3 On October 25th 2014, from 10am to 6 pm (GMT), children in Amsterdam, Nairobi, Mumbai, Dusseldorf and Dublin will work in parallel to create designs for better cities, and build prototypes to present their ideas.

6 About Unexpect We believe that all children can contribute to designing a better world, both now and in the future. By learning to design and use new technologies, children gain future ready skills, while employing their creativity and empathy to create better futures for everyone.

We train teachers and consult with schools on how to use Design based Learning in the classroom. We help companies through the insights of child designers to create new futures for their products and services.

9 Our vision The vision of the Unexpect Foundation is a world where all children contribute to making a better world through creative and critical use of (new) technologies. We achieve this through teaching children to design and to critically use new technologies and through a bi-annual event: the Global Children s Designathon.

22 The Manifesto On we launch the manifesto for Future Ready Learning The manifesto is co-signed by world renown figures in learning, creativity and technology MANIFESTO (DRAFT) When CHILDREN have a voice, civil society becomes more civil. Democracy becomes more democratic ALL CHILDREN ARE TAKEN SERIOUSLY all children are taught creative AND critical use of (NEW) technologies at school. GOVERNMENTS FACILITATE THAT ALL CHILDREN CAN GET A QUALITY EDUCATION.... It can be signed by the public at large via our website
