1 I m back in the store after a few days off and I m all revived. I went to South Dakota to visit my mom and on the way back I HAD to visit 3 quilt shops. It s so much fun to walk around, talk to other shop owners and see what they are doing and buying. It s exciting to exchange ideas and I get some of my best ideas by visiting with them. I came back with my head full of new projects to show you. However when I got back I walked in the front door and thought to myself the other shops were great, but I really do love our shop the best. We have some great new fabrics in yellow and black. There is also a panel to cut up into placemats that are super fun to make and will add a splash of sunny color to brighten up your kitchen. Our newest pattern from Fabric Café is Pretty Please. We stitched this up with the Savannah fabric line. The really great part is it s super fast and easy and only takes 1 yard each of 3 different fabrics. I am so much in love with this new fabric line called Thistle Farm from Kansas Troubles. I have a small project all scoped out to start working on. I can hardly wait to start cutting into these beauties. We also have charm packs and jelly rolls available. More on page 2

2 If you would like to start a wool collection or need to add to your current one, a wool scrap bag from Moda is a great way to enhance your stash. Karen loved these so much she is working up several small projects and will offer a class on working with wool in the near future. Some brand new Kaffe Fabrics just arrived. These are so bright and pretty I can t wait to start cutting and sewing with them. Ruth is using them in a couple of models. We have a large selection of polka dot fabrics. Nothing says spring like lots and lots of dots. More on page 3

3 When Ruth and I went to fall market we visited a wonderful quilt shop in La Porte, Texas. In their bathroom hung the most wonderful vintage quilt that we both fell in love with. I immediately bought the pattern and Ruth, Sandi and Karen began stitching. I love our version of the Vintage Sampler. We have put together some fat quarter bundles to make your fabric selection easy. I stitched up this fun quilt from the book Striking Strip Quilts. If you are in the store, pay particular attention to the quilting. It s the first time I ever used a ruler on my longarm and I think it came out pretty good. This new yarn Admiral Cat Print just came in from Schoppel and it is super pretty. The great thing about it is that s it s superwash so it does not have to be hand washed. Just toss in the wash machine and dry your garment. We have several new classes scheduled so check out the next 2 pages. OK I am so ready to do some sewing on those new ideas I was telling you about. 4 Classes: Beginner Intermediate Advanced Stashbusters Series 1 Ruth Lowrey Sat May 6 $20 + Supplies 1 4pm Does your stash need some serious reduction? Do you wonder what in the world you are ever going to make from all that fabric you have collected? Well, here is the solution. Bring your sewing machine and your stash (or purchase some from us if yours isn't big enough), and we'll have a free pattern for a small project for you to work with. The pattern will remain a mystery until you arrive for class. Class size is limited, so please sign up early and pick up your supply list. Machine Quilting Ruth Lowrey Sat May 20 OR Sat July 8 $20 + Supplies 1 4pm We ll teach you how to mark, layer, baste and quilt using your own home sewing machine. Build your confidence and begin to quilt your own projects at home. We will cover all the basics and still have plenty of time to practice. Beginning Quilting Wilma Niemann 4 Mondays: June 5,12,19& 26 $50 + Supplies 6 8 pm This class is open to anyone with a desire to learn the art of quilting. The instructor will guide you through all the basic techniques that the beginning quilter will need to successfully complete their first quilt in 4 weeks. Aranami Shawl Chauntel Ensey Sat Apr 15 & 22 from 3:30 5:00 AND May 6 from 10:00 11:30 $30 + Supplies Aranami is Japanese for stormy seas, raging waves. Color and patterning of this shawl reminds us of a winter ocean with foamy, raging waves. Worked in modular technique, this shawl is a great travel project as elements are worked one at a time. Pick your colors and see them transition under your fingers. Crochet 102 Tammy Gonzales Sat May 3 $20+ Supplies 6 8 pm If you have taken our Crochet 101 or if you just want a refresher on some more advanced crochet stitches this class is perfect for you. Cap Sleeve Lattice Top Chauntel Ensey Sat May 13 & June 3, 17 & 24 $50 + Supplies 12:30 2:30pm Great summer top for the advanced beginner as well as the experienced knitter. The pattern, like the sweater, is easy breezy. Knit up the back, over the shoulders and down the front. Two seams and you re done!
