L3T 6K9 Tel: Fax: Custom Wooden Stairs and Railings Dear Prospective Client: Osbre Ltd. was established in 1979 and has been in the same ownership ever since. We manufacture strictly wooden stairs and hand railings, and do so in the hands-on manner of old world tradition. Computers aid in the design stage but each item is custom crafted to your specifications. We manufacture stairs and railings for both builders and individual home owners, but only in the custom home industry. Each stair and railing is the end result of consultation between home owners, designers and ourselves. We do not do any type of mass production work whatsoever. Our shop is capable of designing and creating anything from a simple inexpensive basement staircase to the most elaborate staircases you can dream up. The following pages will give you an idea of the types of products that we have provided for others. If you don't see what you are looking for here, please present your ideas to me. The following pages show the standard caps. Rail caps type A and B are available in both 2 1/2" and 3 x 1 3/4" Rail caps type C, D and E are standard as 2 7/8" wide x 2 3/4" high. They are also available wider, if preferred. The type Fs and type Is rail caps are 3" wide x 2 1/8" high. These caps are favourites for wood and iron rail systems. They are also available in 3 1/4" (Fsl) and 3 1/2" (Fsxl) widths. Other cap shapes can be made, for example, to match existing situations. Rail caps are available in any species of wood.

It is available in 1 1/4", 1 3/4" and 2 1/8" standard sizes. #2 and #6 are the Provincial style, available in 1 1/4", 1 3/4" and 2 1/8". #3 is the Colonial style picket, available in 1 3/4" and 2 1/8". #5 is called Streamline Twist style, available in 1 3/4". #8 is a simple 1" x 1" square picket. #9 is a rectangular 1" x 1 1/2" picket. #12 is a turned picket from 3/4" to 1 1/4" taper. #12L is a turned picket from 3/4" to 1 5/8" taper. #13 and #13T are Victorian spiral turnings, available in 1 3/4". #15 is 1 1/4" with fluted corners, (also available with bevelled corners #14). #16 is a French Provincial style, with a 1 3/4" base and 1 1/2" top. #17 is a custom turning with hand carved detailing. This one is 1 1/2". #18 is a Biedermeier turning, available in 1 1/4". #19 is a tight rope turning, available in 1 3/4". #20 is a loose rope turning, available in 1 3/4". #21 is a Mediterranean style, available in 1 3/4". #22 is 1 3/4" with bevelled corners and centre fluting. #25LT and #25ST are Victorian fluted pickets, available in 1 3/4". All pickets are available in any wood material. Newel posts are standard in 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" but can be made any size. Iron Picket #4, #7, pl (plain), #10, #10d (double), #11, #11d, #14, #14d, #23, #23d & #24 are a small example of iron pickets available.
