Trim edges of pattern and lay pattern out on table, tape the 2 sheets together. Trace all pieces onto freezer paper, number them as indicated and cut out on the line. Place freezer paper pattern pieces onto flannels. Iron freezer paper pieces to flannel. Keep in mind you will have a ½ seam allowance around each piece. Cut out flannel freezer paper shapes leaving ½ seam allowance on all sides. Trim with a ruler and rotary cutter. Tape foundation fabric over pattern. You can see all your shapes through the foundation. With a medium sharpie pen trace all the shapes. dd numbers to the shapes. Starting with #1, use 505 Spray and Fix to temporarily adhere the flannel shapes to the foundation. Place spray on the non-freezer paper side and then trim only the seam allowance off of shape #2 where it lies overlapping #1. Place and trim #3 shape where it overlaps #2, and so on until you have all of your shapes in place. ll freezer paper pieces should meet edge to edge like a puzzle. Make sure you place them in numerical order. The only seam allowance left showing will be on the outer edge when all shapes are in place. If glue is stuck to your finger and doesn t wash off with hot water and soap, Goo Gone works great. Remove the freezer paper carefully. Using a walking foot, baste with large stitches where edges overlap. This machine stitching will remain before your decorative crazy stitching. Remove after crazy stitches are stitched. Turn project over and sew a basting line just to the outside of the outer edge of square, so you know where to stop your crazy quilt stitches. Turn project over and cut all extra fusible interfacing or foundation away so it will not be touched by your

3 0775, 0576, 0578 & M80 iron when fusing down wool appliqués. Turn again and iron fusible interfacing to wool and flatten entire piece so it looks really nice. Use lots of steam. You are now ready to put on your appliqués. INSTRUCTIONS FOR WOOL PPLIQUÉ ppliqués have been reversed. Using reversed layout, trace appliqués onto correct side of fusible web and cut out fusible just outside of drawn lines. For stems cut a piece of fusible the size of the stem wool pieces. Cut stems to specified sizes, such as Daffodils and Tulip stems at 3 / 16 and Posies at ⅛. Remove paper and place fusible web shapes onto correct wools. Iron lightly with steam. Cut out shapes on drawn lines. Iron appliqué shapes to project using lots of steam. Using up and down presses, keeping your iron moving at all times. Stitch around appliqués using blanket-stitch, or whip stitch the really small pieces. Draw lines with a clover white marking pen. 4 INSTRUCTIONS FOR CRZY QUILT STITCHING We are now ready to add all of our beautiful decorative stitches. Use #5 Valdani Perle Cotton or any other fancy thread can also be used. Have fun with it! The embroidery stitches I use most often are listed below with a lot of combinations put together.
