SUPPLIES: Americana Acrylic Matte Spray Finisher #70836 Americana Drying Time Extender #83131 (to aid with thinning) DecoArt Paint Pouncers (Sponges) #70824 DecoArt Dura Clear Gloss Varnish #87393 (optional) A piece of a soft cloth, such as a piece of an old T- shirt or sock. BRUSHES: Papillon by the Artist s Club: Highlighter Set (4 piece) #20173 (The ¼ and ½ sizes were used.) Round 2, #20158 Script Liner 10/0, #20137 Shader 6, #20127 Shader 10, #20130 PREPARATION: There is no specific prep for these resins pieces as they are ready to paint. PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS: GHOST Base coat the entire ghost with Sand as an undercoat. (This makes it easier to apply your Warm White). Once the Sand coat has dried, Rebase the ghost with Warm White and let this dry as well. With one of the smaller sponge pouncers, pounce Warm White over the entire ghost. This builds up the white color quickly and also creates a bit of texture. Let dry completely. Thin a bit of Lavender and paint into the creased areas. Wipe back with your cloth if necessary, leaving the Lavender only in the creases. Retouch with Warm White if necessary. The eyes are rebased in Warm White. Irises are done in Blue Harbor and pupils are done in Lamp Black. Add tiny Warm White dots to each eye. Cheeks are drybrushed with Boysenberry Pink. (If you happen to get this too dark, simply go back over it with Warm White.) Tongue is done in Boysenberry Pink. (Avoid painting the crease in the tongue). Fill in the stars with Salem Blue, leaving the Lavender area show around the crease of the stars. Paint his bow tie in Blue Harbor and drybrush with Salem Blue. Avoid the creases in the tie, or reinforce the Lavender in the creases. HIS CAT Base coat the entire cat in Lamp Black. Drybrush the cat with Blue Harbor. Drybrush the tips of his ears and his muzzle with Warm White. His eyes are painted solidly with Irish Moss. Pupils are Lamp Black. Fangs are solid Warm White. Tongue is solid Tomato Red. His bottom lip is solid Blue Harbor and his nose is solid Burnt Orange. 2 artistsclub.com

3 MUMMY Base coat the entire mummy with Sand, you may want to thin this a bit as you want to fill in all the creases and details. Let dry, then drybrush with Warm White. Now we need to create a wash of Canyon Orange. Paint the entire mummy with this Canyon Orange wash; be sure to fill in all crevices and creases. Let dry. Drybrush again with Warm White. Drybrush cheeks with Tomato Red. Tone these back down with Warm White if necessary. Rebase his eyes with Warm White and add Lamp Black pupils. Dot each eye with a tiny Warm White dot. Nose and the inside of his mouth are painted in Lamp Black. I randomly choose different teeth to paint solidly in either Irish Moss or Marigold. Bats on the front are painted solid Lamp Black. 4 His hatband is painted solidly in Burnt Orange. Drybrush with Canyon Orange and highlight in Marigold. The rest of the hat is based solidly in Black. Drybrush over the Black parts with Georgia Clay. The buckle is painted solidly in Marigold. His cape is based solidly in an equal mix of Georgia Clay and Tomato Red. (Be sure to fill in all the creases!) Drybrush over the cape in Scarlet and then again with Canyon Orange. Wet brush over the bow (avoid the creases) with Canyon Orange. HIS OWL Base coat the entire owl in Dark Chocolate. Drybrush over the owl with Sable Brown and then again with Cashmere Beige to highlight. Reinforce Cashmere Beige on his chest. Let dry. Thin some Lamp Black paint to create a wash. Paint this over the entire owl and wipe back with a soft cloth (as if you were antiquing it). Drybrush again with Cashmere Beige if needed. Eye are painted solidly with Olive Green and dotted with Lamp Black. His beak is painted solidly with Canyon Orange and his toes are dotted with Marigold. 4 artistsclub.com

5 FRANKIE Base coat Frankie s head and hands with an equal mix of Hauser Medium Green and Irish Moss. Apply two coats for complete coverage. Then drybrush over these same areas with Irish Moss (alone) and then again with Olive Green to highlight. Add thinned Hauser Dark Green to the creases and crevices on his face and hands, then wipe back so the color only stays in the creases. Let dry. Cheeks are drybrush with Canyon Orange. His eyes are based in Warm White with Lamp Black pupils. I added a tiny Warm White dot to each eye. The inside of his mouth is done in Lamp Black. His teeth are done solidly in Marigold. His bolts are done solidly in Lavender. His hair is done solidly in Lamp Black. Base coat his pants solidly in Victorian Blue (remember to get into the creases). Drybrush with Blue Harbor and highlight with Warm White. Thin some Midnite Blue and apply this to the creases. Wipe back allowing the color to be in the creases only. Frankie s hat is done in almost the same manner as the pants. Paint the hat band first using Dark Chocolate. Drybrush over the hatband with Sable Brown. Then paint the remainder of his hat with Victorian Blue. Dry- artistsclub.com 5

6 brush with Blue Harbor and highlight with Warm White. (I reinforced the Warm White on the top as the hat as well). With your thinned Midnite Blue, shade both above and below the hatband and wipe back. His jacket is base coated solidly in an equal mix of Dark Chocolate and Sable Brown. Drybrush over the jacket with Sable Brown (only). Highlight with Cashmere Beige. Thin some Dark Chocolate to reinforce the creases on the jacket, such as around his arms and under his collar. His vest and his pumpkin are done using the same colors. Base coat both solidly in Burnt Orange. Drybrush with Canyon Orange and highlight with Marigold. Thin a bit of Georgia Clay to shade down the center of his vest and between the creases ( ribs ) of the pumpkin. Facial features on the pumpkin are all done in Lamp Black and his teeth are done in Marigold. The top of the pumpkin stem (in Frankie s hand) is painted solidly with Dark Chocolate. All buttons are done in Lamp Black. His undershirt is done in Lamp Black and his shoes are base coated solidly in Lamp Black as well. Lightly drybrush a bit of Warm White over the top part of his shoes. Tone this down by adding a bit of Lamp Black to your brush and going over those areas again. Base coat his bow tie in solid Lavender. Drybrush over the tie with Blue Harbor (avoiding the creases). GROUND BASES FOR ALL The ground base for each bobble-head are all done exactly the same. Base coat all solidly with Hauser Medium Green. Let dry. Create a thin wash of Dark Chocolate and wash over each base (doing one at a time and making sure you have filled in all the creases, etc ). While damp, wipe back with a soft cloth as if you were antiquing them. Let dry completely. Drybrush each base with Hauser Medium Green and then drybrush patches over each base with Burnt Orange and then again with Marigold. If these colors appear too bright, simply drybrush back over them with Hauser Medium Green to tone them down. 6 artistsclub.com

7 FINISHING: Once our bobble-heads are completed and dried, we will want to seal them! I spray sealed mine with Americana s Matte Spray Finisher. Once this has dried, you have the option of adding Dura Clear s Gloss Varnish to make certain areas shine! I added the Glossy sealer to the following: Frankie s eyes, bolts, teeth (both his and the pumpkin s) and to all his buttons. On the Ghost, his eyes, tongue, stars and also the cat s eyes, nose, tongue and fangs. On the Mummy, to his eyes and also the owl s eyes. His teeth and the owl s beak. To the hat buckle and also to the bats on the front. Once this has dried, these fun little guys will be ready to display!! Love those bobbling heads!! Thank You. Sharon Bond artistsclub.com 7
