In October we offer Beachstone Jewelry and Christmas ornaments m ade from seashells. Star Gazing: A big dark sky with lots of stars is a memorable part of the Weekapaug experience. Join the Naturalist after dark to spot the moon, stars and constellations. Birding by V an: Utilizing the Inn van we will visit locations where we will likely spot seasonal birds through our spotting scope. Talking Birds with the Naturalist: Join our naturalist, Capt. Mark, to chat about the seasonal birds and where and when to spot them. We might even spot some through the lobby. Van Tour to Watch Hill for Sunset: This outing is about an hour long and we typically drive to the lighthouse for big views of the sunset. In the event of overcast sky, we will explore this charming village and its history. Naturalist s Van Outing to Kettle Pond Visitor Center: KPVC is located in a lovely modern building in the woods of Charlestown, which is also the regional headquarters for US Fish & Wildlife. The visitor center features beautiful dioramas and displays that represent various habitats found in the five Rhode Island refuges. Solar Sunday: View the sun through our beautiful scope outfitted with a high- end solar filter. This is a safe way to see sunspots on the surface of the sun. Ocean- view Guided W alk. A quick walk to the overlook at Weekapaug point, where we use our spotting scope to view Block Island, Montauk Point, Watch Hill and Fisher s Island. Meet at front desk. Mark will lead this van outing to the renowned US Fish & Wildlife refuge and carry along our high- end spotting scope. Participants should have up- close views of waterfowl and seals. $60 per hotel guest, $75 for those not staying overnight at the Inn. Brunch with Santa: Enjoy a festive holiday brunch in The Restaurant, while Santa visits the tables and sits for pictures. Brunch 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; Santa will be on- site 10 a.m. 2 p.m. Frozen Meet & Greet with Princesses Elsa & Anna: Meet and m ingle with the stars of Frozen as they sing, play interactive gams and pose for photos. $40 per child/$15 per adult. (Proceeds to be donated to the Johnnycake Center.) Children ages 4 12.
