7 cdv' v/ctori4, B. C. March 9 / 44 Dear Kermit : Thanks a lot for your swell letter which arrived here a few days ago...we were very glad to hear from a listener so far away...we have checked our broadcast schedule with the information contained in your letter and find it matches O.K. You are not the first in your state to pick us up, though, as we have received reports from various DXers throughout that part of the country...we credit it to our frequency and not our power...at present, we are rated at only five hundred watts, although we expect to have a thousand within a matter of a few weeks... Then we hope to move out of 140 to a more civilized frequency...it might interest you to know that on the same day as your report arrived, we received one from a DX fan in New Zealan.d...That is the sixth we have had from "Down Under." We have also heard from listeners in Mexico, Alaska, and a good many of the eastern states and provinces... It seems strange that we should cover such vast distances at that time of night, when we can't even obtain full coverage of our own Vancouver Island, on which we are situated... Thanks again for your letter, old man, here's hoping this letter will take its place in your ection... Your. / inc., ely ern Groves (Chief Operator)
