Accessing Your Data TheProfiler can have a massive impact on your bovom line. The website data is what makes TheProfiler the leader in soil moisture technology
Device Overview Page
Measurements Records in cen9bar readings (cb), with es9mated Percent Field Capacity (%FC), Inches Depleted ( dep), and Plant Available Water (PAW) by sensor depth.
Set Point Indica7on If there are set points set, there will be a color in the upper right-hand of the device box that gives average field capacity for the soil.
Rain Events The device overview gives a reading for rain for the past 24 hours from the most current reading.
Soil Type The soil listed is the classified soil of the whole profile.
Soil Temperature The soil temperature gives current temperature at the depth in the soil where the sensor is installed.
Growing Degree Units, ET and Avg 4 Day ET You can set your GDU and ET informa9on on the Se_ngs page in the Chart tab.
Pivot Controller If you currently have a Pivot Controller and you grant us access from your pivot control company, we can pull your pivot informa9on as well.
Device Chart Page Click on the Chart buvon on your device overview page to be taken to the Device Chart Page.
Device Chart Page
Home Clicking on Home will take you back to the Device Overview page.
TheProfiler Info TheProfiler Info lists the serial number, field ID, farm, grower name, group, power, la9tude & longitude, last reading, YTD rain, signal strength, bavery, device soil type, soil type by sensor, crop with hybrid (if you re using FieldX), plant date, growth stage, Avg 4 day ET, and a GDU gauge with a maturity line.
Pivot Informa7on (If Applicable) Power, serial number, name, date, pressure (if available), direc9on of travel, and angle of the pivot.
Serial Number The serial number of TheProfiler unit you are currently viewing.
Graph BuMon Click this buvon ader making any adjustments to the dates in the range box. The default date range is two months of data prior to the last reading.
Map Device Will bring up a Google map showing where the unit is physically located in the field.
Graph BaMery/Signal Graphs the bavery voltage and signal strength for the dates in the range box for the current serial number.
Range Change the start and end dates of the chart. This will not be saved once you leave the graph page.
Print Click the box op9ons you would like to print for a report, whether it is Graph, Notes, Device Info, and/or Map.
Download Chart Data This downloads the chart data that is currently in cen9bars on the graph.
Chart Main Page The main sec9on of the chart page includes the slider for moving through data, an ET data graph if you ve set the crop type, plant date, and growth stage. Below the main charts are Device Notes, an Add/Edit Notes box, and the growth stage (if applicable).
Top of Chart The top of the chart includes the serial number, field name, grower, and soil type for the unit loca9on. This is based on either NRCS data or soil texture sample taken when installing and changing the soil type under the Se_ngs tab.
Click for More Informa7on The sensor depths, current rain, day rain, temperature, and notes can be clicked on and off, for viewing on the chart.
Tool Tip A box will appear at any reading on the chart. This will give the data at any 30-minute reading, no maver where your cursor is on the chart.
Notes Incident notes are found above the slider on the graph 9meline. You can place your cursor on the note and this will open the note.
Device Notes Notes created throughout the growing season by the grower and the soil moisture manager. Notes can be edited, or deleted only by the author.
Add/Edit Notes There are two kinds of notes: Incident and General Device. The General Device note only shows up in the Device Notes sec9on. Incident Notes appear on the 9meline. There are three kinds of incident notes: General, Rain, and Irriga9on
Growth Stage Changing the growth stage updates the ET based on the growth stage.
SeQngs Click the Se_ngs buvon in the upper right corner to make changes to your se_ngs.
This is your Device Se_ngs page. SeQngs
No7fica7ons Each unit has the capability to send a text message to your phone based on the average field capacity of the sensors. To set this up, click on Ac9vate then set your above and below field capacity, and enter your name and cell number.
Soil Type Each sensor depth can be set to a different soil type. To change individually, simply unclick Apply to All Sensors and set your soil types. To set a certain depth, click the first drop down arrow box to select which watermark depth, followed by the drop down arrow box that lists the soil types. Click set. Once all are set, click save.
Crop Type Here is where you can set the crop, plant date, and hybrid GDU maturity level. The crop is the current crop that the probe is monitoring.
Water Level Setpoints Here is where you set your full, stress, and refill points. Like the soil type, you can set your points for all sensors. Setpoints can be found in the Watermark Installa9on, Soil Texture, and Cen9bar guide.
Reports Click the Reports buvon in the upper right corner to run data reports.
Reports The report also offers a Print buvon to print the report, and a Download buvon to download a PDF.
In-Season Maintenance TheProfiler is generally a maintenance-free unit. The only regular maintenance that needs to be done is clearing the canopy around the solar panel to allow the system to charge. You should also clear the canopy around the rain bucket.
Extraction For most crops, the unit should be pulled out of the field each year prior to harvest. The extrac9on process doesn t take very long, but special care should be taken to not damage the equipment.
Watermark Extraction stepspro.com/video/remove-theprofiler-field/
Capacitance Probe Extraction
Storage TheProfiler unit should be stored in a dry area and not led on the ground. Ensure it doesn t get run over and that it stays away from crivers to chew on the wires.
Troubleshooting Date is Red on Device Overview The unit has either been extracted or the bavery is below the lowest limit. Rain Bucket Didn t Record a Rainfall The rain bucket wires may have been cut/chewed in two. If the screen or hole is plugged with debris, this may also cause the rain bucket to not record.
Troubleshooting Sensors are Reading 250 cb on Device Overview If the sensors show 250 cb we can tell if they have been cut/chewed in half by looking more in-depth on the chart. No Reading on a Capacitance Model If a capacitance probe wire is broken, the probe won t show any readings.
TheProfiler in the Future
TheProfiler in the Future STEPS is currently working on gathering access to mul9ple brands of pivots, as well as flow meters and weather sta9ons to view the data on our website. Each company s Applica9on Programming Interface (API) is different, but as we gain access to more, we can give you greater control over every area of your irriga9on system to view the data on our website.
