1 Teacher Notes Talking Stones is and icebreaker/early chapter/any chapter review. If you chose to MrE at you will receive a free set of stones by return mail FREE of charge. Gather your needed materials. Run your topic circles on white tag board or cardstock. Using E6000, glue a stone over each topic circle. strips. Cut each 'stone circle' out in a square. 2 Teacher Notes First, the rocks/stones may be used as icebreakers, chapter reviews, mid-term review, end-of-year review, any-time stress relief. There are over 124 stone backs. For STONES contact your local *, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or other craft stores and pick up a bag of clear or very transparent stones. There is a pre-done set of questions your own stones, using Louisiana history questions plus a set of circles so that you may use to make your own questions using Arial 5pt or 4.5pt for lettering. Directions include: Gather your needed materials. Run your topic circles on white tag board/cardstock. Using E6000, glue a stone over each topic circle Cut stones glued into strips. Cut each stone out in a square. Cut the excess paper from around each stone. Check each stone to see if areas need more glue. Have each student take a predetermined number of stones (2 to 5 is suggested). Walk and pair with another student. Have them read out one of their Talking Stone prompts, answer and explain. Then have read one of yours. Give the partner the stone they answered. Have each student change pairs with another student and repeat. Continue until all students get to pair with all other students or time/classtime ends.
