All-female hackathons and app-building workshops for girls aged seven and over. These jam-packed days enable girls to learn to code to either solve a problem or make an app. Students, working in small teams, complete a series of STEM relevant tasks in an effort to produce the perfect car. This virtual car is then entered into a competitive race in the hope of winning it. The also involves students racing against teams from other schools and countries
3 Cisco Little Big Awards EEP-Robotics- BP Ultimate STEM IET Faraday Days YES YES YES YES YES YES The Little Big Awards is a challenge that explores the concept of the internet of things and what is possible when you connect everyday things like the microwave and your central heating to the internet. The Little Big Awards are due to be launched on 25 November They are targeted at Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) and there will be a special Award this year for any submissions that include the BBC micro:bit Your student team will learn how to build, program and control autonomous LEGO robots to complete a series of short, exciting space missions using LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 sets. From assembling the crew to launching the satellite, they ll demonstrate the skills they ve learned at challenge events held around the country. Closing date for entries Nov 5th. We are asking teams of two to four students aged 11 to 14 from across the UK to put their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills to the test and win some fantastic prizes, including an invitation to a celebratory event at the Science Museum in London, 500 for their school and Science Museum goodies. Choose one of these three real-world challenges based around the theme of increasing energy efficiency. Giving students the opportunity to research, design and make prototype solutions to genuinely tough engineering problems

Talent 2030 YES YES YES YES Talent 2030 s National Engineering Competition for Girls is a FREE competition that offers girls the chance to win 500 for themself and 500 for their school. The competition invites girls to solve the major challenges of the 21st century, to get creative, get thinking and most of all have fun!
5 FIRST LEGO League YES YES YES on request Involves student participation in a research project plus a robotics challenge TeenTech YES YES YES TeenTech events take place at venues across the UK at each event 300/500 pupils from 30/50 different schools benefit from hands-on exhibits and challenges run by leading organisations. Farm Tech YES YES YES YES Students have the opportunity to put your science and computer skills to the test and come up with an invention using digital technology that could help farmers across the world produce more food while protecting the environment and ensuring the safety of people on the farm. The Land Rover 4x4 YES YES YES On request The Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology is to build a radio controlled four-wheel drive (4x4) vehicle to the specifications provided that will successfully navigate and complete obstacles on an off road test track that is just as demanding as the real thing, and emulates the capabilities of a full size 4x4 vehicle. Each team will enter the vehicle into a Regional Final to compete for a place at their countries representative National Final. The National Champions from each country are then invited to the Land Rover 4x4 in Schools World Finals!
6 FMSP/UKMT Senior Team Mathematics YES YES on request The STMC is for students in years 11, 12 and 13 testing mathematical, communication and teamwork skills. Each team must consist of four Year 11, 12 or 13 (or equivalent) students with no more than two students from Year 13.
