Rules 1. All articles must remain on display until the day after the Fair. 2. All exhibits must have been made by exhibitor and may not have been previously entered in The Kings Fair. 3. Competition in the Junior Home Arts limited to residents of Kings County (or be a bona fide member of a Kings County Farm organization) and must be under 18 years of age. 4. An article may be entered in for one award only. 5. An article may be transferred from one class to another at the discretion of the judge. 6. 8 Awards: Rosette and $5 Junior Food Preservation Best of Division Ribbon Only Newell Brands Inc., marketers of Ball and Kerr Fresh Preserving Products, is proud to recognize today s fresh preserving (canning) enthusiasts. An award for 1st place will be presented to the individual whose home canned entry is selected the best in the category. A panel of judges will select the best entry in each category for Fruits, Vegetables, Pickles, and Soft Spreads. Entries must be preserved in Ball Jars sealed with Ball Lids and Bands specially designed for home canning, or preserved in Kerr Jars sealed with Kerr Lids and Bands specially designed for home canning. In addition, entries in the soft spread category must be prepared using Ball Pectin: ic, Low or No-Sugar, or Liquid. Proof of pectin purchase in the form of a receipt or product UPC must be submitted with entry Entries from each category honored with a First Place award will receive: One (1) Five-Dollar ($5) Coupon for Ball or Kerr Fresh Preserving Products and One (1) Free (up to $6 value) Coupon for Ball Pectin Ball Fresh Preserving Award Announcement can be found on our website. Rules 1. Danish System of judging 2. Entry form must list the type of product (fruit, vegetable, preserves, etc.) and the method or process used (canned, freezing, or drying). 3. Low acid foods must be canned under pressure. 4. Dried products should be wrapped in clear plastic or sealed in jars. 5. An exhibit consists of one jar for freezing, two standard jars for canning, one container for drying, except for jerky (six strips) and dreid fruit (six sections) 6. NO PARAFFIN SEALS Requirements for Preserved Foods 1. All home canned foods must have been prepared within a one-year period prior to judging date. 2. Entry to consist TWO jars (except where otherwise specified) of each product entered. One jar will be opened for judging the other for display. 3. All entries must be canned using the same brand of jar and lid. New screw rings can be used. 4. Entries must be labeled with product name, date of preparation, processing method and processing time. 8

Centerpiece must be original and made by exhibitor. It cannot be purchased or premade. 4. Set-up must be done independently by exhibitor without assistance or advice at time of delivery. 5. All possible caution will be taken in displaying these entries. Since we cannot be responsible for breakage, we encourage you to use your own discretion in china selection. 6. 22 Group Table Setting Rosette and Award Limits: Groups consist of 3 to 5 members. No more than 2 groups per club. List the names of group members. Each group must provide their own table (card table) to display their table setting. Tables should be set for four persons, following YOUR THEME. Rules: 1. MENU CARD MUST BE DISPLAYED 2. Centerpiece must be made by Exhibitor(s). It may not be pre-made or purchased, although items within it may be purchased. 3. 45 4-H, FFA and Youth Organization Feature Booths American System of Judging Rules 1. The feature exhibit booth provides members an opportunity the public with a specific phase of their club program. The booth can show what they have learned, the activities in which they have participated, or the contribution of the organization of the organization to the community. Judges will insist upon a high quality of products and material used in the exhibit. A high scoring exhibit will be artistically designed, constructed and installed by youth members only. 2. The booth may use the fair theme in creating the display. 3. Leaders and project parents ARE ONLY TO supervise. Leaders may sign Entry Forms as agents for clubs. 4.
