38 Ma ersk Supply Service case story 13 Janice: Delivering simplified, cost effective and safe decommissioning Bundling of services reduces costs and complexities for the customer In 2016, Maersk Supply Service was contracted to provide decommissioning services for the Janice subsea field in the North Sea for Maersk Oil UK. Our project responsibilities included engineering, project planning and managing the scope of the subsea decommissioning. Approximately 10 vessels are employed in the project, utilising all three of our asset types: AHTS, PSV and SSV. As lead contractor, Maersk Supply Service has brought in three sub-contractors to execute a carefully planned decommissioning of the Janice subsea facilities from start to finish. As a result of efficient project management and strong synergies with partners on the Janice project, Maersk Supply Service secured a second contract with Maersk Oil UK for the Leadon subsea decommissioning. Why Maersk Supply Service? With the award of Janice contract, Maersk Supply Service demonstrates an innovative, bundled service approach for customers. The customer advantage Through managing project partners and leveraging our internal capabilities we are able to deliver a more simplified, cost effective and safe project solutions for our customers.
39 Ma ersk Supply Service case story 13 Leadon: Building on strong synergies to perform efficient decommissioning Efficient project management secures new decommissioning contract Building on the synergies and collaboration established in the Janice decommissioning, the same Maersk Supply Service-led team has begun work on the Leadon subsea field, using our patented flexible flowline recovery methodology. Project planning for the Leadon tow head decommissioning is already underway and up to five Maersk Supply Service vessels, including the Maersk Master, our Starfish new-build and one of the Stingray subsea support vessel new-builds, are expected to be utilised in the project program, where the vessel will perform offshore lifts of the tow heads in excess of 300Te. Why Maersk Supply Service? Securing the Janice as well as the Leadon contracts shows that Maersk Supply Service is a trusted partner when it comes to delivering projects with broader scopes of work and responsibilities. The customer advantage Through managing project partners and leveraging our internal capabilities we are able to deliver a more simplified, cost effective and safe project solutions for our customers.

49 CONCLUSIONS 31
50 32 Conclusions based on my own experience STEM and business go hand-in-hand when you want to make real impact A broad experience and a natural sense of curiosity enhances innovation Real impact requires a thorough understanding of the old way - both business and technology Many companies, large and small, aim to make a real impact Job postings are some times slightly misleading Be curious!
