1 March 21, 2018 Dear OAA Members On Thursday March 29 th, OAA will hang the 2018 Photo and Digital Media show at the Alameda County Law Library the rules sheet is attached. o The take-in/show is on Thursday because the Library is closed on Good Friday. o Because this show is only up for a month, entry fees have been reduced to $4. The most recent Oakland Chamber of Commerce Show which went up last week was a big success (almost too many entries). Congratulations to brand new member Elisabeth Koss for her first-place entry! Images of the art in the show are now on our website: The Catalog for the show is attached. Julia Montrond has a solo show of 14 watercolor giclée s at the Espresso Roma Cafe on the corner of College and Ashby. Members Tony Kay and Jenifer Kolkhorst are putting their work together in a show at the San Pablo Art Gallery April 21 st through May 20 th. The flyer with all the details (including the reception on April 21 st ) is attached. Member Iris Sabre (isabre@earthlink.net) puts a lot of effort into the GO FIGURE open studio held regularly at Ar.ti.fact Gallery, 109 W. Richmond Ave. in downtown Point Richmond. The next opportunity to participate is Tuesday March 27, 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The model will be Titania, wearing a Cleopatra inspired dress and in a pose with lots of attitude. This is a great way for you to sharpen your skills in depicting people. 2 ALAMEDA COUNTY LAW LIBRARY PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW March 29th, through April 30th, th Street, Oakland CA Library Hours: M W Th Fr 8:30am-4:30pm, Tue 8:30am-8:30pm, Sat 9am-3:00pm EXHIBIT RULES ALL 2-DIMENSIONAL MEDIA: Photographic and digital projects including iphone photos, color and monochrome images, digitally transformed images, collages etc. are all welcome in this show. CHAIR: Rick Nelson rixingm@gmail.com (925) RECEIVING: Thursday March 29th, 2018 between 10am and 11am at the Law Library, th Street, Oakland CA JUROR: Gene Dominique ACCEPTED WORKS: Pick up at the Library on Monday April 30th, 2018, between 10am and 11am. ENTRIES: The majority of entries will be 8 x 10 minimum up to 30 x 30 maximum. This venue will also allow several larger pieces, please contact the Show Chairman. Up to 4 entries accepted per member. Works restricted to original work. All work must be for sale. To be entered as a single work, any grouping of 2 or more works must be mounted within a single frame which meets the overall size requirements. ENTRY FEE: $4.00 per entry. FRAMING: Frames and mats must be clean, well cut, and sturdy. Entry Forms: Must be filled out completely and affixed to the upper left-hand corner on the back of the entry. AWARDS: First award $100; Second award $50; Third award $25. Merit awards are given at the discretion of the Juror. INSURANCE: Each artist will be required to sign the normal OAA insurance. SALES: All sales made during the show and/or 30days following the close of the show (if the work was seen by the buyer at the show) will be handled by the Sales Chair (Tina Nelson ). OAA policy is that no change will be made in the price (in connection with this show) after the work is accepted. The artist agrees that 30% of the sale price will be taken as a contribution to OAA. Sales tax of 9.25% will be added to all sales.
