5 Steps Five steps to specs: 1. Pre-qualify the project 2. Select Framing Elements 3. Select Door and Door Hardware 4. Select Glass Insert sizes and color 5. Select Electrical and Data components 3

Design and Installation Planning Proper planning and preparation is key to successful and profitable Clear Wall projects. Take the time to fully understand the customer s needs and requirements. Use the Budget Estimator tool to pre-qualify the project and select the product that suits the client's price parameters. Have their Request for Bid documentation on hand when performing site surveys and during design and installation. It is critical to document all decisions made from start to finish. Installation and Trendway Field Support Trendway offers Field Technical Support for a nominal fee. Certified Trendway Technicians can take field measurements, train and assist during the actual installation at the customer location. Using this resource assures accurate product design and planning, as well as fast, expert installation. Contact the Trendway Architectural Product team for more details. 4

Before You Begin Use the AP Budget Estimator tool to generate pricing for customer approval. Clear Wall measurements are based on center-to-center locations. If you are working with an existing space, you must make an onsite inspection to determine the ceiling height and amount of floor runout within the area where product will be installed. See pages 6 to 9. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP OF ANY SUCCESSFUL CLEAR WALL INSTALLATION. While you (or a certified installer or Trendway Technician) are at the site measuring the ceiling height and floor runout, it is also a good idea to inspect for building mechanicals and utilities that may affect the installation and need to be addressed prior to placing the order. See pages Utilize the AP Budget Estimator's Building Site Condition Checklist to ensure you have all necessary information. If you are working with new construction, note that the areas of concern noted above may not be able to be addressed at the time of pre-order quotation, but will affect the final outcome of the installation. Be prepared to address them prior to placing the order. For pre-order quotation purposes, all new construction requests for quotes must be accompanied by a cad model of the space with the partition location and type of Architectural Wall Product clearly noted. This should come from a licensed interior designer or architect to ensure all applicable codes have been addressed. Ceiling height a critical measurement Measurements must be taken on the final site floor treatment (after carpet or other flooring is installed) for accuracy. IMPORTANT: Measure ceiling height at every door location. Measure ceiling heights every 10', along the line the wall will run. If there is variance greater than 1/2" over a 10' measurement, take additional measurements at 5' intervals. Specify ceiling heights in 1/8" increments. Note heights accurately on the floor plan. 5

Space Planning First, define the location of the partition run. Clear Wall is 3-1/4" thick, so using construction lines that are offset by 1-5/8" is a good place to start (center of Glass Insert). (Step 1, page 7.) Once the location of Clear Wall has been determined, the framing layout and elevations can be developed using CAP, GIZA or other office product planning software that is supported with Trendway symbol libraries. Locate all vertical elements (vertical posts and door sections) The horizontal beams can be added last, using the 2020 Auto Hardware function (Step 2, page 7). Plan the Glass Inserts, based on the sizes established by the vertical elements (Step 3, page 7). TrendWall and Clear Wall can be integrated with the use of In-Line Posts. Volo and Clear Wall can be integrated with the use of a variety of Posts: In-Line, 90 and 3-way conditions. Remember that the systems have different thicknesses, so that when bringing two together, there will be a setback on one or both sides where they join. Remember to plan for insertion of Copolymer Strips if specified by the customer. Floor plans Accurate floor plans with key dimensions and conditions within the building architecture are essential. They should include: Overall space dimensions Wall locations and distance from columns Wall runs that terminate flush with building wall surfaces Door locations for ceiling height measurements is crucial for accuracy Existing corridor widths and runs that bypass building columns Site survey and verified field measurements A thorough pre-installation survey is required. Ensures fast, accurate, effective space planning and design. Allows effective scheduling, timely completion, no lost time on the job. Problem-free installations, happy customers and return business improve profit. PLEASE NOTE: Clear Wall can not be used in a freestanding application. It must be attached to a ceiling or soffit (no special blocking required). 6

Site Ceiling Determine the installation site's ceiling type and grid (if applicable), which will determine the attachment requirements. If you are not certain, or encounter a type of ceiling different from those described here, send a photo to your Trendway Technical Support team for assistance. Information you will need: Identify ceiling type: Grid and Tile, Gypsum, or other material (e.g. wood). This will determine the type of ceiling anchors you require. For Grid Ceiling, identify the Tile type: - Flat (Tile does not protrude proud of the Grid) - Tegular/Reveal. Tegular/Reveal grids require the use of Grid Blocks for installation. Determine if the Tegular tile has a 1/4" or 3/8" tile recess dimension (dimension it sits proud of the grid). Use Stucco-colored Grid Blocks for a finished appearance. Specify either 3/8"-high x 7/8" wide or 1/4"-high x 7/8"- wide. Special sizes available upon request. Specify one Block for every 2' of Clear Wall run, or 6 for every Crown section on order. Identify Grid type (if applicable): 1" Standard or 9/16" Thinline. Flat Lay-In Tile Grid Tegular/Reveal Tile Flat Tile Tegular/Reveal Tile Grid Grid Block Installed 8

Physical building conditions Site conditions may affect wall placement or require special planning to accommodate. Inspect the site and note any situations that may impact or interfere with the layout, or require special wall connection treatment due to site wall conditions. The AP Budget Estimator's Building Site Condition Checklist is a valuable aid in identifying these. Conditions may include: ADA requirements Building walls and columns Building electrical and data access Convector Units (baseboard heating units) Perimeter Wall Start conditions Air-handling diffusers Floor Type HVAC Supply and Return Grills Light fixtures Soffits Sprinkler heads Unusual Baseboard Configurations Wall or floor outlets Window conditions Ceiling type Flooring type Window sill and drapery pockets Ask the customer to look for obstructions before the product is ordered. It will be their responsibility to remove obstructions or relocate the wall. Once the site observation and measurements are complete: Identify any design modifications that should be anticipated due to site conditions. Review modifications with the designer before any design or layout begins Review modifications with the installers before installation work begins. Once the design is finalized, it s essential to do a thorough onsite verification of the installation drawings to actual site dimensioning prior to installation. Compliance with relevant regulations Before any work is performed, be certain you are in compliance with local and/or Government project or contract regulations. These may include, but are not limited to: Building Codes (see the AP Codes and Construction Requirements document on Trendealer) Building Permits Technical specs, test data or product sample submissions for approval Certificates of Occupancy Labor requirements (security clearance, trade union jurisdictions for tasks, etc.) Dealer- or customer-supplied verification of seismic bracing if required by local code 9

Installation planning checklist Where will material be received, and who will receive? Check all products received against the packing list and Bingo sheet. Where will material be stored? Are there any access or security rules governing time that installation may take place? Where are walls to be installed? Is the environment (i.e. heat, light, humidity, etc.) satisfactory? Are there any power complications? Are there any material handling obstacles (e.g. elevator/stairwell/corridor dimensions)? What preparation is required for cleanliness of metal trim and component cutting? Are there any special tools or equipment required? Refer to the Recommended list of installation tools on page 24. Are there complications or timing conflicts with other trades? Are flooring-loading limitations satisfactory? Ceiling type (drywall, drop Flat, drop Tegular/Reveal etc.)? Obtain accurate minimum/maximum ceiling heights in 1/8" increments. Is there anything on this job that requires extraordinary preparation? Post-Installation Obtain post-installation verification of product delivery, ownership, and security. Complete any punch list items and turnover procedures (Certificate of Occupancy, etc.). If promotional photography is desired, obtain permission (signed release) and schedule. 10

Vertical Posts Clear Wall Vertical Posts are divided into three categories: Wall Start, Transition, and Electrical. Transition Posts are used to transition from Clear Wall into Volo, TrendWall frames or into existing building elements. They can be used aesthetically or functionally. All Electrical Posts are 3-1/4" thick and designed with vertical wire management capability and come with an integral electrical cover. Door jambs are always included as part of the door section, but, as with Wall Starts and Transition Posts, do not have the ability to house power or data. Electrical Posts Electrical Posts allow power access via Ceiling Feeds. They include the End of Run Post, In-Line Post, 3-Way Post, 90 Post and Electrical Adder Post. Adder Posts are used to locate power next to Door Jambs. Electrical posts can be used either functionally as powered posts or aesthetically to add vertical mullions to the Clear Wall elevation. When used functionally as a power post, remember to specify the height(s) of the power access cover punch-outs. All Electrical Posts are made from the highest-grade extruded aluminum and are 3-1/4" thick. They can be specified in Satin Etch, or in one of Trendway's many powder coat finishes. 16 Glass Inserts Clear Wall Glass Inserts are 1/2" tempered glass that can be specified to any width from 8" to 48" in 1/8" increments. They come standard in three distinct glazing color options: Clear, Low Iron and Frost. Clear is standard tempered glass that has a slight hint of color. Low Iron tempered glass is as colorless as glass can get. Frost gives visual privacy, while allowing some light transfer between spaces. Glass Inserts are available with straight, single-angle and double-angle vertical edge treatments to allow for the design of unique faceted wall sections. Angles that can be specified as standard are: 22.5, 45, or 135. Other angles are available as specials for an upcharge. Note: angled glass is not recommended over 9'. GLASS INSERT Important note: Due to its intrinsic nature, glass naturally displays a degree of deflection (bowing) from its own weight. Clear Wall glass is no exception, but any deflection that may occur is well within accepted tolerances (see the chart below). Optional Copolymer Strips may be used to minimize the appearance of deflection (see page 17). To specify Clear Wall with COM glass, customers must order all components that are not Glass Insert part numbers in the usual manner (e.g., Doors, Upper Beam etc.) and order one Clear Wall Glass Hardware Kit (CWGLASSKIT) for each Glass Insert required. 16

Clear Copolymer Strip The Clear Copolymer Strip is an option that can be specified for insertion along the Glass Insert edge where two Inserts abut. They bridge the slight gap for a smooth look. Customers may desire this finishing detail to achieve the most finished appearance. The also minimize the slight irregularities that arise from the natural 'bow' that appears in large sheets of glass. See the note about deflection on the previous page. Use of the Strips also allows creation of a more refined butt corner joint for a cost-effective alternative to a mitered-edge Glass Insert joint. The Strip is sold in 10 sections and field cut to the required length. Clear Copolymer Strips are available for all for 4 Clear Wall angle conditions: In-line (180 ), 90, 3-Way and 135. They come with a pre-applied clear adhesive tape for installation. Note: the Strip is recommended for walls over 8' high. COPOLYMER STRIPS In-Line (180 ) 90 3-Way

It is most effective for a local locksmith to work with the client on their specific setup, so if changes or additions are required there is a nearby professional who understands their system and can address their future needs. For that reason, supplying master keyed products directly from Trendway is not in the best interest of the end user. Trendway can provide blank cylinders, without keying, to assist in this process. If frequent changes are anticipated, an interchangeable core system should be used so the cylinder can be removed without disassembling the lock. 21

Power and Data Clear Wall can integrate either modular power or building hardwire into the system. All vertical frame elements except Door Jambs, Wall Starts and Transition Posts are Electrical Posts, available as End of Run, In-Line, 90, 3-Way and Adder. Modular power begins by placing power blocks in vertical power posts. Power is brought into the system from ceiling junction boxes via Ceiling Feed harnesses. Note: power is supplied via ceiling access at each desired vertical post location, it is not routed via the Lower or Upper Beam. Ceiling Feeds supply power to Power Block Modules. These are available in either 10' or 12' lengths Power Blocks accept Power Duplexes and bring modular power to the user. Clear Wall Power Blocks at 6" Data height, 18" Standard height, 32" Standard height, 45" Switch height and 72" AV height above the finished floor. Power and data can be added at Clear Wall door jambs with the use of an Electrical Adder Post. All power modules are powered from the ceiling. Power Duplexes provide access to electrical in the Electrical Posts. Each one is clearly marked for Circuit I, II, III, or IV access. Circuit IV is marked in orange to designate it as a dedicated circuit. Power Duplexes are sold individually or in boxes of 6. The Hardwire Box Kit is a modified Appleton M1-250 masonry box that fits into Clear Wall Electrical Posts. This box should be specified for every field wired electrical opening. The Electrical Box includes 1/2" and 3/4" knockouts. UL Listed. NOTE: This part is a single gang electrical box only. All other electrical components must be supplied by the electrical contractor. 1-15/16" Total Unit Depth CEILING FEED POWER DUPLEX POWER BLOCKS HARDWIRE BOX KIT 23

Installation Sequence 1. Working from your Clear Wall floorplan, use tape or chalk to create a layout on the ceiling for the Upper Beam. 2. Locate and install all Wall Starts. 3. Find and mark all full height vertical connector locations. 4. Install Crown Channel components of Upper Beam between the full height connectors. 5. Mark floor layout for the Lower Beam, using a laser Plumb Bob. Mark with tape. 6. Locate and install all vertical connectors and Door Jambs which are NOT full height (they terminate below the Crown Channel). 7. Install all Floor Channel and Floor Beam components between the vertical connectors. 8. Level all Floor Beams to the same distance from the ceiling: make sure this is less than the height of the Glass Inserts. 9. Locate all Glass Inserts. Install, making sure each is plumb before installing the next. 10. Install Double Acting (Pivot) Doors. 11. Install modular power components. 12. Install Crown and Floor covers 13. Install Sliding Doors. Marking the Layout All Clear Wall dimensions are based on centerline dimensioning. Use tape to create the layout on the ceiling to indicate where the Crown Channel will be located. Locate the centerline of the run on the wall. (NOTE: Start your installation at a corner and work back to the building wall.) Use tape and a plumb bob or laser to locate the centerline of the floor layout inline with the centerline of the ceiling layout. Use tape to mark the locations for all vertical posts. Door locations are height-critical! They must be accurate. Find and mark the high spot in the entire system, to be used when leveling the system due to floor runout. Installing Wall Starts Measure and mark 1-3/4" from the centerline at the wall start to locate the perimeter edge of the Wall Channel. Measure from the finished floor to the ceiling and cut the Wall Start Transition Post. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUT LENGTHS ARE CRITICAL. ALL GAPS SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1/64". Check the fit and mount the Wall Channel to the building using either 1.5" drywall screws or a combination of wall anchors and corresponding screws, making sure it is plumb. NOTE: It is the responsibility of the installer to make sure that the mounting method is appropriate for the condition of the building wall. Before installing the Wall Start Post into the Wall Channel (friction fit), place a 1/2" shim (any length) between them at the floor level. Set it to the dimension on the supplied drawing (usually 3"). Make sure it is plumb, then mark the face location on the ceiling this will indicate the Crown Channel start location. Reference the Trendway supplied drawings to locate, measure, and mark the locations of all other full height vertical posts. DO NOT INSTALL OR CUT THESE POSTS YET. The Trendway supplied drawings will note these dimensions. However, always mark their locations and re-check the Crown and Floor Channel dimensions prior to cutting these posts. Full height vertical posts can include Wall Starts, Transition Posts, Two-Way Corner Posts, Two-Way In-line Posts, Three-Way Posts, and Electrical Adder Posts. The Trendway supplied drawings will indicate which posts are full height posts. 25

Installing Upper Beam Measure 1-3/8" from the centerline to locate the perimeter edge of the Crown Channel. The Crown Channel cut dimensions can be pulled from the Trendway supplied drawings, however, it is highly recommended to verify the dimensions from the field marked layout. If a Sliding Door is specified, the Glass Cam side of the installed Upper Beam must be on the opposite side of the panel from the installed Sliding Door (Fig B). Cut the corresponding Crown Channel, starting with the piece closest to the installation start point. For mitered corners, miter cut the Crown Channel to the specified angle on the Trendway supplied drawings. Measure the distance from the face of the Wall Start to the first ceiling grid intersection. Mark this distance on the Crown Channel and drill a 1/4" clearance hole. Measure, mark, and drill a clearance hole for all other ceiling grid intersections, typically every 2' or 4'. Using #8 self-drilling sheet metal screws attach the Crown Channel to the ceiling grid. NOTE: If the ceiling tile used is a tegular tile, or a recessed tile, be sure to use the appropriate Ceiling Grid Block at each hole in the crown. This will prevent the Crown Channel from pushing the ceiling tile up and out of space. For mitered corners, use a tie bar and self-drilling sheet metal screws to secure the joint together. Note: Crown sections must be attached only to structurally sound ceilings and connected to the ceiling grid at least every 2' or 4' as the ceiling grid allows. Once the first piece of Crown Channel is installed, it is highly recommended to install the mid-run full height post before moving on to the next Crown Channel. A ceiling grid spanner must be used in the case where the end of run is located between the ceiling grid bars, and not on a ceiling grid. Installing Mid-Run Full Height Posts Measure from the finished floor to the ceiling and cut the mid-run full height post. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUT LENGTHS ARE CRITICAL. ALL GAPS SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1/64". For Electrical Adder Posts, align the two connection legs of the already cut-to-size Electrical Adder Post to the two connection grooves of the adjacent already cut-to-size post, and slide the two posts together until they become one post. NOTE: Be sure to take caution when sliding the two posts together to minimize any possible damage to either post. Position the post in place. Install two L-Brackets to the top of the post, inside the glass channel, with the provided #10x3/4 self-drilling screws. Plumb the post. Continue installing the rest of the Crown Channel and mid-run full height posts until complete. NOTE: If an Insert has a Post or Door Jamb on both sides of it, install the final Post or Door Jamb after the Floor Channel, Floor Beam, and Insert have been installed. For inside clear corners, miter cut the Crown Channel to the angle specified on the Trendway supplied drawings. Installing Half of the Crown Cover CEILING INSTALLED SLIDING DOOR Measure the distance between the full height posts and cut the Crown Covers for the half of the Crown Channel with the leg on it. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUT LENGTHS ARE CRITICAL. ALL GAPS SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1/64". For clear corners, miter cut the Crown Cover to the angle specified on the Trendway supplied drawings. This angle must match the installed angle of the Crown Channel. Install a Straight or Corner Alignment Bracket, if required. Install the Crown Cover and be sure that it completely snaps into place with the Crown Channel. FIG B 1-3/8" FROM CENTERLINE TO PERIMETER EDGE GLASS CAM ON OPPOSITE SIDE OF PANEL FROM SLIDING DOOR 26

Installing Door Jambs and Mid-Run Sub-Crown Posts Locate the mid-run sub-crown post locations. The mid-run sub-crown post dimensions can be pulled from the Trendway supplied drawings, however, it is highly recommended to verify the dimensions from the field marked layout. Measure from the finished floor to the bottom of the installed Crown at each location, then subtract 4-3/16" to determine the length to cut the post. NOTE: Due to floor run out, do not assume that every post will be cut to the same height. Cut the corresponding Door Jamb or mid-run sub-crown post. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUT LENGTHS ARE CRITICAL. ALL GAPS SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1/64". NOTE: The Door Jambs for Double Acting (Pivot) Doors come with pre-drilled holes for specific Double Acting Door locations. Be sure to cut the corresponding Door Jamb. For Electrical Adder Posts, align the two connection legs of the already cut-to-size Electrical Adder Post to the two connection grooves of the adjacent already cut-to-size post, and slide the two posts together until they become one post. NOTE: Be sure to take caution when sliding the two posts together to minimize any damage to either post. For each Door Jamb, install a Door Jamb Weldment to the top of the Door Jamb by aligning 12" steel bar and serrated tabs to the features in the Door Jamb profile. Bottom out the weldment to the Door Jamb using a hammer or mallet. The measurement from the top of the jamb to the top of the weldment is 4-3/16". For each Door Jamb, install a Door Jamb Foot Plate to the 2-1/2" studs near the bottom. Rotate the Foot Plate into the square cut out and attach in place using 3/4" nuts. Position the Door Jamb in place. Pre-drill 1/4 holes and anchor the Door Jamb to the Crown Channel using the provided 1/4"- 20 thread-cutting screws provided. NOTE: If a Door Jamb creates a complete frame around a single Insert, install the Door Jamb that completes the frame after the Floor Channel, Floor Beam, and Insert have been installed. Plumb the Door Jamb. If a Door Jamb is cut short, run out the 2-1/2" studs to the floor to attach the Door Jamb in place. NOTE: All Door Jambs must be firmly attached to the floor to ensure adequate strength for the Door Jamb. For all other mid-run sub-crown post, install a Vertical-to-Crown Bracket Assembly to the top of the post, inside the glass channel, with the provided #10x3/4 self-drilling screws. NOTE: The Vertical-to-Crown Bracket may need to be rotated so that the Bracket is flush to the Crown Channel Leg. Position the mid-run sub-crown post in place and anchor the Vertical-to-Crown Bracket Assembly to the Crown Channel using the provided #10x3/4 self-drilling screws. NOTE: If a vertical post creates a complete frame around a single Insert, install the vertical post that completes the frame after the Floor Channel, Floor Beam, and Insert have been installed. Plumb the post. Installing Floor Channel Measure 1-1/2" from the centerline to locate the edge of the Floor Channel. The Floor Channel cut dimensions can be pulled from the Trendway supplied drawings, however, it is highly recommended to verify the dimensions from the field marked layout. NOTE: Floor Channel is 3" wide (not the full width of the systems 3-1/4" width). There will be 1/8" on both sides of the Floor Channel to account for the Floor Covers. Cut the corresponding Floor Channel, starting with the piece closest to the installation start point. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUT LENGTHS ARE CRITICAL. ALL GAPS SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1/64. For clear corners, miter cut the Floor Channel to the angle specified on the Trendway supplied drawings. This angle must match the installed angle of the Crown Channel. For Floor Channel pieces that are adjacent to a Door Jamb, drill four 5/16" clearance holes, through the Floor Channel, inline with the holes of the Door Jamb Foot Plate. Use the 1/4" Tapcon screws provided to attach the Channel to the floor. 27

Carpet Condition Peel off backing of Carpet Gripper and apply to each Floor Channel. NOTE: Carpet Grippers should be applied near each end and spaced evenly along the Floor Channel. For Floor Channels adjacent to Door Jambs, anchor all Door Jambs to the floor through the Door Jamb Foot Plate and clearance holes in the Floor Channel. Recommended anchors are 1/4"x2-1/4" Tapcon screws which require a 3/16" pre-drill hole. NOTE: It is the responsibility of the installer to make sure that the anchoring method is appropriate for the condition of the building floor. Non-Carpet Condition Drill a 5/16" clearance holes near each end of the Floor Channel. Install the Floor Channels to the floor through the clearance holes. NOTE: It is the responsibility of the installer to make sure that the anchoring method is appropriate for the condition of the building wall. Installing Floor Beams Cut Floor Beams to match the Floor Channels, staying clear of the Leveling Bolts. NOTE: Floor Beams do not need to be miter cut. Level all Floor Beams to the ceiling, starting at the high point in the system. This will ensure proper glass engagement and maximum leveling capability. Ensure that every Leveling Bolt is in contact with the Floor Channel. Install Floor Beam Saddles and Plumbing Nuts onto the Floor Beams. NOTE: Be sure that the Plumbing Nuts are completely bottomed out and position the groove parallel to, or inline with, the Floor Beam. NOTE: For Glass Inserts that are 24" wide or less, use (2) sets. For those that are larger than 24", use (3) sets. Installing Glass Inserts NOTE: Glass Suction Cups are very useful when positioning the Glass Inserts into place, especially if they engage with a vertical post. Reference the Trendway supplied drawings to determine each Insert s location. The acknowledgement/ drawing will reflect the specified ceiling height. Please note that actual Glass sizes are 6-1/4" shorter than the specified ceiling height. NOTE: It is recommended to install the Glass Inserts adjacent to vertical posts first and make sure there is enough open space for the remaining Insert(s), then install the remaining Insert(s). For Glass Inserts adjacent to vertical posts, press the Insert into the post. It is recommended to use Windex to lubricate the glass panels before insertion, for easier adjustment. Install the Insert into position by placing it on top of the corresponding Plumbing Nuts. NOTE: Be very cautious with Glass Inserts. The edges are very sensitive and easily damaged. If the Clear Copolymer Strip option is being used, measure and cut to match Glass Insert heights. These are installed by removing the tape from the self-adhesive surfaces of the Strip and pressing into place along the edge of an installed Insert. Stand and plumb the next adjacent Glass Insert and slide it against the strip adhesive on the previously installed Insert to seal the gap between them. NOTE: For Glass Inserts that are 24" wide or less, there should be a Plumbing Nut near each edge of the Insert. For those that are larger than 24", there should be a Plumbing Nut near each edge of the Insert and one in the middle of the Insert. 28

Installing Glass Inserts - continued NOTE: Glass has a natural deflection (bow) to it (see table, below). This may result in a noticeable gap in mitered-corner applications, especially over 8' high. (Butt joints or Corner Posts are recommended for those applications.) Be sure to note the deflection of all adjacent Glass Inserts to help optimize glass alignment. As each Insert is positioned, plumb the Insert by rotating the corresponding Plumbing Nuts. Once plumbed, ensure that all Plumbing Nuts are tight to the bottom of the Insert. Lock the Insert in place by rotating (2) Glass Cams in the Crown Channel. If Glass Inserts do not align due to the bow in the glass, use 3-5 pieces of the supplied double sided tape to help with alignment. If these are used, apply them in consistent locations for the best appearance. If the system had any vertical posts that completed a frame around a single Insert, install the remaining vertical posts, as de-scribed in the Installing Door Jambs & Mid-Run Sub-Crown Posts section. Glass Deflection Tolerances Industry Standards 1/4" Glass 3/8" Glass 1/2" Glass 8' Doors 15/32" 9/32" 13/64" 9' Doors 17/32" 11/32" 9/32" 10' Doors 21/32" 15/32" 3/8" Installing Remaining Crown Covers Measure the distance between the full height posts and cut the Crown Covers for the other half of the Crown Channel. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUT LENGTHS ARE CRITICAL. ALL GAPS SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1/64". For clear corners, miter cut the Crown Cover to the angle specified on the Trend-way supplied drawings. This angle must match the installed angle of the Crown Channel. Install a Straight or Corner Alignment Bracket, if required. Install the Crown Cover and be sure that it completely snaps into place with the Crown Channel. Installing Floor Covers The Floor Cover cut dimensions can be pulled from the Trendway supplied drawings, however, it is highly recommended to verify the dimensions from the field marked layout. Measure the distance between the posts and cut the Floor Covers. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUT LENGTHS ARE CRITICAL. ALL GAPS SHOULD BE LESS THAN 1/64". For clear corners, miter cut the Floor Cover to the angle specified on the Trendway supplied drawings. This angle must match the installed angle of the Floor Channel. Install the Floor Covers into place by pressing them down onto the Floor Beam Saddles. To remove a Floor Cover, place a crowbar on the bottom leg of the Floor Cover. CAREFULLY press the Floor Cover up, working along its length. 29

Installing Glass Double Acting (Pivot) Doors Mount the Door Hinges to the Door Jambs with the provided 1/4"-20 Flat Head Screws. Remove the clamping half of the Door Hinge with a 5mm Allen Wrench and locate both the thinnest and thickest shims. Remove the backing of the double-sided tape on both halves of the Door Hinge, and adhere the thinnest shims to the tape. The Door Hinges lock in the 90 position. Press them into this position before installing the Glass Double Acting (Pivot) Door. Install the Glass Double Acting (Pivot) Door onto the Door Hinges and mount the previously removed Door Hinge half. NOTE: Do not completely tighten the mounting screws. Tighten them to the point that the Glass Double Acting (Pivot) Door does not shift. Cut the (4) legs off of the thickest shims. Lift the Glass Double Acting (Pivot) Door and wedge the shim legs between the Door Hinge and hinge cutout in the Glass Double Acting Door, both above and below each hinge. Carefully close the Door, making sure that it will not interfere with either Door Jamb. NOTE: As you close the Glass Double Acting (Pivot) Door, the Door Hinges will make a very loud banging sound, which sounds like the glass is breaking. The glass is fine. This noise indicates that the zero position of the Door Hinges has not been set. NOTE: Reference the instruction sheet that is supplied with the Door Hinges for more details. Adjust the Glass Double Acting Door so that there is an even gap along the handle side of the door and then completely tighten the mounting screws. Position the Glass Double Acting Door about 1/2" from the zero position, or center. Turn the set screw of the bottom Door Hinge, on one side of the Glass Double Acting Door, clockwise with a 1/8" flat screwdriver until the Glass Double Acting Door begins to move. Turn the set screw of the top Door Hinge, on the same side of the Glass Double Acting Door, clockwise until the Glass Double Acting Door reaches the zero position. Walk through the door. Position the Glass Double Acting Door to the zero position and turn the set screw of the bottom Door Hinge clockwise. Turn the set screw of the top Door Hinge clockwise. Walk through the door and retighten the setscrews on the first side. Check the final zero position by opening the door completely and letting it shut on its own. Install the Plastic Cover Caps on all Door Hinges. 30
