2 TREILLAGE Treillage is French for trelliswork although the meaning is more complex. Treillage refers to trellis of a highly developed form both artistically and architecturally. The Dutch and French achieved a high level of refinement in the 17th century creating arbors, galleries, summerhouses and more with a keen eye for proportion and decoration. At FINEHOUSE we are reviving the art while utilizing modern materials and methods. When we speak of Treillage we are referring to the entire assembly of component parts used to create a project of excelling, refined beauty. Our approach to creating beautiful Treillage is multifaceted: First we design component parts that are well proportioned and carefully detailed, then we pre-engineer the components so that they will fit together perfectly at the site and finally we pre-manufacture the parts to exacting standards using the finest materials. 3 TRELLIS SCREENS Trellis Screens are the pierced walls of classic architectural origin. At FINEHOUSE we have created the finest selection of Trellis Screens available. We offer an unsurpassed choice of sizes, gauges and patterns. Our Trellis Screens and components are crafted with the finest woods, copper flashings and wrought iron fittings. All trellis is available unfinished or pre-finished in a choice of colors. copper cap on rails milled edge details Spline & Dado connection finish in choice of stains opening, pattern & gauge options weep through rail detail Seen above is our arched buttress, typically used to make the transition from one height of trellis to another ( 4' to 6' for example ). The arched buttress may also be used as a flanking element on each side of a gate or entry. To decorate your Trellis Screens you may choose from a selection of arches, festoons and transoms as seen below. These components fit above the primary trellis sections and may have a different field pattern for contrast. FESTOON ROMAN ARCH SCREEN PATTERN OPTIONS Our wide selection of screen patterns and gauges will allow you to create just the perfect garden wall or secret garden. Consider the possibilities when we speak about alternating patterns and window sizes. 4 COLUMNS, POSTS & PEDESTALS capital column shaft base Round columns and square posts are available in many sizes. Round columns have a classic taper and square posts are uniform. Pedestals are scaled according to the specific project. cornice pedestal die plinth grade Post Core Columns, posts and pedestals are available with different face styles and a selection of capitals and bases. You may decorate freestanding posts with balls, urns or acorns. SMOOTH PANELLED FLUTED RUSTICATED ARCHES, PEDIMENTS & LINTELS Arches, pediments and lintels are designed to be used with columns to create arbours and entry features. Shown below left are some typical examples of the elements that are available. Shown below right is an example of a traditional pediment and column assembly with an arched spandrel and impost. 5 ARBOUR From the orient to Renaissance Italy and Baroque France the Arbour has played an important role in the garden. At FINEHOUSE we provide the component parts so that you may create your own special place draped in vines and surrounded by plants. The Gothic screens, arched spandrel and finial further complement the design. The Arbour may be as simple as 2 arches and 4 columns or as complex as the example to the left. In classical architecture there are many examples of doors that have inspired our designs. At FINEHOUSE we have created a collection of gates influenced by Baroque, Gothic and Roman patterns. Assembled with quality materials and modern joinery techniques, these may be the finest gates available. 7 PERGOLA The Pergola as supplied by FINEHOUSE is a flexible design building system. What this means is that we supply you with the guidelines and building components for designing your own project. The Pergola may be attached to the home or freestanding, it may have round columns or square, there is a selection of lintels, rafters, purlins and other options. You determine the layout and component parts, we then engineer, fabricate and supply the perfect pergola for you.
