ORDER N FIELDBUS INTRINSICALLY SAFE CONCEPT (FISCO) APPROVAL FISCO allws f intrinsically safe apparatus t assciated apparatus nt specially examined in such cmbinatin. The criteria fr intercnnectin is that the vltage (Ui r Vmax), the current r and the pwer (Pi r which an intrinsically safe apparatus can receive and remain intrinsically safe cnsidering faults, must be equal r greater than vltage (U, Vc r Vt), the current (l, r It) and the pwer (P r Pmax) levels which can be delivered by the assciated apparatus, cnsidering faults and applicable factrs. In additin, the maximum unprtected capacitance (Ci) and the inductance (Li) f each apparatus (ther than the terminatin) cnncected t the Fieldbus must be less than r equal t 5 nf and uh respectively. In each l.s. Fieldbus segment nly ne active device, nrmally the assciated apparatus, is allwed t prvide the necessary energy fr the Fieldbus. The vltage (U, Vc r Vt) f the assciated apparatus is limited t a range f 14 V t 17.5 V. In this instance Rsemunt has vltage as given in table belw. All ther equipment cnnected t the bus cable has t be passive, meaning that they are nt allwed t prvide energy t the system, except a leakage current f 50 ua fr each cnnected device. Separately pwered equipment needs galvanic islatin t assure that the intrinsically safe Fieldbus circuit remains passive. It is pssible t discnnect the integrated terminatin by means f a jumper lcated inside Rsemunt Electrnic Master - Printed Cpies Uncntrlled - Emersn Prprietary At each end f the trunk cable an apprved infallible line terminatr with the fllwing parameters shuld be installed: R >=90 hm, C <=2.2 uf (recmmended parameters are: hm, C=1.0 +/-0.2 uf) One f the allwed terminatins might already be integrated in the assciated apparatus. Rsemunt is equipped with integrated terminatin, see nte 7. FISCO limits the number f passive devices cnnected t a single segment t 32 devices. If the abve rules are respected, up t a ttal length f 1000 (sum f trunk and spur cables) f cable is permitted. The inductance and capacitance f the cable will nt impair the intrinsic safety f the installatin. ENTITY CONCEPT APPROVAL The Entity cncept allws intercnnectin f intrinsically safe apparatus t assciated apparatus nt specifically examined in cmbinatin as a system. The apprved values f max. pen circuit vltage (U, Vc r Vt), max. shrt circuit current (l, r and max. pwer (P r / 4 r / fr the assciated apparatus must be less than r equal t the maximum safe input vltage (Ui r Vmax), maximum safe input current r and maximum safe input pwer (Pi r Pmax) f the intrinsically safe apparatus. In additin, the apprved max. allwable cnnected capacitance (C r Ca) f the assciated apparatus must be greater than the sum f the intercnnecting cable capacitance and the unprtected internal capacitance (Ci) f the intrinsically safe apparatus, and the apprved max. allwable cnnected inductance (L r La) f the assciated apparatus must be greater than the sum f the intercnnecting cable inductance and the unprtected internal inductance (Li) f the intrinsically safe apparatus.
