1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION FEATURES LAC0 family is the industry first AC/DC LED to consider safety, EMI, power factor, thermal protection, input over voltage protection, accurate output current (20mA, 40mA, 60mA) without external sensing resistor, it can be either package free (Flip Chip ready) or package. It is the easiest way to pass safety AC LED driver with minimum cost. LAC0 family almost has no external components. LAC0 family can be either no package (for Flip Chip) or Package. LAC0: Good Efficiency, good power factor, the lowest cost AC/DC LED driver LED Driver without Magnetic neither Switching No EMI issue & Good Power Factor Precision Output Current: LAC0L : for Input Voltage range ~5Vac (80Vac to 40Vac) LAC0L2: output current = 20mA +/- % LAC0L4: output current = 40mA +/- % LAC0L6: output current = 60mA +/- % LAC0H: for Input Voltage ~ 20Vac (60Vac to 280Vac) LAC0H2: output current = 20mA +/- % LAC0H4: output current = 40mA +/- % LAC0H6: output current = 60mA +/- % Thermal Protection ~ 50 degree C: when thermal protection triggered, the output current will be the half of the design value. For example, LAC0L4 output current will be changed from 40mA to 20mA 2 level Input OVPs for lighting surge protection: the first lower level, the output current will be the half of the design value. For example, LAC0H6 output current will be changed from 60mA to 0mA. If the input continuous goes up, it will trigger the second higher level, LAC family will turn itself off until the input goes down Input Under Voltage Off or On (Optional): please contact Champion FAEs/Sales LAC0L: when input voltage < 50V, it could be either On or Off; if it is on, power factor and flickering are better; if it is off, power factor and flickering are worse but it is completely off and no residual lighting after off LAC0H: when input voltage < 00V, it could be either On or Off; if it is on, power factor and flickering are better; if it is off, power factor and flickering are worse but it is completely off and no residual lighting after off High Efficiency (efficiency > 90%): When Input ~ LED voltage (the voltage drop cross LAC0L family < 5V or the voltage drop cross LAC0H family < 0V Pin package in TO252-L or SOT22 or TO220 or 5 Pin package in TO252-5L LAC family is ready for Flip Chip or Chip On Board PCB based on customer requirement Continuous power dissipation ~ 2.0W at ambient temperature = 25 degree C Vanguard 800V UHV process 205/04/2 Rev..0 Champion Microelectronic Corporation Page
