I donit think I will have to consult my transmitter log to be able to verify your report; I was conducting the test myself and do remember the time of our frequency measurement. Your reception of our station was better than that of the company making the reception report, and our frequency measurement, the Commercial Radio Monitoring Company of Kansas City. With a frequency of 1490 you probably realize that we are a class IV AM station with a power of only 260W. We are also in a small town of only about 3500 population. I have been in the hospital for some time and necessarily have neglected my correspondence. i have checked the contents of your letter and I am pleased to be able to verify your reception. For your information regarding Station KOVIB, we are using a Collins 300G 250 watt transmitter which operates on a frequency of 1340 KC's. Our studio and audio equipment is also Collins. We are using a wincharger guyed tower slightly less than one -quarter wave length long. Our studio and transmitter equipment are contained uxu er one roof. The building is of modern type architecture which fits in very nicely with the surroundings here at Laramie. Station KOR'VB is owned by local businessmen of Laramie ana started operating February 20th. We are affiliated with Mutual Broadcasting System. For your information we are conducting frequency measurements in the future on the first Thursday of each month. Mr. Meyer is a Class "A" Amateur Ham, therefore, our transmitting equipment was his biggest hobby before he entered the U. S. Navy. I am trying to "keep the home fires burning" until he returns after the duration and can take over again. Incidentally, I might mention at this time that he built his own short -wave transmitter for our home and holds "WAS" and "MAC" certificates. He designed a three -beam antenna, which occupied two pages of QST Magazine of May, I would be very happy if you would drop me a line at any time you hear KPQV on the air. The information There has been some confusion as to our call letters. KTWO -TV recently purchased KSPR Radio and changed the call letters of the 1470 spot to KTWO. We operate on 1470 kilocycles with 5000 watts power daytimes and 1000 watts at night. Both KTWO -TV and KTWO Radio are located at "Broadcast Center," 3900 East Second in Casper. KTWO beings broadcasting at 6:00 a.m. and signs off at 1 :00 a.m. daily, Monday through Saturday; Sunday hours are 7:55 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. Again, thank you for your reception report and your interest.
