Students watch the video clip on the causes of WWI pp Students answer question 3 on p17 this can be used as a formal assessment. Students can discuss Long and short term causes. Resources KS3 History: Technology, War and Identities (A World Study After 1900) Wilkes/Ball Moral: can Ferdinand s death be used to to justify war, or was it simply the excuse the world needed Extended writing task ( q3) Did Princip start the Great War? Section 3 Trench Warfare Outcome To describe the conditions inside the trenches LEVEL 4 To explain the conditions inside the trenches and provide detailed examples to show LEVEL 5 To analyse and explain trench conditions and how this affected the moral of the troops LEVEL 6 What is trench warfare? Why were the trenches built? Understanding What conditions existed inside the trenches?
