For 4,48"(07,cm) Windows 54" / GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: If piecing fabric panel is necessary, match the pattern of the fabric. When buying yardage for patterned fabric, one extra repeat is usually needed for each extra length of fabric. A repeat is the distance from one point in the design to the same point in the adjacent design. Install Curtain Rods For loops, cut two pieces of cord, each long enough to fit around your holdback. Bring ends of each cord together; baste. Cut drapery header to the width of lined panel, minus / (.cm). Pin header to lining side of panel / (.cm) from upper edge. Stitch close to lower edge of header. Turn upper edge of panel down along edge of header; press. Baste in place. Views A,B: Install curtain rod on outside of window moulding, following manufacturer s instructions and adjusting height so that the measurement from top of rod to floor is 90 (9cm). Pin one loop to right side of panel at marking, having ends even with side edge. View C,D: 54" / LINING [B] (4"(07cm) Window WidthCut by measurements provided) Install brackets outside of window moulding, following manufacturer s instructions and at desired height. - For Panel Lining, cut two sections, each 47"W x 90"L (0cm x 9cm). - For Panel Lining, cut two sections, each 5W x 90"L (4cm x 9cm) Lay pole across brackets, extending ends evenly. Attach one finial to each end of curtain pole, after hanging curtains. For 6,4"(9,07cm) Windows Piecing Panels & Valances Turn upper edge of panel down along lower edge of header; press. Baste along inner edge of header. For drapes, where piecing is necessary, stitch one Side Section to outer side edge of each Panel. Press seams to one side. For each drape lining, stitch LINING sections in same manner. Pin Contrast Lining to drape, having right sides together and lower edges even. Stitch side and lower edges together in / (.cm). - For Panel Lining, cut two sections, each 5"W x 90"L (cm x 9cm). - For Side Section Lining, cut two sections, each 4"W x 90"L (6cm x 9xcm). Turn in (5cm) on lower edge of each Panel Lining; press. Turn in (5cm) again; press. Stitch. Turn upper edge of drape down over lower edge of header; press. Baste inner edge in place. Pin fringe to right side of each drape, having lower edge of header along inner edge of drape and turning under ends at upper and lower edges. Stitch or sew in place. Stitch swag and swag LINING sections together, leaving an opening for turning. PLEAT PLEAT PLEAT PLEAT PLEAT SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE PLEAT For each pleat, bring lining side of markings together. Stitch from upper edge to / (.cm) below header, stitching /6 (mm) inside marking. With right sides together, pin lining to drape at sides, having lower edge of lining (.5cm) above lower edge of drape. Stitch. Press seams toward drape. On outside, stitch along basting. Baste one INTERFACING to wrong side of each TIE BACK section. With right sides together, fold each tie back in half lengthwise. Stitch, leaving an opening on long side for turning. Turn right side out; press. SLIPSTITCH opening. Using pins, mark pleats and spaces, following diagram below. NOTE: For 4 (07cm and 48 (cm) Window Widths repeat pleat and space sequence as needed. Divide each pleat evenly into three small pleats, creasing each the length of the pleat. Sew pleats together at lower edge of header OR machine stitch across pleats at lower edge. Turn right side out, centering lining over drape; press, pressing in remainder of side edges. Baste upper edge of lining to drape. SPACE PLEAT For each pleat, bring lining side of markings together. Stitch from upper edge to / (.cm) below header, stitching /6 (mm) inside of marking. Apply fringe to right side of tie back along lower edge in same manner as drape. On inside, sew one ring to each upper corner of tie back, as shown. To make pleats on each side of swag, on outside, crease along foldlines. Bring lines of large circles together; baste along seamline. On each end, sew upper and lower edges and folded pleats together. Hang drapes on curtain rod. Pull inner edge of each panel to side, using loop. Mark placement for holdback at desired location on side edge of window moulding. Install holdback at marking, following manufacturer s instructions. WINDOW TREATMENT B Note: Illustrated for 6 (9cm) Window Width. Divide each pleat evenly into three small pleats, creasing each the length of the pleat. Sew pleats together at lower edge of header OR machine stitch across pleats at lower edge. WINDOW TREATMENT C Drapes Prepare Drapes C in same manner as View B, disregarding references to fringe. Pin one hook to each end, having hook toward upper edge, as shown. Slide hook into hole at bottom of ring. Designer s Tip: Each hook can share ring with sides of drape, if desired. Drapes For each drape, turn up 4 (0cm) on lower edge of each fabric Panel; press. Turn in 4 (0cm) again; press. Sew or stitch hem in place. Cut drapery header to the width of lined panel, minus / (.cm). Swag & Jabot Note: Illustrated for 6 (9cm) Window Width. Pin header to lining side of drape / (.cm) from upper edge. Stitch close to lower edge of header. Turn upper edge of drape down over edge of header; press. Baste in place. Sew side of drape to hem, as shown. Designer s Tip: To facilitate straight fall of pleats and smooth hang of hem, thread weighted tape inside drape hem before sewing sides to hem. Pin fringe to right side of each SWAG section between side seamlines, placing header of fringe slightly inside seam allowance on lower edge. Baste in place. Designer Tip: Apply seam sealant to ends of fringe, if desired. Pin fringe to right side of each JABOT section placing header of fringe slightly inside seam allowance on curved inner edge, between seamlines. Baste in place. Hems and Sides For each drape, pin ribbon to each side edge of each fabric Panel, placing outer edge of ribbon, / (.5cm) in from raw edge, ending /(9cm) above lower edge. Stitch long edges in place. Turn right side out, centering lining over drape; press, pressing in remainder of side edges. Baste upper edge of lining to drape. Pin header to inside of valance, / (.cm) from upper edge. Stitch close to lower of header. Turn upper edge of valance down along edge of header; press. Baste in place. Divide each pleat evenly into three small pleats, creasing each the length of the pleat. Sew three pleats together at lower edge of header OR machine stitch across pleats at lower edge. Cover button, following manufacturer s instructions. Turn upper edge of valance down along lower edge of header; press. Sew one button to each pleat, as shown. Turn right side out; press. SLIPSTITCH opening. Turn up 4 (0cm) on lower edge of each drape; press. Turn in 4 (0cm) again; press. Sew hem in place. Pin ribbon to wrong side of each Valance, lapping ribbon / (.cm) over lower edge of valance. Stitch. Open out header. Pin valance to curtain, having right side of curtain over wrong side of valance, upper edge of curtain in crease of fold and keeping side edges even. Baste upper edge of curtain in place. Turn header to inside. Baste lower edge through all layers. Sew side of panel to hem, as shown. Turn in (5cm) on lower edge of Panel Lining; press. Turn in (5cm) again; press. Stitch. Turn ribbon to right side along stitching; press. Baste upper edge in place. Stitch. To make pleats, on inside, crease along foldlines. Bring line of large circles together; baste. On outside, stitch along basting. Tiebacks On upper edge, hand sew edges and folded pleats together. With right sides together, pin side edges of lining to drape sides, placing upper edge of lining at upper markings and lower edge (.5cm) above drape hem. Stitch. Press seams toward drape. Turn in / (.5cm) on each side edge of valance, turning under / (.cm) on raw eage; press. Stitch or sew along inner pressed edge. Measure 40 (0cm) from end of piping cord; mark. Fold one Cover section around remaining cord, as shown. Stitch across cover /4 (6mm) from end. Stitch side edge close to cord, using a zipper foot, slightly stretching cover and being careful not to catch cord in stitching. Using pins, mark pleats and spaces, following diagram below. NOTE: For 4 (07cm and 48 (cm) Window Widths repeat pleat and space sequence as needed. Pin one hook to upper edge of each jabot, as shown. Slide hook into hole at bottom of ring. PLEAT PLEAT PLEAT PLEAT PLEAT SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE Turn cover over exposed cord while drawing out enclosed cord. Cut drapery header to the width of valance, minus / (.cm). SPACE PLEAT Cut off excess cord from stitched end of cover. Pull back raw edges on remaining end, trimming cord / (.cm) from raw edge. Turn in end, close to cord. Sew end together.
