR TO SETTLE A DISPUTE. ANY TEAM FOUND IN VIOLATION OF THE GRADE RULE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND ALL GAMES PLAYED WILL BE FORFEITIED.
