Representatives of many KC-Metro-area Emergency Communications organizations were present including SATERN, Wyandotte County RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service), the American Red Cross, KC HEART (The Kansas City Hospital Amateur Radio Team), ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Services), & MARS (Military Amateur Radio System). Fifty-two people attended! SATERN was one of the sponsors of the event.

6 Salvation Army Provided Meals for Evacuees Affected by Oroville Dam Erosion in California. February 13, 2017 Sydney Fong (916) Lake Oroville, the second-largest manmade reservoir in California after Shasta, registered its lowest elevation ever at 645 feet above sea level on Sept. 7, Last year, on Dec. 9, the lake came close to this record, dipping down to 649 feet. But the recent storms are replenishing the lake, and the elevation on Jan. 19 was 694 feet. An opportunity to serve: Salvation Army personnel provide comfort during fire in Winter Haven, Florida.
