1 PULL-THRU USER S MANUAL: SECTION 1 PCB DESIGN AND MOUNTING TOOLS REQUIRED Phillips Head Screwdriver ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Lay out, design, and manufacture PCB according to Figure A. The height of any PCB components must fit within the dimensions shown in Figure B on next page. Solder the header from Part # and the mating PXI connector to PCB (IPC-A-610 standard is recommended for PCB design). A 3. 3 TOOLS REQUIRED Phillips Head Screwdriver 1 / 16 punch 3 / 32 Allen Wrench M2 Allen Wrench Hammer ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Use the 1/16 punch and hammer to remove the dowel holding the ejector pin to the bottom of the PXI card (Figure A). Remove the ejector pin (Figure B). Follow Instructions For Mounting with PCB Card on 2-2 OR Instructions for Mounting with Wire on 2-3. Figure A. Remove ejector pin dowel. Figure B. Card with ejector pin removed. 2-1

4 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOUNTING ADAPTER WITH PCB CARD 1. Install the module/pcb assembly into the interconnect adapter (Figure A). Tighten screws to secure. 2. Secure the other half of the module to the assembly with the 4-40 screws provided (Figure B). 3. Press the connector on the PXI card onto the mating connector on the interconnect adapter PCB. Secure using the two M2 screws provided (Figure C). 4. Reassemble the cover plate on the interconnect adapter using a Phillips head screwdriver (Figure D). 5. Using a 3/32 Allen wrench, secure the receiver module to the interconnect adapter frame. Figure A. Install module/pcb assembly. Go to Page 2-4. Figure B. Secure the module/pcb assembly. Figure C. 5 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOUNTING ADAPTER WITH WIRE 1. Remove the top cover from the InterConnect Adapter using a Phillips head screwdriver (Figure A). 2. Remove the module mounting screws from the receiver module using a 3/32 Allen wrench (Figure B). 3. Secure the PXI card to the interconnect adapter frame using the two M2 screws provided (Figure C). 4. Mate the wired connector with the connector on the front plate of the PXI card (Figure D). 5. Reassemble the cover plate on the interconnect adapter using a Phillips head screwdriver (Figure E). Figure A. Cover removed. 6. 6 INSTALL ADAPTER ASSEMBLY INTO RECEIVER 1. Line up card in chassis slot and slide adapter/card assembly fully into chassis (see Section 4). 2. Secure the adapter to the receiver frame with the two captive M3 screws as shown (Figure A). Figure C. Secure the adapter to the receiver frame. 2-4
