Cutting Measurements include ¼" seam allowances. Border strips are exact length needed. You may want to make them longer to allow for piecing variations. Patterns for appliqué shapes are on page 4. Follow manufacturer s instructions for using fusible web. From light pink print, cut: 2 (12½"-wide) strips. From strips, cut 4 (12½" 11½") rectangles and 3 Large Flowers. From medium pink print, cut: 2 (12½"-wide) strips. From strips, cut 4 (12½" 11½") rectangles and 3 Large Circles. From dark pink print, cut: cut 2 (12½" 11½") rectangles and 3 Large Circles. From cream print, cut: 1 (12½"-wide) lengthwise strip. From strip, cut 5 (12½" 11½") rectangles. 1 (12"-wide) lengthwise strip. From strip, cut 1 (12" 58½") B rectangle. From yellow print, cut: cut 2 (12½" 11½") rectangles. 4 Large Flowers. From green print, cut: 2 (12½"-wide) strips. From strips, cut 4 (12½" 11½") rectangles. From light turquoise print, cut: 1 (10½"-wide) lengthwise strip. From strip, cut 1 (10½" 72") bottom border. 3 (6½"-wide) lengthwise strips. From strips, cut 2 (6½" 77¼") side borders and 1 (6½" 72") top border. 3 Large Flowers. From medium turquoise print, cut: cut 2 (12½" 11½") rectangles. From dark turquoise print, cut: cut 2 (12½" 11½") rectangles and 4 Large Circles. From brown print, cut: 9 (2¼"-wide) strips for binding. 22 (1¼"-wide) strips. From 7 strips, cut 20 (1¼" 2 12½") vertical sashing strips. Piece remaining strips to make 2 (1¼" 2 77¼") side sashing strips and 7 (1¼" 2 58½") horizontal sashing strips. 3 ppliqué 1. Position 1 light turquoise print Flower and 1 dark pink print Circle atop 1 cream print rectangle as shown in Flower Block Diagram. Machine appliqué using pink thread and satin stitch. B Flower Block Diagram 2. In the same manner, make 2 flower blocks using 1 yellow print flower and 1 dark turquoise print circle in each, and 2 flower blocks using 1 light pink print flower and 1 medium pink print circle in each. 3. Place remaining flowers and circles atop cream print B rectangle as shown in Quilt Top ssembly Diagram. Machine appliqué using pink thread and satin stitch. Sew Smart : To reduce bulk in layered appliqué pieces, refer to Sew Easy: Windowing Fusible ppliqué on page 5. Marianne Quilt ssembly 1. Lay out flower blocks, remaining rectangles, sashing strips, and B rectangle as shown in Quilt Top ssembly Diagram. Join blocks, rectangles, and brown print vertical sashing strips into rows. Sew Smart : For perfect alignment when joining rows with sashing, refer to Sew Easy: Sashing lignment on page 6. Liz 2. Join rows, brown print horizontal sashing strips, and B rectangle. dd brown print side sashing strips to complete quilt center. 3. dd light turquoise print side borders to quilt center. dd top and bottom borders to quilt. Finishing 1. Divide backing into 2 (2¾-yard) lengths. Cut 1 piece in half lengthwise to make 2 narrow panels. dd 1 narrow panel to each side of wider panel; press seam allowances toward narrow panels. Quilt Top ssembly Diagram 2. Windowing Fusible ppliqué Choose a lightweight sewable fusible product.

Trace appliqué motifs onto paper side of fusible web, making a separate tracing for each appliqué needed (Photo ). 2. Roughtly cut out drawn appliqué shapes, cutting about ¼" outside drawn lines (Photo B). 3. Window fusible by trimming out the interior of the shape, leaving a scant ¼" inside drawn line (Photo C). Follow manufacturer s instructions to fuse web side of each shape to wrong side of appliqué fabric. 4. Cut out appliqués, cutting carefully on drawn outline (Photo D). Only a thin band of fusible web frames the shape. 5. Peel off paper backing (Photo E). Position appliqué in place on background fabric, and follow manufacturer s instructions to fuse shapes in place (Photo F). Sashing lignment Follow these easy instructions for perfect alignment when joining rows with sashing

From line, measure the finished width of one block (11" for Cosmopolitan).

From line, measure the finished width of one block (11" for Cosmopolitan). Mark line across sashing strip (Photo ). 2. From line, measure the finished width of sashing (¾" for Cosmopolitan) and mark line across sashing (Photo B). 3. Continue marking each sashing strip with the finished width of blocks and sashing (Photo C). 4.
