5 Second Day Supplies Please bring 3 of these to our second class. (corn oil, scrubby sponge, dish soap, glass cleaner, ajax cleanser) used for common clean-up of studio

6 1 box or container to carry your supplies Used for All Projects

7 India Ink, #2 round paintbrush, pencils, scissors Used for All Projects

8 Used for Linocut One piece or block of mounted or unmounted artists linoleum (4 x 6 inches to 18 x 30 ). The mounted type is easier to print. You may get more than one if you would like to make a second (extra credit) image.

9 Used for Linocut Speedball lino cutters #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 and handle

10 Used for All Projects 1 newsprint paper tablet (18 in. x 24 in. pad of 50 sheets)

11 Used for All Projects Printing paper: Rives BFK, Arches, Lennox, Stonehenge, or similar you can also try different rice papers (15 25 sheets over the whole semester) Get at least two kinds. Don t get the ultra-thin rice paper. Get the thick kind.

12 Used for All Projects 1 reusable cardboard portfolio (You can also make your own.)

13 1 glue stick Used for Visual Brainstorming Day

14 one old file folder, any solid color Used for Visual Brainstorming Day

15 7 old magazines with lots of color pictures. We will be cutting these up, so choose accordingly. Used for Visual Brainstorming Day

16 1 piece of Plexiglas or Lexan (4 x 6 inches to 18 x 30 ) The thickness can be 1/16" - 1/8 (1.5mm). Used for Monoprint These are fresh from the store with packaging and label. Some store locations may be able to cut larger pieces down to the size that you want. We will be adding ink to these and printing to paper. This example has black ink rolled onto the clear plexiglass (or lexan) sheet of material.

17 Used for Etching 1 or 2 (the second is optional) zinc etching plates (4 x 6 inches to 18 x 30 ) I recommend two small plates instead of one large plate.

18 Used for Etching 1 small pack of sandpaper (the kind used for wood). Try to find a variety pack (110, 150, 200 grit, etc.) for a broader range of artistic effects.

19 a 3-inch paint brush (the cheapest one from a hardware-type store will be perfect) Used for Collagraph

20 1 small bottle of acrylic (gloss or matte) medium Used for Collagraph

24 Exhibition Supplies you want your work to look good on display don t you? You will only need enough for 1 print. The matboard and foamboard pieces are 32 x 40. This is enough for at least 3 prints so buddy up and save money by sharing the following supplies:

27 Used for Exhibition Display Preparation framer s tape (not masking tape) - The roll has 20 yards, but we only need 1 foot per mat. The retailer may sell framer s tape by the foot. Ask about that.
