10 To whom it may concern Western Link project Recommendation Letter The present letter concerns the participation of the Assodivers Group of companies (ASDG) as subcontractors of Prysmian Powerlink SrL. in the project entitled Western HVDC Link Submarine Cable Installation at Wirral. The said project was awarded to Prysmian Powerlink SrL. by the UK companies National Grid Electricity Transmission plc. and Scottish Power Transmission Ltd. and included the supply, installation and protection of 385km of submarine power cables in the Irish Sea between Scotland (Glasgow area) and England (Liverpool area). In the course of this project, Prysmian Powerlink SrL. employed two members of ASDG, namely Kreousa Shipping Company Ltd. and Assodivers Technical-Commercial & Shipping Ltd. (ASD), for the provision of a range of cable installation and protection services that satisfied part of the scope of work of the project. Kreousa Shipping Company Ltd. provided her specialist cable laying barge (CLB) Atalanti and the anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessel Artemis whereas Assodivers Ltd. provided full project engineering, management and execution services. The scope of work of the ASDG member companies was performed between April and November 2014 according to the following schedule: Transit of CLB Atalanti and AHTS Artemis from ASDG home port of Elefsina, Greece, to Prysmian s cable manufacturing facility at Arco Felice, Naples, Italy, and loading 2x36.2km HVDC submarine power cables; Transit of the vessels from Naples to Liverpool, UK, and loading of a basket containing 36.2km of fiber optic cable that would be laid in a bundle with the power cables; Pre-Lay Grapnel Run (PLGR) operation along the cable route by AHTS Artemis and CLB Atalanti; Pre-Lay Visual Survey along the cable route by ASD s Atom ROV, operated from CLB Atalanti; Cable rollerway installation and beach preparation by ASD technical personnel at Wirral for subsequent cable pulling ashore under dry (low tide) conditions through HDD conduits pre-installed by another subcontractor; Planned safe grounding / beaching of CLB Atalanti at Wirral and assistance in the pulling ashore of the three cables (two power and one fiber optic) under dry (low tide) conditions along the pre-installed rollerway up to the entrance of the HDD conduits; Burial of the cables as a bundle to a target depth of 2m for approx. 620m at the very shallow water area (i.e. the area between the vessel s beaching point and the entrance of the HDD conduits) using the CLB Atalanti s jetting-assisted plowing vehicle AssoPlow operated independently from the vessel with the support of a dedicated small barge; Simultaneous Laying and Burial (SLB) operation of the cable bundle by CLB Atalanti working in tandem with the AssoPlow to a target depth of 2m for approx. 21km and to a target depth of 3m for approx. 15km; after the end of SLB operations, the cables were capped and sealed and the final cable heads were safely deployed; Post Lay seabed survey along the cable route by the Atom ROV operated from CLB Atalanti; Remedial works in areas along the cable route that proved to be non-jettable, which included: o Post-Lay Burial (PLB) by jetting using ASD s Assojet II underwater vehicle operated from CLB Atalanti; o Concrete mattresses installation using suitable frame attached to one of the cranes of CLB Atalanti. As Prysmian Powerlink SrL, we can hereby declare that the works of the Western HVDC Link project included in ASDG s scope of work were performed safely, efficiently and to our satisfaction. The ASDG teams knowledge, experience, flexibility and good working spirit ensured a smooth cooperation with our onshore and onboard project teams and other subcontractors and contributed significantly to the success of the endeavor. Special mention must also be made to the resourcefulness displayed by ASDG offshore management when severe weather conditions were encountered during the SLB operation that ensured the safety of vessels and personnel and the integrity of the cables under very difficult circumstances. 22 To whom it may concern Date: 27 Marzo 2012 Subject: Recommendation of Cometa Project (Romulo project). We confirm that Assodivers Ltd has performed the works, as briefly described below, in connection with the Contract for the implementation of an HVDC interconnection between the Spanish mainland and the Baleares Islands, designated as the Cometa Project (part of Ròmulo Interconnection project). The HVDC link is designed for power transmission between the converter stations in Morverde, close to Sagunto (Spanish peninsula) and in Santa Ponca in Mallorca Island (Baleares Islands). The system is composed of a bi-polar connection scheme with a metallic return (MR) with the inherent capability in the first stage of realization and during emergency conditions of monopolar operation using the metallic return. The bi-polar rating is 400MW at the rated voltage of 250kV. Works performed: Protection by trenching (PLB) of 37,026m of submarine cable length Range of water depths: m; Target DOC: 1.0m at Spanish mainland side, 0.5m at Mallorca side; Post-burial survey of as-trenched cable lengths; Trench cleaning (sweeping) by ejector; Trenching at small pieces with the use of ejector only. Installation of 392 Mattresses Assodivers Ltd has fulfilled these commitments to our entire satisfaction and a special mention shall be made to the flexibility demonstrated throughout the whole performance of the Works.
