2 GETTING STARTED NOTE: Before beginning, cover the play area to prevent possible damage. 1 Gather: 2 Insert and align shell: Insert the top of the shell first (as shown) and then insert the bottom for a perfect fit. 3 Close and align openings: 2

3 ATTENTION To make sure your creation comes out the cutest it can be, carefully read the instructions on popping and mixing the pouch before moving forward. Tip: Create your first character with a practice pouch. Gather: TIMER (Not Included) Once you pop the color, begin to quickly mix the color with the clear portion. NOTE: Once it is popped, you will have 1 minute and 30 seconds to mix. Pop: Try all the different methods to pop the inner color. 4 Use your fist. Use your fingers. Use your palms. 5 Tip: Squeeze all of the color out from the inner pouch and quickly mix well with clear portion. Mix: Pedal! Start your timer! 1:30 Try all the different methods to mix the color. QUICKLY pedal, swivel, swirl and twist the pouch to get the color mixed. Rotate and swivel it! Knead it! The color is completely mixed when there is no clear part remaining. Keep mixing! Keep trying! Hooray! 3

4 GETTING READY TO SQUEEZE You must work quickly, so keep handy: You will have 30 seconds to squeeze the color into the surprise maker. 6 Remove and discard bow cap: 7 Insert and lock pouch into surprise maker: Insert all the way in. Turn pouch clockwise to lock in. 8 Squeeze: Insert the pouch through the slit on the squeeze tool. Roll down to squeeze color into surprise maker. Use your fingers to get as much in as possible. Insert! Roll! Squeeze! 9 Grow: Leave the pouch in the surprise maker and wait four hours. Don t disrupt the magic. Don t open the surprise maker. 4

5 10 Almost there... After 4 hours, turn the pouch counterclockwise and remove with some force to snap off the hardened color. DISCARD THE POUCH IMMEDIATELY. Open the surprise maker and remove the mystery shell. Use the tabs to open the shell. Remove the mold and polybags. Leave the character in the mold overnight and start on another mystery shell. YOUR MOLD Hinges Keys 11 Unlock your mold: After leaving your character in the mold overnight, remove the bow cap on the squeeze tool. Then, turn the three keys and pull down the four hinges. 6 12 Open your mold: Slowly open the mold and ask an adult to cut the hardened cord. 13 Remove your character: Use your fingers to work around the character and gently pull it out. Then, open the polybags. 14 Make your unique character: Insert the pegs behind the accessories into the openings of your character. Bellies are interchangeable between characters that have the same belly shape. 6

7 1 USING THE SURPRISE MAKER AGAIN AND AGAIN Clean the mold: If there is residue from the last use, wipe the mold with a dry paper towel. 2 Lock the mold: Close the hinges and turn the keys to lock the mold. 8 1 CLEANING THE MOLD 2 Use a dry paper towel to wipe out excess material from the mold. If mixture remains, use a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before starting a new character. CAUTION IMPORTANT INFORMATION Make sure the vent holes are cleaned out and clear. DO NOT puncture the color pouch or intentionally expose the contents in the pouch unless it is going into the mold. Keep away from pets and sharp objects to avoid puncturing the pouch. DO NOT eat the contents of the pouch. DO NOT eat near the play area. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after playing or if product gets on your hands. Keep the color pouch away from clothing and furniture to prevent staining. Color transfer may occur. Keep pouch away from heat. Some pouches might be harder to pop than others. Avoid using excessive force to pop the inner color. DO NOT pop the color on a fragile surface such as a glass table. DO NOT step on or do anything that might damage the pouch. Character came out gooey Color hardened inside pouch Color didn t fill the mold TROUBLESHOOTING Make sure the color and clear portions in the pouch are completely mixed (see page 3). Leave character inside the mold overnight. Make sure to mix well within 1 minute and 30 seconds. Then, quickly squeeze the color into the surprise maker. Make sure to squeeze the color into the surprise maker within 30 seconds. Squeeze as much color into the surprise maker as possible. Leave character inside the mold overnight. Mixing is crucial and will take practice to properly mix. A fully mixed pouch should have no remaining clear portion and be mixed under 1 minute and 30 seconds. The valve inside of the color pouch will only open if it is inserted properly into the surprise maker. Avoid touching the mixture, and keep it away from your eyes and face. Do not open mold at anytime while character is growing inside the surprise maker. Wait overnight before removing your character from the mold. Be gentle when removing a character from the mold to prevent tearing. Use a paper towel to dry off the character if mixture is still wet. Do not wash the mold with water. If a paper towel doesn t remove the color, leave it overnight and peel off excess color or use a damp cloth. Use your squeeze tool to remove any mixture stuck to the top opening of the mold.
