Planning and installation of offshore wind farms can be challenging because of harsh environmental conditions, heterogeneous soil profiles and scheduling risks. Seabed preparation, installation of foundations and offshore high voltage stations, as well as installation of infield and export cables involve numerous disciplines, contractors and suppliers. When properly managed this results in simplified interfaces and effective solutions in line with your cost and time expectations. Unexploded Ordnance and Survey Removal - There is a huge amount of historical ordnance in our seas and oceans, posing high risks to those working on and under water offshore. We combine marine engineering knowledge with ordnance clearance and ship salvage expertise to meet the requirements of seabed ordnance salvage for the installation and expansion of wind farms. Foundations - Without a solid foundation, there is no offshore wind farm. The varying site conditions affect the foundation type and design. That s why we use an integrated design approach and team with steel fabricating experts to help clients reach their offshore potential. As a transportation & installation (T&I) contractor with a versatile fleet of vessels and excellent fleet management capabilities, we select the most effective installation spreads that will bring T&I activities well within project timelines and budgets. Subsea Power Cables - VBMS is the leading player in subsea power cable installation and offers the full package of solutions for export cables, inter-array cables, and interconnectors including integral management for offshore wind farms and grids. By using all available in-house resources, we eliminate time-consuming interfaces to increase overall efficiency. Diving and ROV - Our subsea activities are focused on carrying out underwater work by using air diving and saturation diving as well as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). ROVs are robots that are able to carry out a wide array of underwater tasks, often in places or at depths that are difficult or impossible for divers to reach. This is how we provide innovative subsea inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) as well as construction and decommissioning services for offshore wind projects. Offshore High Voltage Stations (OHVS) - Offshore converter stations are a necessity to convert the electricity generated by the offshore wind farms from alternating current (AC) to high-voltage direct current (HVDC). These OHVS are huge, longer than a football field, and connect often to several offshore wind farms. Boskalis provides transportation, foundation and topside installation, scour protection and IRM services for these platforms. Scour Protection - Subsea cables, platform foundations and wind turbine foundations are costly investments that demand long-term protection. Anchors, tidal currents and erosion may cause damage and maintenance costs can easily spiral out of control. Boskalis dynamically positioned fall pipe vessels are deployed to conduct scour protection services. Client: Dong Energy and Scottish Power Renewables. Scope: Transport of 108 monopiles and 108 transition pieces including design, manufacturing and installation of sea fastening and lifting tools; concurrent mobilization of two jack-up installation vessels; scour protection; port logistics; and project management. Unique: By using the innovative upending hinge and bucket, pile gripper frame and transition piece lifting tool, the world s largest hydrohammer and state-ofthe-art survey equipment, the installation time of the foundations was reduced with almost 40%. SANDBANK Capacity: 288 MW Location: German Bight, North Sea. Client: Sandbank Offshore Windfarm GmbH. Scope: Cable supply, CPS, installation, post lay burial and termination & testing of 76 inter-array cables. Use of cable-laying vessels Ndurance for cable laying and Ndeavor for burying the cables simultaneously. Unique: By accommodating all personnel onboard the Ndurance and the Ndeavor, transfer times were minimised which contributed to maximum efficiency in execution of the works. Also successfully launched the post-lay burial ROV trencher ABERDEEN Capacity: 100 MW Location: North Sea, 2.4 kilometers off the coastline of Aberdeenshire at Blackdog, North-East Coast of Scotland Client: Areg & Vattenfall joint venture Scope: The offshore consent for the AOWF is based on eleven (11) three-bladed horizontal-axis offshore WTGs each with a maximum blade tip height of m above LAT, associated foundations, interarray cables and export cables. There is no requirement of an offshore substation due to the limited size and proximity of the project to the shoreline. The onshore substation and onshore cabling is subject to a separate approved planning application and comprises onshore cabling from landfall to the substation compound. Unique: The project will have a design life of twentyfive (25) years after which time it will be fully decommissioned. The project base case design is planned to generate a maximum total active power generation capacity of up to 100 MW. Scope: Transport and installation of 70 wind turbine foundations (each foundation consists of a four-legged jacket and four piles) and 6 offshore substation piles; port logistics; design and implementation of pre-piling frame; and, project management. Installation activities executed by the Giant 7 barge; installation of the jackets was done by the Taklift 4 sheerleg. Unique: Development and use of the innovative pre-piling frame to install 280 piles for jacket foundations. VEJA MATE Capacity: 402 MW Location: German Section, North Sea, 95 km northwest from the island of Borkum. Client: Veja Mate Offshore Project GmbH. Scope: Design, procurement, fabrication, supply, transportation, installation and testing of 67 wind turbine foundations (Each of the 67 foundations consists of an XXL monopile and a transition piece); logistics; scour protection; and project management. CRANE VESSELS By the conversion of two of our semi-submersible heavy transport vessels our fleet will be expanded with two 3,000t capacity revolving crane vessels.

13 13 Boskalis operates one of the largest fleets of specialized offshore vessels in the world, including crane vessels, cable laying vessels, rock dumping vessels, semi-submersible heavy lift vessels, diving support vessels, (anchor handling) tugs, and floating sheerlegs. CRANE VESSELS By the conversion of two of our semi-submersible heavy transport vessels our fleet will be expanded with two 3,000t capacity revolving crane vessels. With a deck space of 7,000 m², these vessels will be able to load multiple structures, resulting in fewer transits from/to the fabrication yards or feeder ports. Its DP-2 capabilities prevent loss time for anchor spread deployment. The vessels will be able to work in harsh environments, can accommodate 150 persons and will have a helicopter deck for offshore transfers. MULTIPURPOSE / CABLE LAYING VESSELS The multipurpose vessels Ndurance, Ndeavor and Stemat Spirit are specifically constructed for offshore and shallow water operations, such as cable laying, seabed excavation, and subsea rock placement. The vessels are DP2 operated and designed for beaching. DIVING SUPPORT VESSELS Our DP2 / DP3 dynamically positioned diving support vessels are fully equipped with AIR/SAT diving and ROVs to perform UXO clearance operations, subsea construction activities, as well as to support IRM campaigns. SEABED INTERVENTION VESSELS In addition, the company owns equipment such as trailing suction hopper dredgers, cutter suction dredgers, and backhoes and grabbers for excavation, landfall installation and seabed rectification services. Our versatile fleet is supported by the full spectrum of in-house design, SHE-Q, procurement, project management and engineering expertise, including a specialism workability studies to assess vessel behavior under different environmental conditions (e.g. wind and wave effects, which impact the load and stability of the vessel) with different loads.
