11 Network Innovative Helmet : Objective To implement and evaluate the SmartNets concepts, methods and tools in the development phase of an innovative motorcycle helmet employing new materials and technologies for the achievement of increased shock absorption properties. 12 Network Innovative Helmet : Final industrial aims To define a new safety level on helmets market, overcoming evident and stated limits of current Homologation Standards. To get more freedom on product design development: by the use of different materials and related processes, we could get a completely different product. To create an Helmet that passes all market homologations, allowing to cut down warehouse stock of about 70%. To establish a technological time gap with competitors. 12

Materials developer and manufacturer, provides materials and technical solutions on both material and process level, supporting in the plant definition and modifications, as well as in the materials quality control. Final product manufacturer, provides product requirements and specifications, performs design studies, selects and assembles accessories, manufactures products and prototypes, performs testing activities according to the specific norms, as well as market analysis for the final product. 14

15 Network Innovative Helmet : Application of the SmartNet Modeller The SmartNet Modeller is aimed at supporting the description of both the current and targeted position of a Network, in order to have a clear and immediate understanding of the collaboration between Partners. Naturally, such a description has to be performed on different aspects and, within them, with different views (e.g. Market, Finance and Management Views for the Ecosystem Model). 15
