2 Curvy Yoga Recommended BizB Resources This is a curated list of all the biz related boosters that have helped me grow Curvy Yoga. I ve either worked with these people, taken these programs or know them so well that I m willing to vouch for them. Enjoy Biz Blogs that Help Me Immensely Kate Courageous, Your Courageous Life: Kate writes about an array of topics, including marketing for life coaches. I find that most of what she suggests is highly relevant for yoga teachers. I also recommend Kate s digital program, The Coaching Blueprint. Nathalie Lussier: Nathalie is another one who just knows her online biz marketing, hands down. She gives lots of great, free tutorials on her blog. Amy Porterfield, Social Media Strategist: She literally wrote the book on Facebook marketing. Book $100 Startup, Chris Guillebeau. $100 to start up your biz? Need I say more? The Fire Starter Sessions, Danielle LaPorte. Ready to refine your mission and get inspired to get going? Danielle is your gal. Legal Guide for Starting & Running a Small Business, NOLO. Everything you need to know. The Referral Engine, John Jantsch. Are referrals important for yoga? Heck to the yeah Turning Pro, Steven Pressfield. Take your work to the next level. 3 Fabulous Support BSETC: This is my go-to team. Erin Blaskie & her magical crew do just about everything and they do it all fabulously: any/all web needs, graphic design, copywriting, etc. Copywriters & Web Folks Alexandra Franzen: OMG. I d heard Alex was good, but folks she is actually out of this world When you re ready to take your website copy to the next level, she s your gal. But she books up at least 6 months in advance, so plan accordingly. Proof Branding: These are the fine folks behind both incarnations of my website. They re local in Nashville but work with people from all over the world. If you need help clarifying your brand and getting a snazzy website, I definitely recommend them. Shenee Howard: I haven t worked with Shenee personally, but she s a good friend, and I never hear anything but awesome feedback on her work. If anything, just sign up for her blog and newsletter I always learn something from her about branding. Biz & Marketing Whizzes Marie Forleo: Marie is well known for her highly successful course, B-School. I was a B- School participant in the summer of 2012, and I learned so much. I really wish I would have taken this when my biz was getting off the ground, but even a couple years in, I still learned a ton. Also, don t miss Marie s weekly (and free) Marie TV episodes this lady knows her biz and marketing Racheal Cook: This lady is the heart and brains behind The Yogipreneur. She helps yoga teachers (and small heart-centered businesses of all stripes) get strategic She is always in the know about what s working best in yoga these days. I recommend her course, Conscious Business Design, and/or working with her 1:1. She also has tons of awesome free resources, so be sure to get on her mailing list and check out her free teleseminars. 4 Other People & Programs I Love Amy Ippoliti: Amy is on fire for professional development in yoga, which is a goal that I wholeheartedly endorse. I m a graduate of 90 Minutes to Change the World, which is an excellent program in building a local teaching following. Leslie Kaminoff: I m a graduate of Leslie s Yoga Anatomy course (the Principles version). Leslie s individualized approach to teach completely changed how I approach my own teaching. Tara Sophia Mohr: Tara knows just what women need to step boldly into their dreams. Her blog is powerful, and so is her signature program, Playing Big. Get Yo self Organized Satori: Are you working with lots of 1:1 clients? Satori is what I use for working with my certification students, and I can t even tell you how much time it saves me every day. Plus, their customer service is awesome Google Docs: Need a quick and easy way to share documents? Google Docs lets you store, share and edit documents. Perfect for getting feedback on blog posts, class descriptions, etc. Doodle: Easy scheduling with 1:1 clients or others and, it s free Toodledo: I use this every day to manage what I ve got going on. Asana: This seems like one that yoga teachers can t be without, right? This one s newish to me, but so far I m digging it for project management. Eventbrite: Want to market an event on your own while collecting sign-ups and money? Eventbrite has gotcha covered. MailChimp: What I use to manage my e-newletters and mailing list. Free for up to 2000 subscribers. Curvy Yoga 3

5 Wordpress: If you re setting up a new website, I highly recommend Wordpress. It s fairly intuitive to use (after the initial growing pains, of course), and there is tons of online help available. In addition, they have myriad crisp, good looking templates that you can use for free Woo Themes: If you don t find a free template that you like, you can always try a paid one. I used one of the Woo Themes for Teachasana, so I like the templates on this site, but it s hardly the only one. If you don t find anything here, keep googling. WuFoo: Need an easy to use form for your website that also looks crisp and clean? Look no further than WuFoo. You can get up to 3 forms for free (which is usually more than enough). PicMonkey: If you need to edit the size of images for your blog, website, Facebook timeline cover photo, etc., this is a very handy tool. No need to know Photoshop (or pay for it). Hoot Suite: Want to use social media but don t want to have to be on there every day? This site gives you the ability to schedule your Facebook status updates and tweets. Google Reader: Trying to keep up with some yoga or body image blogs? Subscribe to them in Google Reader I can t even tell you how much time this saved me. Evernote: This site is such a good way to store notes. I keep all of my vignettes (small sequences) and class plans in here. I have them separated by category (hip opening, heart opening, standing, etc.), so I can find them at a moment s notice. Survey Monkey: Want to take a quick poll of your students to see what time your new class should be? Or if they re into that workshop you re considering offering?
