1 HONOLULU EDITION Chartered November 3, 1967 October 2017 Vol. 9, No. 10 Letter from the President Aloha everyone! I would like to thank all of you for entrusting me to lead our organization this year. I am so honored to be your Chapter President. Your newly installed Board of Directors is so thrilled to lead our journey together. We are looking forward to continuing all the hard work of the previous boards. Our mission this year is to change lives through literacy. Dr. Seuss says The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you ll go. This holds true in our everyday lives and what we strive to achieve with our two scholarship programs, EWISP and ASIST. Our upcoming board retreat will be on Sunday, October 1 at member firm Sheraton Waikiki. We look forward to a great day to strategize on our upcoming year and continue to focus on the 3Cs (Connections, Career and Community). Please join us on Wednesday, October 11 at The Coconut Club at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. In support of our literacy campaign, I would like to challenge each of our members to bring a children s book to our October membership meeting to be donated at our Reading Rally on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Pauoa Elementary School. I look forward to a great year with you.
