2 The Clothing Textile and Fibre Technological Development Company (CLOTEFI SA) is a specialised Textile Technological Centre in Greece. Was founded in 1986 and operates as an independent company of public interest. it is supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development.

3 CLOTEFI is active in applying the results of applied research in textile and clothing sector, as well as providing scientific and technological services to enterprises that produce or use such products. Always in touch with developments, open and flexible, CLOTEFI has today gained for itself a distinguished place in Europe in areas such as:

4 Laboratory Quality Control. Product certification. Provision of specialised services, consultancy and technical support. Analysis and solving of specific problems relating to production and quality. Application of management systems in SMEs. Practical application of knowledge through specially designed training programmes for workers and executives of businesses. Applied research.

5 In the framework of TEXMEDIN project CLOTEFI is the coordinator partner of component 3: Integrated knowledge-base This component will develop the contents and ICT platform of the T&A Mediterranean know-how and creative heritage integrated knowledgebase.

6 Over the last 15 years, CLOTEFI has participated in more than 60 European and national research projects, serving innovation priorities in textile products, processes, services, and organisational procedures. FABRICHAND

7 CLOTEFI operates in close collaboration with both public and private European Research Centres and Technological Organisations being a member in well known European networks.

8 At the centre of CLOTEFI s research activities is the development of advanced textiles and fibre products. As part of this effort, CLOTEFI is developing multi-functional protective textiles, smart textiles with embedded electronics, textiles acting as solar cells etc. Another object of research is the development and improvement of processes used in the textiles industry.

9 In addition to research activities associated with new products and processes development, CLOTEFI is actively supporting non technological innovation:
