When Hallmark Gold Crown stores open for Keepsake Ornament Debut Weekend, four long-kept secrets will be out of the bag. And that s just one part of a two-day celebration planned Oct More than 100 new Keepsake Ornaments will become available, including six limitedquantity designs that are sure to go fast (see all six designs inside). For months, hints of images and details of four Keepsake Ornaments have been online at Hallmark.com/ Keepsakes but they will appear front and center for Debut Weekend. Also among ornaments new for Debut are the three designs in 2012 s collection of Mystery Ornaments, the latest in the Ready! Set! Snow! collection featuring Mickey Mouse and friends, and Heavenly Harmony, a tabletop decoration celebrating the 25th year of the popular Mary s Angels ornament series. Weekend shoppers will be able to save $10 on a new ornament for the Magic Cord. Deck the House! will be priced at $19.95 on Oct. 6-7 only. If you are a Crown Rewards member who purchased a Keepsake Ornament during Ornament Premiere Weekend in July, an ornament purchase on Debut Weekend will make you eligible for a free special edition of One Sweet Cookie by Keepsake Artist Kristina Gaughran. A coupon for the ornament will be mailed to those making the qualifying purchases. The ornament may be picked up beginning Friday, Nov. 23, while supplies last at participating stores. KOC members will be eligible to buy Christmas Angel by recently retired Keepsake Artist Sue Tague. 6 Swap em if you got em! Keepsake Artists are putting a little mystery into some of their favorite ornament series. This year s Mystery Ornament designs include Astronaut Frosty by Tom Best, Frosty s Sweet Ride by Tammy Haddix and Winter Fairy by Kristina Gaughran. Each is inspired by series ornaments with one Mystery Ornament actually prompting a new series ornament itself (see story below for details). The idea behind Mystery Ornaments builds on the blind-box collectible figures that designer toy companies have sold for years. A buyer will not know which of the ornament s three versions is inside each box until opened. Keepsake Ornament Swap Parties planned Oct. 14 at participating stores will take the mystery out of getting the Mystery Ornament you want. Swap parties will let fans and collectors trade not just for ornaments they want, but also for recipes, decorating tips and anything else that brings fun to the holidays. At some parties, two guests among those registered will win a silver-suited repaint of this year's Astronaut Frosty ornament. 7 winter fairy to hang with buddies in 2013 As planning continues for the 2013 Keepsake Ornament Club event in Kansas City, Mo., one winged guest has arrived early for the party. Here's a sneak peek at Winter Fairy by Keepsake Artist Kristina Gaughran. This ornament is just one of the event exclusives planned for Hangin With Your Buddies, August 2-3, 2013, at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center in downtown Kansas City. Artist signings, informational seminars, games and more are planned for the event. Online registration will open in Spring 2013 on our KOCevents.com website. This is the only way that registrations will be accepted. Mystery Ornaments offer a clue to the creation of the Winter Fairy exclusive.
