MARIE MINING AREA An E.M. and Magnetometer survey has been carried out over these claims as a possible method of locating sulphide mineralization. Attention was brought to this area by a small and not particularly impressive mineral ized showing containing chalcopyrite. *\ The showing itself did not suggest that it would respond to. E.M. or Magnetic evaluation. The purpose of the survey was to locate a better grade of mineralization than was observed, that would respond to an E.M. survey. The Magnetics were only taken to help establish geological patterns if suitable responses were obtained. Conclusions and Observations: The E.M. response does not suggest any zones of potential interest. The quadrature response is quite steady, indicating the lack of conductivity. The in-phase response is noisy which can, in part, be accounted for by the coil orientation difficulties caused by the irregular topography.

The magnetics do not show any obvious trends. Location; The claims are located in Twp. 2 2, Range 10 of the Sault Ste. Marie Mining Area. Access is by an old wagon road running north for five miles to the claims, from the Ranger Lake road. (See location map on E. M. Result Plan - Appendix A) Survey Method: Lines were cut 400 feet apart on a grid pattern, as indicated on the survey plans. The E. M. survey was conducted utilizing a Sharpe SE600, Horizontal loop, instrument with a coil separation of 200 feet. Measurements were made at stations 100 feet apart of both the in-phase and quadrature (out-of-phase) responses. The magnetic survey utilized a Sharpe MF-1 Fluxgate magnetometer. Readings were taken at the same stations used for the E. M. survey. The results have been plotted in profile on a scale of l inch feet. The E. M. results are attached as Appendix A.
