Sponsors, judges, pencillers, arena crew, scorers, committee and of course all of our riders, it was fabulous to see everyone working together to enjoy all things dressage in the South East. Well done to our Winter Series Champions Nikki Ballinger, Amity Hancock, Jess Revell, Kristine Hancock, Kim Zohs, Tara Batt and Michelle Dupree. The AGM was also held during the lunch break and a new and enthusiastic committee elected for Amanda Lock, Michelle Dupree, Kim Zohs, Margie Stuart, Sue Thornley, Lisa Hurrell, Colleen Smith, Kristine Hancock, Tara Batt and Yasmin Black. The club has decided to continue our monthly rallies through September and October, meeting on the 4th Sunday of the month. The September rally will include arena time as well as mock workouts for those wishing to hone their skills and get some practice before the show season starts. If you are interested in attending please comment on the MSEDC facebook page, president@msedc.com.au or phone $10 for the day! WHO S THIS?! Yes none other than current World Champion Charlotte Dujardin having a catch up with our own Susan Thornley! Nikki Ballinger receiving the Baker Family Pumpkin Patch M e m o r i a l Award from Priscilla Baker at the 2014 MSEDC Winter Series.
2 RIDEWRITE Clare Masters Games 26th - 29th March HRCAV CLASSES AT AGRICULTURAL SHOWS The 2015 Masters Games will be held in Clare from March 26th-29th. Check out the Masters Games website to stay up to date with all of their latest information and entry forms! Have you seen the new look EA website - check it out! BE SURE TO SUPPORT THE GOROKE & NARACOORTE SHOWS HRCAV SHOW HORSE CLASSES. WANTED - NARACOORTE SHOW GATE VOLUNTEERS Each year members of the MSEDC give an hour or two of their time to work on the admission gate at the Naracoorte Show or help set up the dressage arena for the dressage competition to be held the next day at the Horse Show. In return, the MSEDC receives 2 days of free hire of the Naracoorte Showgrounds. This means that we don t have to pass on the costs of ground hire to our members. If you can help on Saturday October 18th, please Amanda at alocklinwood@bigpond.com or phone Thankyou!!

4 Committee Chatter Meetings The 2015 committee have had their first meeting and are finalising the calendar for the next 12 months. Many suggestions have been put on the table...stay tuned for updates! Meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month. If you have an agenda item or would like to attend a meeting, please contact a committee member. We welcome new ideas and items of interest for our members. Travel One jet-setting committee member has been enjoying the wonderful sites of the World Equestrian Games. We heard she had a chat and a cuppa with a certain British dressage star...amongst other intriguing encounters! We are looking forward to Sue s return and the many photos and experiences she has to share. Royal Adelaide Show Congratulations to committee member Colleen Smith and daughters Lucinda and Melanie on their recent successes at the Royal Adelaide Show with their team of horses. Many riders from the South East attended the 175th Show and punched above their weight in a wide range of classes - well done everyone! A number of club members and their families were also involved in other sections of the show including cattle, sheep and poultry as competitors and also committee members, stewards and chaperones! It s great to see everyone contributing to this great SA event and enjoying the company of other like-minded people from across the state and beyond. Dressage and HRCAV Show Horse classes at local Agricultural Shows A number of the South East Agricultural Shows are holding dressage classes at their events (Official and Restricted). See the calendar (overleaf) for show dates and contact details. Both Goroke & Naracoorte Agricultural Shows will also be running unofficial HRCAV showhorse rings at their events - see show schedules for details. Be sure to support these societies in their efforts to increase HRCAV classes in the SE & Border areas and hopefully we will see these events made official in 2015 and perhaps some other shows following their lead! New horse Excitement for club member Ann Dodd on the acquisition of a new ride. We look forward to seeing Ann out and about over the coming months. Membership fees It was agreed by all present at the AGM in August to raise the MSEDC membership fees by $10. The basis for the fee increase was centred around the rise in the cost of insurance. Club website The new club website is up and running. We hope to be able to offer online entry for events and online payment options for membership and events over the coming months. Stay tuned to the website and facebook page for updates!
