3 Registration forms and additional information about the instructors, vendors, hotels, map/directions, Joshua Roth New Talent Contest, awards, workshops, and seminars will be posted on the American Bonsai Society website, Full Registration Includes: All seminars, Bonsai and Ikebana Exhibit, Vendor s Reception (Thurs. Evening) 2 Dinners (Friday and Saturday nights), Demonstrations by Marc Noelanders and Bjorn Bjorholm, Raffles, Silent Auction, Saturday Night Auction, and Silent Observation of Workshops. Workshop Participation Requires an Additional Fee. ($269) Single Day Registration Includes: Seminars and participation in 1 workshop for the day registered. Meals are not included. ($135) General Admission Includes: Entry to Bonsai and Ikebana Exhibit and Vendor area only. ($10) Bonsai Exhibitor Entry Form: can be found on the ABS website, or send an to gatetobonsai2018@aol.com requesting the form and instructions. There is a $25.00 fee for each tree after receiving acceptance into the show. A picture is required, send picture and completed form to gatetobonsai2018@aol.com. Exhibit Awards: Best in Show $1000, 2nd Place $500, 3rd Place $250, Best Conifer $250, Best Shohin Display $250, Best Tropical $250, Best Broadleaf $250, Best Native Bonsai & ABS Medallion $250, Best Ikebana $100. Raffles: Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance (at a reduced price) or at the Registration table at the convention. The raffles will be held in the vendor area throughout the days. Times will be posted at the convention. Silent Auction: Will be held in Ballroom A and B before dinner on Friday night from 4-7 p.m. Auction: Will be held in Ballroom A and B after dinner on Saturday night. Demonstrations: Marc Noelanders and Bjorn Bjorholm demonstrations will be after dinner on Friday night in Ballroom A and B. The demo trees will be auctioned on Saturday night after dinner. Workshops: Register early, acceptance determined by postmark or date. Joshua Roth Contest: The Joshua Roth/ABS New Talent Contest is intended to recognize and promote new bonsai talent in North America. Participants will work on designing similar trees all day Friday, April 20, in the Pre-function Lobby. The winner receives $1000 towards study with a bonsai professional, and a check for $500. The runner up receives $500 in credit towards bonsai tools and supplies from the Joshua Roth catalog and a check for $500. Entries and additional information can be obtained on the ABS website, Winners will be announced on Saturday during the banquet. Lunches, drinks and snacks: can be purchased from the Concession Area from 11-2 on Friday and Saturday. Friday Night Dinner Buffet: Horseradish encrusted breast of chicken topped with a Dijon Buerre Blanc, citrus marinated pork loin, roasted potatoes, French style green beans, assorted rolls, assorted cakes & pies or vegetarian dish. Saturday Night Banquet Choices: Your choice of filet mignon with béarnaise sauce or pan seared salmon with confetti salsa or roasted wild mushroom and lentil vegetable torte.
