I am trying to put together a response for folks who are interested in the plane. Unfortunately I have used up my phone time patiently answering many many questions...mostly not about the plane. I did not realize I was opening myself up to a "ask a pilot anything" line. Although it has been enjoyable up to this point, I have been forced to figure out a better method of relaying info. So...to try and be more efficient, I will try to hit the top questions. I am also finding that people do not read through what I have posted online. Please read through my info before calling.!. #. $. %. &. '. Did you do the work? No. What is the quality of work? High. I have looked at enough Kitfox builds to see that the builder put much time, energy, and professional work in to the project so far. Actually, I probably should not use "professional" as an adjective. The FAA does not want any professionals working on your experimental plane. Please use online resources if you have questions about becoming a pilot, LSA vs experimental, the 51% rule(you are not required to be the person to complete 51% of the work to have the ability to do your own annuals) If you are wondering about this, please refer to EAA and FAA documents online. Do I have pictures and builders log? No. The pictures which were shared with me originally went into my junkmail. I did not retrieve them before they were automatically deleted. The builders log was not in the box of documents which came with the plane. What happened to the builder? He has passed away. Who did I buy the plane from? The builders wife and son. What is the status of these items? I have requested the son to send my copies of all of the pictures. I have also requested the builders log.

After speaking with all the widow, son, and a local Kitfox person who knew some things, I concluded that they were afraid of the liability of selling a partially built plane. She was originally going to take the whole project to the landfill because she was afraid. The local kitfox person talked her out of it. Will you be able to obtain these documents? I hope so. Why did you list it before figuring out all of this stuff? That's a good question. Will you sell it as is? Yes Will you pass on any documents you obtain from the widow and son? Yes What about general questions as far as Kitfox? There is enough information for a person to spend hundreds of hours becoming informed about everything Kitfox. I personally do not have the time to spend passing on all the information to all of the people who would rather speak with a person rather than research. (As you may have noticed, I have spoken for many hours already since the ad was first posted last week). I do not want to be rude to people on the phone; as a result, I have spent many hours talking to people about many things which do not have anything to do with the sale of the Kitfox. Why do you not want to finish it and fly a IV with a 912 rather than your current plane which is a III with a 582? I am having too much fun flying. I would rather fly than work on this project. If I did not have my III, I would be finishing this kit. What kind of builder has worked on the project so far? The work is very precise and above average. He was meticulous. If the fit on a part was not to his standards, he had Kitfox send him another one. The work shows this attention to detail. Are there other people who are interested? Yes Have I had anyone look at it? Not yet Can I come to look at it? If you are serious about buying it. If you would just like to look at a kitfox, please contact your local EAA chapter and see if there are other Kitfoxes in your area. Again, I have been overwhelmed with the demand for information on airplanes, kitplanes, Kitfox planes, and flying in general. I wish I had time to chat with everyone about all of these things because I love talking about them; I do not have that much free time though unfortunately. Do I have all of the parts which came with the plane? I believe the kit to be complete. All parts have been grouped and put in containers. Do you have anything else to go with the plane? Depending on the needs of the buyer, the instruments and the avionics are available for negotiation. They are pictured in the pictures online. What needs to be purchased? Avionics, electrical, and prop. I would also consider upgrading to Grove or Cabane landing gear.

3 #!. ##. #$. #%. #&. #'. #h. #i. What do I think about flying Kitfox aircraft? They are a blast. Most fun I have had. We have trailered the III all over the US with our camper. Pull the camper in. I can go from trailer to takeoff in one hour. They also make trailers which could cut that time down by half. Is the engine a 0 hour overhaul or a 0 hour brand new? It is brand new. Never turned over. Nothing has been added as far as fluids. The manifold seals were intact when I purchased it. I replaced them with masking tape to keep openings covered. When did I purchase it? 3 years ago. Where has it been stored? In my garage. The wings are down at my hanger in Longmont CO. The plane has always been stored in climate controlled conditions. I would not have purchased it if the plane was not stored properly. Can I crank over the engine? No The engine will be as is. Do you guarantee the engine? Although I believe the engine to be "flawless", I will not guarantee it in any way. There is an order and a procedure to go from "crated new engine from factory" to a running engine. The person purchasing the airplane and engine will be responsible for doting i's and crossing t's to achieve this with the recommended procedure from rotax. What prop were you going to purchase? IVO As I get other questions, I will try to expand this info sheet. If you would like to look at the plane but need me to let you know the status on build pictures and log before seriously considering the purchase, let me know. If someone wants to purchase as is, let me know. I plan on giving the previous owner's son a little bit of time to accomplish sending me pics at the very least. I have been told that it would be possible to document at this point the build. That is the minimum that I would like to obtain. If there are more than one interested parties who want to purchase this project, I will give preference to the one who commits first. If they commit at the same time, I will give preference to the person who has taken the time to know what they are getting into. Thanks for your interest. 4 The following is from Barnstormers Kitfox model Serial #1556 Rotax 912/80hp Serial # History This Kitfox was purchased from the son of the builder. His dad purchased it directly from Skystar aircraft in 10/1991. The engine was purchased new from Skystar 2/1994 and is still factory sealed. Major build tasks completed All fabric work on the wings and fuselage is done using polyfiber products and include a UV-protecting aluminum undercoat. At today's prices this represents approximately $3000 in materials and hours of labor. The quality of work is exemplary. Everything is painted Insignia white. The plywood floor is in with rudder pedals, sticks and control rigging complete. Fuselage was fully welded and powder coated red by the factory. Wings were fully constructed by the builder. No rib stitching. 13 gallon optional fuel tanks installed in both wings. Heavy duty tailwheel installed. Rotax 912 Engine is on the motor mount with all oil and coolant plumbing completed including belly radiator. This project has an estimated 1000 or more hours of highest quality labor as it sits today. The project has been kept in a climate controlled workshop since it was started years ago. Major build tasks remaining to be done Attach flaperon hangers and fasten flaperons to wings. Flaperons are still coated with original protective plastic coating Install rudder, elevator and horizontal stabilizer. All are completely covered, painted with all fittings covered with protective tape. Electric system, battery, regulator and desired equipment. Install polycarbonate for windshield and doors included with kit. Trim, paint and install cowling. Kit includes complete exhaust system option which must be installed.
