2 Abut This Release This Readme file describes the defects fixed in Hyperin Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) as well as the necessary instructins fr installing this release. Release Type This maintenance release is cumulative and incrprates all service fixes t the release. Nte: This service release requires a full re-install f FDM. Supprted Installatin Paths The supprted installatin path fr Release is frm Release and subsequent service fixes and packs nly. Release Cmpatibility See the sectin titled FDM Cmpatibility in this dcument fr FDM Release cmpatibility infrmatin. Fr mst deplyment scenaris, Release is interperable nly with ther Release prducts. Therefre, yu must upgrade all prducts in yur envirnment t Release Hwever, nte these exceptins: If yu are using Perfrmance Management Architect x, yu must upgrade Perfrmance Management Architect t Release In additin, if yu are upgrading t Release in rder t integrate with EPM System Financial Clse Management Release and/r EPM System Disclsure Management Release , sme additinal releases are cmpatible. See Oracle Database Tuning Imprtant: If yu are using Oracle as the database fr yur FDM applicatin, it must be tuned t ensure ptimal perfrmance. Yur cmpany s Oracle DBA must read and fllw the tuning instructins included in the FDM DBA Guide. Failure t tune the database per the FDM DBA Guide will result in pr perfrmance. 2

3 Restrictins The fllwing are restrictins fr FDME custmers: All cmpnents f FDME must be installed and run frm ne server, with the exceptin f RDBMS. FDME is limited t 100 users. Only three features/ptins are available fr FDME: Enterprise Adapter, Tax Adapter, and Batch Lader: Base pricing includes use f the Enterprise Adapter nly. The Tax Adapter and Batch Lader are available with the purchase f the FDM Adapter Suite. Dcumentatin is cmmn t FDM and FDME. Therefre, the dcumentatin includes sme references and examples that will nt apply t FDME. Sme f the infrmatin includes, but is nt limited t, the fllwing: FDME is limited t nly tw dimensins (Accunt and Entity). Sme examples may shw dimensins nt available in Hyperin Enterprise. FDME des nt include a lad balance cmpnent. Lad balance servers and backup servers cannt be specified. All cmpnents f FDME must be installed n ne server. Limitatins FDM Web client supprts nly Internet Explrer 7 and 8. This release f FDM supprts nly Oracle and SQL Server databases. The FDM client des nt supprt intercnnectivity t prir releases installed n ther servers. FDM des NOT supprt the fllwing: Drill back frm Financial Reprting Duble-byte characters Hyperin Shared Services (including SSO authenticatin frm ther EPM prducts) 64-bit servers New Features The fllwing are new features intrduced since FDM 9.3.1: Supprt fr MS Office 14 (Office 2010). Nte: FDM supprts Office 14 fr 32-bit installatins nly. Supprt fr Financial Clse Management with Financial Management and FDM custmers. Updated certificatin fr MTAC platfrm cmpnents t cmply with the Oracle Lifetime Supprt Plicy. 3

Reslved the Out f Strage Space errr that culd ccur in the fllwing cases: Map prcess being run when a large prtin f the surce data is mapped by rules that use script-based mapping r wildcard-based mapping such as 1* t 1* r a* t a* while prcessing a large data file (100,000 plus rws). The * t * wildcard mapping is nt affected by this issue. Validatin prcess being run n an applicatin that has a large number f unique recrds (100,000 plus unique recrds). Exprt prcess being run n an applicatin that has a large number f unique recrds (100,000 plus unique recrds). Lgic prcess being run that returns a new recrd fr each existing recrd when the prcess is being run n an applicatin that has a large number f unique recrds (100,000 plus unique recrds). Reslved an issue where a large number f accunts were being detected by the autmap crrect feature and caused a deadlck n the database. Reslved a prblem with FDM applicatins created using Oracle 10g where the database was unable t update the questins after they were created fr Certificatin/Assessment Questins that have text fields cntaining 900 r mre characters. The Cpy Adapter functin nw wrks as intended when using FDM with Oracle. Fixed defect that did nt allw the Cpy Map dialg t lad if user did nt have access t all lcatins. Fixed defect that prevented users frm submitting certificatins if the changes were made t the cntrl grups after certificatins had been answered. The space character is nw a valid delimiter when cnfiguring an imprt frmat in the Web client. Fixed defect that prevented users t view stred dcuments when mre than ne Internet Explrer windw was pen. The Object Security Level drp-dwn nw displays updated security settings instead f ld security settings when tab is clicked prir t updating the grid. Users can nw add a cnditinal map script in Oracle that exceeds 2000 characters. Fixed defect that caused Multilad batch files t fail when fur r mre lad flags were set. Fixed defect that stpped the zer suppress /batch/multilad frm prcessing crrectly. Multilad prcessing lg is nw accessible frm the Input screen. 4

5 Fixed errr that caused a lckup during prcessing when the user submitted tw cnsecutive lcatins frm the Prcess Explrer screen. When adding a lkup map, the lkup dimensin nw has Surce and Target fields enabled. Deleting a script in the Wrkbench with anther windw pen n lnger generates an errr. Fixed a bug that caused an errr when imprting the Financial Management Intercmpany adapter. Fixed an errr that caused Oracle s Hyperin Essbase System 9 (frmerly Analytic Services) adapter t return nly base members fr member lists. Knwn Issues in Release When exprting large recrds frm FDM int Excel 2007, the fllwing errrs may ccur: Activereprts Excel Exprt Errr. Pages cllectin r RDF file may be crrupt, r "Imprt a Memry. [ ] An errr will be encuntered if a Lad Balancer server grup name begins with a numeric character. Names f Lad Balancer server grups must begin with an alpha character. Internet Explrer may crash when Micrsft Security Update KB18899 has been installed n the user s PC. The patch t fix the security update is available frm Micrsft. Nte: Fr infrmatin abut a specific issue, cntact Hyperin Technical Supprt. Use nly Glbal mde when imprting Multilad files. D nt use Lcal mde. Only XML files exprted frm FDM r later can be imprted int FDM XML files exprted frm x r earlier cannt be imprted. If yu are using Oracle as the database, ensure that yu are using the apprpriate OLEDB prvider. Hard-cded strings in imprt frmats are nt cnverted t upper case upn the Imprt functin. Hard cded strings in imprt frmats must be entered in upper case. Drill back frm Financial Management t FDM is nt supprted. Drill back frm Enterprise 6.x t FDM is nt supprted. Drill back frm Essbase t FDM is nt supprted. Installing Release This release is a service release fr FDM versins x and requires a full install. 1. Uninstall ld versin f FDM 2. Install new versin f FDM 3. Update the FDM integratin adapters 4. Update the FDM reprts 5. Update current applicatins t FDM release Uninstall Old Versin and Install New Versin See the FDM Installatin Guide fr detailed prcedures n uninstalling the ld versin f FDM and installing release Imprtant: After uninstalling ld versin, rebt the cmputer befre installing new versin. 5

Update Applicatins Use the FDM Schema update utility t update the database t the current schema level. T run the FDM Schema Update utility, frm the Windws Start Menu, select Prgrams > Hyperin > Financial Data Quality Management > Wrkbench > Schema Update. Wrking with Financial Clse Management Financial Clse Management release includes the ability t launch three specific FDM pages: Imprt, Multilad, and Jurnals. T cmplete the integratin, yu must dwnlad patch # : Oracle Hyperin Financial Clse Management: Integratin Files fr FDM Release frm My Oracle Supprt. See the readme included with this patch fr additinal infrmatin and cnfiguratin infrmatin. Dcumentatin Updates All dcumentatin assciated with this service release (Admin Guide, Installatin Guide, Reprts Guide, and DBA Guide) are labeled as release Required Third-Party Sftware Excel 2000 is n lnger supprted. References t Excel 2000 d nt apply. Only Excel 2007 and 2010 are supprted fr this release f FDM. SQL 2000 is n lnger supprted. References t SQL 2000 d nt apply. The FDM Install Guide states that FDM Web Server cmpnents require Micrsft.NET Framewrk 1.1. Crrectin: FDM requires.net Framewrk 2.0. Admin Guide Cnditinal Mapping When yu use Cnditinal Mapping, if the Descriptin field is used in the mapping, FDM cannt Drill Up n the mapped value. When searching fr the surce values, multiple rws can be returned with different descriptins. Since the exact descriptin cannt be fund, the Drill Up will nt always return the crrect member. This des nt affect the mapping itself and FDM will map the value crrectly. Oracle recmmends nt using the Descriptin field in cnditinal mapping and instead use a custm dimensin. [ ] 6

Using the mst apprpriate mapping rules can significantly reduce prcessing time when imprting large files. FMxx-xx-x.xml files are adapters fr Financial Management. The file name f the current release f the adapter and the lcatin f the adapter may vary. The mst recent adapters can be dwnladed frm the Oracle E-Delivery site. Registering Adapters Step 2 under the sectin titled Registering Adapters n Page 51 shuld read: DBA Guide 2. Frm the list, select the file (upsenxxx.exe fr Hyperin Enterprise, upsfmxxx.dll fr Oracle's Hyperin Financial Management, EXT-xx-x.xml fr the FDM Tax Extract adapter, r Pull-xxx.xml fr the FDM Pull adapter) and click Open. When using Oracle 11g, use initializatin parameters specified fr Oracle 10g (Chapter 5). 9
