2 Company Profile Since its establishment in 1964 in Waldstetten (Bavaria) by Mr. Wilhelm Merkle, Merkle has set itself apart as one of the world leaders in the production of welding technology equipment for manual and automated welding. This made the jump to our DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 qualifications very easy, and showed us that we were in fact already producing to standards well above the required norm. To manufacture a high technology component to standards well above the current certification levels, we have learnt that our own in house production is of utmost importance. In reality it is the key to high reliability, availability and flexibility. Because we manufacture as much as possible ourselves, we are in a position to adapt to changing market demands in a very short space of time. The fact that we produce so much of our equipment ourselves is also the key to success of our mechanical and electronic R&D departments. A large team of skilled machinists and operators enable the production and modifications of prototypes in the shortest possible time. This also lends itself perfectly to the manufacture of our tailor made automation and robotics solutions and the related single components.
