Giant Bubbles This bubble solution is amazing and produces huge sturdy bubbles. 6 cups of hot distilled water 2 cups of Dawn ultra complete or ultra hand renewal. If you can t find that, alternatively use Ultra Concentrated Joy or Non Ultra Ajax 2-3 Tablespoons of Glycerin. (by the soap making supplies at Hobbly lobby) Gently Mix. Do not create bubbles while mixing. Be very gently. Ideally this should sit for a few days before use.
happyhooligans.ca Giant Bubble Wands Dowels or sticks from the yard. Eye hooks Washers Thick Cotton string Screw the eye hooks into the ends of the sticks or dowels. Use a drill if you need to. Cut the string into one 48 inch long piece and one 96 inch long piece. Tie each end of the 48-inch piece of cord to the dowel through the screw eye. Thread a washer onto the 96-inch cord and slide the washer to the center of the cord. Tie each end of the long cord right onto the other cord, not on the eye hooks. Dip the string into the solution and lift and spread your arms and pull backwards. Have fun making giant bubbles. You can also make smaller versions of this wand for littles, using 18 inch dowels, two 12-inch cords and one 24-inch cord. Alternatively.you could tape the string to the end of a stick instead of using eye hooks. That would work also and save you a trip to the hardware store, they just wouldn t last as long.
Bubble Snakes The bubble solution from above Water bottles Old mismatched socks or washcloths Duct tape Food coloring (optional) C Cut the bottom of the empty water bottle and discard. Slip the sock or cloth over the end and duct tape it to the bottle. Discard the bottle lid. Dip the socked end of the bottle into the bubble solution and blow into the mouth part of the bottle. Long bubble snakes will form. Have a race while walking backwards to see who can make the longest snake without it breaking. Stand on a deck and make bubble snakes off of the deck. Put some drops of food coloring onto the sock before dipping and make bubble rainbows. Lots of possibilities.
abirdandabean.com Fluffy Slime 2 four ounce containers of Elmer s school glue 1 cup of shaving cream food coloring or acrylic paint 1 TBS corn starch (optional) 1 squirt of hand lotion (optional) 2 squirts of foaming hand soap. (optional) ½ - 1 cup Liquid laundry starch. This is the activator. Add a TBS at a time until it become stringy and les sticky. Other activators you could use are Borax and water or contact solution. Mix the first ingredients together completely before adding the activator. Add the starch a little at a time. It will be very stringy and sticky. This is normal. Resist the urge to add more starch until you mix and knead for a few minutes. Mix with your hands until your hands are clean. (It will become a hard ball of slime if you add too much starch.) Mixing and kneading will take about 3 minutes. The only things you really need to make this slime are glue, shaving cream and an activator. The optional ingredients add smooth texture and stretchiness. The different recipes and add ins and possibilities for slime are infinite. Add glitter, water beads or foam beads. There are even no glue and no borax recipes out there. Experiment. Have fun.
jugglingactmama.com Canvas String Art canvas (I like to purchase this 8 10 Canvas Pack which saves me a little money) spray paints yarn or string masking tape scissors cardboard or plastic to use as a drop cloth mask (you can pick these up at your local hardware store) Flip the canvas over and tape one end of the yarn onto the back using the masking tape. Turn the canvas back over and tightly wrap the yarn around the canvas in a random pattern. At times, you may need to tape the yarn in place on the back. For example, near the corners. Once you are satisfied with the way your canvas is wrapped. Place the canvas front side up on a piece of plastic or cardboard outdoors or in a well ventilated area. Wear a mask, spray the canvas with different color spray paints. Leave the canvas to dry completely, preferably 3 hours. Cut the string off and remove the tape from the back.
