A person familiar with the plans said Tuesday that quarterbacks coach Todd Downing will replace offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave next season on coach Jack Del Rio s staff. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the changes have not been announced by the team. Musgrave s contract was up and will not be renewed by the Raiders in the first changes to Del Rio s staff since he was hired in NFL Network first reported that Musgrave would not return next season. Oakland (12-5) made the playoffs and posted a winning record for the first time since 2002 before quarterback Derek Carr broke his leg in the second-to-last game of the regular season. Musgrave helped develop one of the NFL s top offenses in his two seasons in Oakland as Carr grew from an up-anddown rookie season before Musgrave arrived into a possible MVP candidate this season. Carr threw for 3,937 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, while throwing just six interceptions and taking only 16 sacks before the injury. The Raiders ranked sixth C M in total offense, seventh in Y K scoring and 10th in yards per play this season. Oakland also had a successful ground game, averaging 4.4 yards per carry, with a three-headed backfield led by Latavius Murray and rookies Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington. The Raiders had 416 points this season the fourth most for the franchise in a 16-game season and had seven fourth-quarter comebacks on the way to earning a wild-card berth in the AFC. But Oakland stumbled in the season finale with backup quarterback Matt McGloin and then lost the playoff game behind rookie Connor Cook. Del Rio publicly criticized Musgrave s play-calling at times during the season, wondering why Murray didn t get more carries in a seasonending loss at Denver that cost the team a division title and first-round bye. And Del Rio also questioned why Musgrave didn t stick to the run on the final drive in a key December loss at Kansas City and said he would have rather had one of his big backs run, instead of the smaller Richard, on a failed fourth-down play in an early season loss to Atlanta. 2 Page B2 samoa news, Wednesday, January 11, 2016 Cowboys defensive leader Sean Lee finally gets playoff shot FRISCO, Texas (AP) Sean Lee s first All-Pro season will end with the first trip to the playoffs for the oft-injured Dallas linebacker. If that sounds like a breakout year, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten would argue otherwise. To me, it s not like, oh, we re seeing a different player than we ve seen in the past, Witten said. I remember the first week, his rookie year, he was tough on scout team. He s what you want your linebacker to look like. Lee missed Dallas only other trip to the postseason since he was drafted in That was two years ago, when the Cowboys beat Detroit in a wild-card game before losing at Green Bay in the divisional round. The Cowboys (13-3) will meet the Packers in the same round Sunday. This time Dallas will be at home as the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and Lee will try to slow Aaron Rodgers, who has 19 touchdowns without an interception during a seven-game winning streak for Green Bay (11-6). Lee never played in 2014 after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the first offseason practice. It was the third long-term injury for the former Penn State standout who slid to the second round in his draft because of another knee injury. By the time that season ended, Lee had played in 46 games and been inactive because of injury in 36. But $80 Daily Rate *NEW* $120 Daily 2013 Hyundai Sonata Automatic (Red Car) 2015 Kia Sedona Automatic now he s played in 29 of the past 32. It would be 30 if Lee hadn t been held out of the regular-season finale at Philadelphia because the Cowboys had clinched the top seed. During a lot of injuries I ve had, I said, Hey, I have this great opportunity ahead of me to play on this great team with these great teammates, Lee said. So that was really what motivated in times I was injured. Even though he knew he wasn t playing against the Eagles, Lee kept his helmet on. And it wasn t so much because he longed to say he played all 16 games. His career list is likely to show another 15, matching 2011 for the only other time he came close to playing a full season. Instead, it was Lee doing what others say separates him from many players: obsessing on preparation. As soon as they played the Rocky theme song, I was like, You ve got to get me in this game, Lee joked before explaining. When I ve had the injuries, the best thing I did was mentally I kept myself in it, situational. OK, I m going to prepare like I m playing this week. Lee set a career high in tackles each of the past three seasons he played, starting with 123 in 2013 before the knee injury, and 156 last season. After sitting against the Eagles, he settled for 173 and a teamhigh 12 tackles for loss this O&O INC. CAR RENTAL PO Box 3897, Pago Pago, AS Located in Nu uuli (O&O Inc. The 30-year-old Lee was denied a second Pro Bowl bid, but not the All-Pro nod that carries more prestige. It s good to see that recognition and the people kind of see it in the reflection because he has a lot of tackles, Witten said. That doesn t define what Sean brings to this football team. I think it s so much bigger than that. What most don t remember is Rodgers offense keeping the ball for the final 4:06 after that play to preserve the win. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones certainly does, particularly because Lee was on the sideline and on injured reserve. I remember watching Rodgers take it down the field against us two years ago and wishing we had Sean Lee out there, Jones said. And I knew he was sitting over there pretty healthy. Despite that, Oakland had one of the league s top offenses behind Carr, 1,000- yard receivers Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, an offensive line with three Pro Bowlers and the running game. Downing started his NFL coaching career in 2001 in Minnesota. He also served as quarterbacks coach in Detroit and Buffalo and is very close to Carr and will bring a level of continuity to the job. Defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. is expected to return despite overseeing a unit that allowed a league-worst 6.1 Now, I don t know if he was ready to defend Rodgers. But it would have been probably good to have him in the game. This time Lee will be, after waiting seven seasons to experience the postseason. The anxiety level is low, but the excitement level is high, Lee said. I ve missed a lot of football. I m blessed to be healthy. I m excited to be on this team and have this opportunity. Witten and others are excited for him. Raiders replace OC Bill Continued from page B1 yards per play. Defensive backs coach Marcus Robertson reportedly will not be back next season after the Raiders allowed an NFL-high 61 pass plays of at least 20 yards. Del Rio put the blame on the defensive backs for that weakness in his season-ending news conference Sunday. Explosive plays, whether you like it or not, they always come back to the secondary, he said. The front line, even if you have a front line that is full of holes, the back end has a chance to cap the play before it goes explosive.

4 Page B4 samoa news, Wednesday, January 11, 2016 Packers Allison charged with misdemeanor drug possession GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) Green Bay Packers receiver Geronimo Allison has been charged with one count of misdemeanor marijuana possession after a traffic stop in September. The charge against Allison was filed in Manitowoc County Circuit Court on Dec. 15. A hearing was scheduled for Jan. 23, according to online court records. The case was first reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Tuesday. Court documents show that Allison, 22, was issued a citation for driving 11 miles over the speed limit on Sept. 4. He later paid a $200 fine. The misdemeanor marijuana possession charge filed last month was also dated Sept. 4. The Packers had a day off on Tuesday. The team said in a statement that it was aware of the matter involving Geronimo Allison. Because this is an ongoing legal matter, we will refrain from making any further comment. A call from The Associated Press to Allison s agent on Tuesday night was not immediately returned. An undrafted rookie free agent out of Illinois, Allison had emerged with eight catches for 157 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay s last two regularseason games. He could play a bigger role in the divisional round playoff game on Sunday against Dallas if Jordy Nelson can t go because of a rib injury. FILE - In this Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, file photo, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le Veon Bell (26) runs during the second half of an AFC Wild Card NFL football game against the Miami Dolphins in Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger s ankle appears to be fine. Considering the way Le Veon Bell is running, it might not matter. The Steelers have taken a smashmouth approach during the eight-game winning streak that s carried them to the divisional round for a second straight year. (AP Photo/Don Wright, File) Bullish Steelers going heavy during win streak Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison warms up before an NFC wild-card NFL football game against the New York Giants, Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, in Green Bay, Wis. (AP Photo/Matt Ludtke) PITTSBURGH (AP) Offensive lineman nirvana arrived for the Pittsburgh Steelers late in the first quarter on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Ten snaps. All handoffs from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to Le Veon Bell. Each one of them chewing up clock, yardage and whatever mettle Miami s defensive front seven might have brought north to chilly Heinz Field with them. When the drive ended 83 yards and 5:27 later with Bell stretching across the goal line to give the Steelers a 20-3 lead, Pittsburgh s transformation from aerial circus that produced a quick two-touchdown lead to a battering ram protecting that advantage was complete. It s the best feeling for an offensive lineman controlling the line of scrimmage and knowing they can t stop it, right tackle Marcus Gilbert said. That surge off the football, it kills the defense. It demoralizes them. And it showcased just how versatile Pittsburgh s offense has become during the eightgame winning streak it carries to Kansas City on Sunday in the divisional round of the playoffs. The Steelers have beaten teams in various ways during their two-month renaissance following a choppy 4-5 start. One week it s Roethlisberger hooking up with Antonio Brown three times for scores as they did during a Thanksgiving night victory in Indianapolis. The next it s Bell setting a franchise record with 236 yards rushing in snowy Buffalo. It s the kind of versatility the Steelers (12-5) believe can make them a tough out going forward, one they showcased during their first meeting with the Chiefs in October, when Roethlisberger tossed five touchdowns and Bell ran for 144 yards in his return from a three-game suspension for violating the league s substance abuse policy. We re a team that s really balanced, Bell said. We can spread guys out, throw the ball all over the place, line up big, run the ball out of shotgun or run or pass out of four-wide. I think we re really balanced, and we can attack in different ways. Having a healthy line and one of the league s most skilled backs certainly helps. The proof of Pittsburgh s dominance running the ball over the past seven weeks a stretch in which Bell has piled up 1,002 yards rushing is that the Steelers haven t done much to disguise when they re going let Bell do his thing. When Pittsburgh wants to set the tone, offensive coordinator Todd Haley will often send in 286-pound guard Chris Hubbard as a sixth lineman with 270-pound blocking tight end David Johnson. Though technically there are pass options for Roethlisberger when the Steelers go to their heavy set, they don t. It s a formula borrowed from former Pittsburgh coach Bill Cowher, who championed the idea of throwing early so you can run late. It worked to near perfection against the Dolphins, when Bell broke Hall of Famer Franco Harris franchise record for yards rushing in a postseason game by the end of the third quarter. Bell finished with 167 yards on the ground and Pittsburgh cruised to its biggest playoff blowout in 20 years on a day Roethlisberger threw just 18 passes and just six in the second half. We have a better understanding of who we are, coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday.

(AP) Patriots receiver Danny Amendola says he s feeling good and hasn t had any setbacks while recovering from an ankle injury that has sidelined him for the past month. Amendola spoke to reporters Tuesday for the first time since suffering the injury late in the Patriots win over the Rams on Dec. 4. He missed the final four games of the regular season. He wouldn t say whether he planned to play in Saturday s divisional round matchup with Houston, but said he s available for whatever the coaching staff asks. Amendola returned to practice during New England s bye week. He has 23 catches for 243 yards and four touchdowns this season. The Patriots added depth to their receiving group with Amendola sidelined, signing Michael Floyd after he was waived by Arizona. He wouldn t say whether he planned to play in Saturday s divisional round matchup with Houston, but said he s available for whatever the coaching staff asks. ((AP Photo/Marcio Jose Sanchez, File) FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) Being a member of the New England Patriots during the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era has generally meant a guaranteed place in the playoffs. Still, for 20 players on the Patriots active roster Saturday will mark the first taste of the postseason of their NFL careers. That group includes a pair of starters who have filled significant roles for New England this season in defensive end Chris Long and receiver Chris Hogan. Long hadn t won more than seven games in any of his eight years with the Rams from 2008 to 2015 prior to signing with New England this offseason. Hogan, in his fourth season, spent the previous three seasons playing for AFC East rival Buffalo. The closest he came to the playoffs with the Bills was a 9-7 finish in I ve never experienced it before so this is all new to me, Hogan said. Just talking to some of the guys, the playoffs, you talk about preseason going into the regular season, the speed kind of picks up, and I ve heard that from a number of guys that the playoff speed picks up a little bit more. Long s playoff drought is the longest of any of the Patriots. I think everything happens for a reason. Sometimes you might not like it, but listen, it is what it is, he said. I ve been very lucky throughout my career in a lot of ways, so whatever brought me to this point... I m just going to be excited to be in the moment. Everybody earns it. Hogan has fit right into the Patriots receiving group, making 14 starts. He s fourth on the team with 38 catches for 680 yards and four touchdowns. Long has appeared in 16 games this season with 35 tackles and four sacks. He s helped fortify New England s pass rush following the trades of Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins. Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia said Long s efforts haven t gone unnoticed by the coaching staff. I think he has enjoyed the process and just really as far as that is concerned has been a guy that s out there working really hard every day to get better and play hard for his teammates, Patricia said. That s all you can really ask for. Another Patriots offseason addition is being reacquainted with playoff football. Tight end Martellus Bennett spent his first four NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, and had a forgettable experience of the postseason in 2009 in which he was targeted just four times in two games. He s back seven seasons later, and is trying not to take anything for granted this time with a franchise used to making deep postseason runs. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels pointed to Bennett s unselfishness as being the thing that s helped him integrate so well into New England s system. He leads the team with seven receiving touchdowns and is second in yards (701) behind only Julian Edelman (1,106). Bennett said he thinks the 2012 season he spent with the New York Giants was beneficial to his growth as a player. It s also helped him to appreciate the opportunity he has now. (The Patriots) win a lot of games. I hadn t really won that many games in my career, he said. I ve been able to do a lot of individual things as far as numbers go, but individual goals aren t really important. This is a lot more fun than catching 90 balls and losing 10 games. Does that mean he sees this as an opportunity to win an elusive Super Bowl? I just crave the big-game moments and playing in games that matter, he said. A lot of times, you don t really get to do things that matter and I have a chance to do that right now. It s a mentality shared by the Patriots playoff newbies. These guys that have been here and have been in the playoffs before have earned it, and guys like Marty and myself and other guys, we just came in and tried to earn it with them, Long said. And here we are.

Seahawks headed back to Atlanta where loss still lingers RENTON, Wash. (AP) Four years ago, the Seattle Seahawks walked out of Atlanta after a defining moment that shaped what has taken place since. A loss to the Falcons in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs stung and lingered. To this day it s still a touchy subject after Seattle was unable to hold on to the lead in the final 30 seconds. But that loss also became the foundation for two NFC championships, a Super Bowl title and two more playoff appearances. And while the people involved have changed significantly since that game, the circumstances are just as meaningful for Seattle when it travels to Atlanta for a divisional round playoff game on Saturday. Except instead of trying to create the foundation of being among the elite, Seattle is trying to prove it still is among the elite in the NFC. It s one of those games, Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday of the loss in January It s one of those games you store away, but it doesn t have anything to do with what s going on now. Seattle was an upstart during the 2012 season. Led by then-rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, the Seahawks earned a wild-card spot in the NFC and knocked off Washington in the opening round. Against Atlanta, the No. 1 seed in the NFC that season, Seattle appeared outclassed, falling behind 20-0 at halftime and 27-7 entering the fourth quarter. That s when Wilson pulled off one of his greatest rallies to date, leading Seattle on three fourth-quarter touchdown drives to take a lead with 31 seconds left after a 2-yard TD run by Marshawn Lynch. Wilson finished that day throwing for 385 yards, still a career best, but Atlanta hit two long pass plays in the final 30 seconds and Matt Bryant s 49-yard field goal with 8 seconds left won the game for the Falcons. We felt like we were far, but we still had a long way to go, Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner said. Kind of like woke us up, but it definitely made us hungry too because when you feel like you have a great team that should win it all and you lose... and you sit there in the offseason and watch the other teams win, it gives you that hunger to come into the next season prepared and I think that s what happened. K.J. Wright echoed Wagner s feeling about the game. Wright is among a handful of key players that remain on Seattle s roster despite the Seahawks constant churn. He believes Seattle doesn t get to a Super Bowl without that loss. I believe that we weren t quite ready yet to take it all the way, Wright said. I m kind of glad that happened to us because we learned from it. We won the Super Bowl the following year so we learned from that moment. While their experience and knowledge has grown in the seasons since, the memory of that game remains fresh, especially this week when the scenario is very similar. Atlanta is again the higher-seeded team with a multifaceted offense that was among the best in football, and Matt Ryan directing the charge. The Falcons are the rightful favorites then and now. But the situation is significantly different for Seattle. The Seahawks were the upstarts then; young, brash and looking to prove they belonged. Now, they re trying to continue their legacy and prove even with a resume that includes five straight appearances in the divisional round of the playoffs, they are still the powerhouse of the NFC. I still remember that game, me and (Bruce Irvin) sitting at the end, watching, Wagner said. It wasn t a great feeling. We want to make sure that doesn t happen again. NOTES: RB C.J. Prosise practiced on Tuesday for the first time since suffering a broken shoulder blade in November. Carroll said it would go all week before a decision is made if Prosise will play. He s going to have to go full speed and let it rip. If he s holding back, he won t play, Carroll said.... FB Marcel Reese should be able to play after suffering a foot injury in the opening-round win against Detroit.

7 samoa news, Wednesday, January 11, 2016 Page B7 Falcons Ryan looking to fill postseason void on resume Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan (2) looks to pass under pressure from Carolina Panthers Wes Horton (96) in the first half of an NFL football game in Charlotte, N.C., Saturday, Dec. 24, (AP Photo/Bob Leverone) FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) Matt Ryan s poise under pressure has produced 25 fourth-quarter comebacks, a Matty Ice nickname and his first All-Pro selection. The Atlanta Falcons quarterback also is a leading MVP candidate. The glaring void on Ryan s resume is his 1-4 postseason record. At 31, Ryan may not have many more chances to change his reputation as a quarterback who comes up short in the playoffs. Ryan s only playoff win came against Seattle after the 2012 regular season, and he ll have another shot at the Seahawks in Saturday s NFC divisional round game. Ryan said Tuesday he has never been better prepared for the playoffs. I feel like as you get experience throughout your career, you try to learn from all of it and you try to use it to make you better, Ryan said. I feel like I ve done that throughout my career. Both positive and negative, I ve learned from all of those experiences and... I feel like I m just playing my best and playing better than I ever have. No matter his stats, Ryan ultimately will be judged by his team s success. The Falcons led the NFL in scoring while winning the NFC South, but a loss in their playoff opener would lead some critics to conclude they were just another regularseason fad that was not built for the postseason. A loss also would leave an even larger void on Ryan s record. Falcons coach Dan Quinn said he talked with Ryan about the extra playoff pressure placed on the quarterback. Quinn said this is a different Ryan than the one who lost to the 49ers in the NFC championship game after the 2012 season and also suffered one-and-done playoff losses to Arizona in his 1998 rookie season, to Green Bay in 2010 and to the Giants in Quinn believes Ryan is ready for postseason success. For him I think you can t truly be relentless until you ve been right close to it and you didn t get it, Quinn said Tuesday. I know from my experience you learn so much from a loss and what you gain from it. What I can tell you is Matt s a far different quarterback today than he was a few years ago. Quinn said Ryan s ability to attack, his ability to be ready in this season s offense has nothing to do with past playoff failures. Ryan said he doesn t dwell on past playoff letdowns. I don t worry about it too much, he said. One thing I ve learned throughout my career is if you spend time worrying about that, you re not spending time worrying about the things that are going to make a difference on Sunday. The approach is working for Ryan. He had a career-high 38 touchdown passes and a low with only seven interceptions this season. He finished second in the league in TD passes and yards passing. His passer rating leads the NFL. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Ryan s success following a startling dip in production in 2015 is a natural progression for his second season with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. The success has made Shanahan a target for at least four teams looking for head coaches. The word we use is chemistry between throwers and catchers, Carroll said in a telephone interview. There really is a lot to that.

Parker Wednesday, January 11, 2016 Happy Birthday: Assess personal relationships and reconnect with people from your past. Looking back will help you figure out how to move forward. Making subtle changes to the way you look, live or do things will improve your popularity and give you greater insight. Don t feel the need to follow others when you should be the one leading the way. Your numbers are 8, 17, 23, 27, 34, 38, 41. ARIES (March 21-April 19): Don t share personal information about your finances or your professional goals. It s best to make any adjustments to your qualifications or skills quietly. Patience will pay off when you re ready to present what you have to offer. TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Ask questions, show interest and share your ideas with people who have more experience than you, and you will discover the best way to proceed with your plans. Get involved, sign up for something you believe in and make a difference. GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Moderation and setting guidelines regarding what you will and won t do will be necessary. Deal with demanding people by choosing to do your own thing. Don t be a follower when you should be the one who is responsible and leading the way. CANCER (June 21-July 22): Open up, share your emotions and explore possibilities with someone you enjoy spending time with. A makeover or refreshing your appearance to fit current trends will result in compliments. Stick to a budget and avoid making impulse purchases. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Dealing with institutions or colleagues will require finesse and plenty of preparation. Get your facts straight and make your presentation fail-proof. You can make a difference or bring about helpful changes if you are astute. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): What you do for others will make a difference when you need something in return. Make this a day of listening and talking and you will build stronger relationships. Share your thoughts, feelings and plans for the future with someone you love. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Do what s expected of you and keep a low profile. If you can put up with someone s disgruntled attitude, you will be able to take care of some of the things that matter to both of you. Be mindful rather than critical. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Home improvements, investments and personal gains can all be made if you stay focused on your dreams and put forth a solid effort. Your tenacity and enthusiasm will help you convince others to support your goals. A commitment can be made. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Make a point to relay information directly. Sticking to the facts will help you clear up an emotional situation that has left you in an awkward position. Evading personal situations will only make matters worse. Be honest and move forward. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Stay focused on the things you enjoy doing most and you ll find a way to incorporate your desires into the way you earn your living. A small step forward will far outweigh making an impulsive move. Love is on the rise. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Don t be too eager to share personal information. Emotions will be difficult to control if a money matter arises due to someone s foolish spending. Look for alternative ways to cut your overhead in order to save for something special. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): It s what you do that will make a difference. Take action and follow through with your plans. Updating your look to fit the current trends will grab positive attention from your peers as well as someone you love. Birthday Baby: You are sensitive, intuitive and creative. You are inventive and progressive. Dear Abby by Abigail Van Buren WIFE WHO ESCAPED ABUSIVE MARRIAGE MUST NOT GO BACK DEAR ABBY: In the beginning of our marriage there was physical abuse and marital rape. I stayed anyway. Over the years we had two children. My husband, Seth, and I don t communicate because he has refused to talk about any issues we have. During the last few years, my youngest son has also become physically abusive to me. I tried to leave many times but failed until last December when, because I had a heart attack, I finally moved in with family. I did it for the sake of my health and my sanity. Seth now wants to talk about our issues. He suggested that I come back home. He has several medical problems, so I was taking care of all the household chores and working two jobs. My children will not help with the chores unless I scream and yell for hours. I no longer love my husband. He wants to romance me and try to make me love him again. He is also very controlling. He feels I owe him a chance to prove that he loves me and can change. Am I wrong for leaving and letting go? I m very confused. -- LETTING GO IN FLORIDA DEAR LETTING GO: You owe this man absolutely nothing! If you allow Seth the chance to romance you into coming back to take care of him, you will wind up exactly where you started. Your son abuses you because that is what he saw his father doing -- and you allowed it. If you stand your ground now, it will show your son that abuse is not to be tolerated. I hope you will teach him that lesson because it is an important one for him to learn. DEAR ABBY: Four months ago my wife started wearing more makeup, perfume and trying new things with her hair. It began after she was promoted to store manager. Recently, I found out that someone has been flirting with her. (She would never have told me on her own.) Our sex life has decreased more and more over the last few months. She barely speaks to me now and spends most of her time on Facebook. She refuses to discuss our relationship, and I suspect she may be looking for someone new or has already found him. I just don t get it. I love her. We have been married for nine years. Please help me to understand. -- FEELING LONELY DEAR FEELING LONELY: Your wife may not want to discuss your relationship, but sometimes it s the things people least want to talk about that most need to be. If you haven t already, tell your wife you have noticed the changes in her behavior and in your level of intimacy, and you miss it. Tell her you love her and feel your marriage is threatened. If she still doesn t want to discuss your relationship, tell her it s time the two of you go see a marriage and family therapist together. What you were told may be no more than a flirtation, but if it s more than that, it s better you know sooner rather than later. I hope your wife will agree, but if she doesn t, then for your own sake, get some counseling without her. DEAR ABBY: Do you field more questions from unmarried couples living together than from married couples? I can only judge from what is printed. -- INQUISITIVE IN VIRGINIA DEAR INQUISITIVE: That s an interesting question. Frankly, I have never broken down the letters into categories like married or cohabiting. Many people live together before marriage today, but eventually progress to formalizing their relationship. Others do not. Married or not, their relationship questions interest me, or I wouldn t print them.

16 Page B16 samoa news, Wednesday, January 11, 2016 Manny Pacquiao set to return to ring on April 23 FILE - In this Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, file photo, Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao raises his WBO welterweight championship belt during a news conference upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay city, southeast of Manila, Philippines. Pacquiao, 38, will add another fight to his long career resume when he takes on Australian welterweight Jeff Horn on April 23 at a venue to be decided. (AP Photo/Bullit Marquez, File) BRISBANE, Australia (AP) Manny Pacquiao will add another fight to his long career resume when he takes on Australian welterweight Jeff Horn on April 23 at a venue to be decided. Promoter Duco Events said Wednesday the location for the fight involving the 38-year-old Pacquiao could be in one of Australia s major cities, possibly Horn s hometown of Brisbane, or the Middle East or United States. The preference for all parties is for the fight to be held in Australia, and we are working towards this outcome, said Duco director Dean Lonergan, who met with Top Rank chief Bob Arum this week to set up the fight. Arum said he wants the fight to take place at an outdoor stadium, and it would be beamed into 159 different countries, including the U.S., where it would be shown in a prime-time Saturday night time slot on free-to-air TV. I would expect 3 to 4,000 Filipinos to fly from the Philippines for this fight down under, Arum said. It will be the biggest fight in Australian history but, until the money is secured, we have to keep our options open, including looking at the Middle East and USA. It is a nine-hour flight from Manila to Brisbane. Pacquiao, , captured the WBO welterweight title for the third time against Jessie Vargas in November. He earned a reported $100 million while losing to Floyd Mayweather in the richest fight ever in Horn (16-0-1) is a 28-yearold former schoolteacher who fought at the 2012 London Olympic Games. He is No. 2 in the WBO s welterweight rankings. Pacquiao is the WBO champion in that division while also juggling a career as a senator in the Philippines. I feel in his last few fights I ve seen some weaknesses that he has and I just think I can get those, Horn said. I can beat him because I can see those weaknesses, I know Glen (trainer Rushton) can see those weaknesses. Rushton said it would be a tragedy if the fight happened anywhere other than Brisbane. We really hope the Queensland government and so forth will feel the same way, he said. It just makes sense, but also for the future. This can reinvigorate boxing in Australia. Horn s last fight was a knockout of South African veteran Ali Funeka in Auckland, New Zealand in December, with Arum at ringside. C Y C Y M K M K
