1 INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING (DR 100) & HONORS (DR 100) Instructors may announce additional supplies during the semester. 1 QTY Drawing board must be large enough to fit 19x24 inch paper with room around the sheet 4 QTY Large Rex or Bulldog type paper holding clips 1 QTY Box of 100 clear push pins for mounting drawings for viewing and critique 1 QTY Artist s chamois skin or 12 square flannel rag for erasing 1 QTY 18 x 24 Penny Weight bond pad 1 QTY Large kneaded eraser, gentle on paper, no crumbs, lifts off charcoal 1 QTY Large gum eraser (tan colored, crumbly, easy on paper) great for broad subtractive drawing 1 QTY Large pink eraser (with beveled edges) makes sharp marks in subtractive drawing 1 QTY Large white eraser (Staedler brand) general purpose 1 QTY Fishing tackle or similar compartment box for organizing and carrying drawing supplies 1 QTY 18 x 24 rough newsprint pad 1 QTY Cardboard or store bought portfolios measuring 20 x 26 approx.(no smaller) 1 QTY Retractable Utility Knife 1 QTY Box (soft) vine charcoal 1 QTY Box (12 sticks) charcoal pastels sometimes called charkole or charcoal pastels 1 QTY Bottle of India ink 1 QTY Bamboo Brush (sz 6, inexpensive bamboo type) 1 QTY Bamboo sketch pen/reed pen 1 QTY Masking tape 1 thickness Additional supplies will be required from various sections, these supplies may include: + Soft rags; an old T-shirt torn up + Small jar with lid + Small plastic palette + Black and white tempra

2 FOUNDATIONS OF DIGITAL IMAGING (FN 101) Instructors may announce additional supplies during the semester. ALL SECTIONS REQUIRED 32GB Flash Drive (or larger) Digital Camera Laptop Wacom (Small or Medium) Drawing T ablet PAINTING & DRAWING 1 QTY Tablet Students may choose to purchase a tablet or check one out from MECA. If checked out, students will be held responsible for care and maintenance of these tablets. The proper model to purchase is the Wacom Intuos (Medium or Small; medium is strongly recommended). Other models must be approved by the instructor for use in the class. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY 1 QTY Camera(s) Cameras are required for the photography section of digital imaging. Several are available to be checked out through MECA. You may choose to either buy a camera or check out one through MECA. Cameras must be able to create raw files. This can be found under the camera specifications under the subtitle of file formats, look for the word RAW. The cameras must also be capable of manual controls. Contact the instructor with questions. 1 QTY Paper Paper is provided for in-class use. You must purchase your own paper for work outside of class time. 3 TWO DIMENSIONAL DESIGN (FN 113) Instructors may announce additional supplies during the semester. Please note that ColorAid paper will be ordered for you and included in your lab fee in order to save you money and ensure you can get it in time Black paper (Silhouette or Color Aid brands only) Tracing paper- minimum 9 x12 or larger pad Elmers Repositionable glue stick (must be this exact type) Rubber cement (small container) X-acto knife and pack of 100 extra blades (you will need to use a new blade for almost every work) Cutting Board (chipboard will work but will need to be replaced several times, self-healing cutting board is better) steel cork backed ruler Scissors Black fine point marker (sharpie or micron pigma) Mechanical pencil White plastic eraser box clear pushpins (no colors! Must be clear!) Clear scotch tape Notebook Box to carry your supplies Circle making devises (things you can trace to make a variety of sizes of circles such as: yogurt tops, coins, plastic bowls, bottle caps, CD s, rolls of tape, hubcaps, crop circles, Frodo s ring, planets, etc.) Useful, but not required c-thru ruler for measuring and positioning Retractable utility knife Digital Camera Circle Template Triangle, 12 on one side Magazines (for collage)

4 THREE DIMENSIONAL DESIGN (FN 115) Instructors may announce additional supplies during the semester. Many supplies can be purchased at your local hardware store or Home Depot and should not be expensive. Other materials will need to be purchased but these will be discussed as the assignment nears. Every effort is made to purchase materials in bulk so that students can share. Students should arrive on the first day of class with: Clothes that you are not afraid to get dirty Drywall Sanding Screen, medium grit (80-ish) oz. Ball Peen Hammer, such as: Inexpensive ($10-ish) set of 3-chisels, such as: Stanley Sureform Shaver, must have rounded (not flat) shaving face, such as: Safety goggles/glasses, such as: Protector / Dust mask, such as: Utility Knife with extra blades (NOT an exacto knife; must be a utility knife) Needle nose pliers Dish sponge Notebook/sketchbook Pencil Metal Yard Stick Yellow Glue Ear plugs Scissors box of spaghetti Hot Glue gun At least 40 sticks of glue for hot glue gun Wire cutter/pliers Wax thread, such as: bs_lp_t_2?_encoding=utf8&psc=1&refrid=0ams76j1ha3xeeg6p3p Thin Wire, such as: ref=sr_1_4?s=arts-crafts& ie=utf8&qid= &sr=1-4&keywords=jewelry+wire
